For the ceremony, it's also good for filling in the silent gaps, like when you're both signing the marriage certificate, or lighting the unity candle. When guests are finding their seats before the ceremony begins, you'd want to have some soft music. For the reception, you'll want a significant song to mark your grand entrance into the reception as the Mr & Mrs. A song for cake cutting, a song for the single ladies catching the bouquet, a song for when he takes off your garter, and another song for tossing the garter into the crowd of eligible bachelors. Picking music has been the funnest part of wedding planning for me. :)
I love music my Vitamin String Quartet. I am using Chasing car for the procession and I'll be for my procession. The music is on iTunes. They do all different songs from various artists.
The Vitamin String Quartet is beautiful for weddings. Its more modern than the usual music but not too over the top. I had the songs "Yellow" and "Clocks" by Coldplay, 'I Mijss You" by Incubus, and "Hallelujah" by Rufus Wainright (all re-done by the VSQ) for the prelude. "Beautiful Day" by U2 is also a good choice. For my entrance I had the instrumental version of "Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve and for the recessional I used "Life in Technicolor" by Coldplay. I honestly cant remember what I used for the bridesmaids of the parents but I got so many compliments on my music choices. Good luck!!
