This is hoku41205's Red Wedding!

So, my fiance and I finally found a church to get married in. It's a small white chapel looking building. No stained windows. The sanctuary is fairly small, all white walls with a few wood accents, blue fabric chairs. We are probably doing our reception at the local legion hall (due to finances) and are probably going to do a cocktail attire reception.

Originally the plan was for the girls to be in floor length dresses (we're getting married 11-11-11, and it's cold in november in the chicago land area) and the guys to be in tuxes. MY Moh said that maybe the girls should be in shin length or knee length dresses, and the guys could be in black suits instead.

what do you all think?

I'm fine with shorter dresses, but I was thinking I still want some color. I was thinking black shirts with pewter ties (my colors are pewter, wine and black....although I may be taking the wine out) or Pewter shirts with black ties.......

So I had everythign planned....the ceremony, the reception, the photographer and the florist along with the guy that was going to marry us...... Then life happened....

We recently realized how much debt we have....and how much we can't afford to have a wedding...or to live for that matter.. so a few choices were made..

1. liquidate all types of savings to start to pay off debt
2. move in with my mom and step dad
3. cut wedding guest list to 100
4. forget the wedding we had planned......
5; start all over
6. pay off debt

So...life is going to suck for a while...but it's allgoing to be worth it, and it will all work out for the best.... just sucks i had my dream wedding in the palm of my hand and POOF...........it's gone....

So....Chris's friend Jenny (who decided to get married the day I wanted to...after I told her..)( shes getting married 29 days before us) texted me the other day...... Sayin that she thought we should be guests at each other's weddings.........chris and I were going to be moh and best man (1 of 3) and her and her fiance chris were giong to be bridesmaid and groomsman.

She said that she wouldn't have any money left over...which i understand andi took that with no hard feelings.... but then she said that she didnt want us in her wedding because she cant be in ours becuz she wont have teh money.....this is the second time she's taken us out of her wedding......
chris was and still is very hurt.... i feel kicked to the curb again....but I guess everythign works out for the best.... you start to learn who your real friends are and arent...

I kinda feel like a weight has been lifted off of me..... I can focus on My wedding....and My bride to be time.... and not have to worry about who's things are on which days.....if they collide...they collide right?

So our original colors were Wine and Ivory.
I think I may have found a new color!!!

I dont know what its called...but its a gunmetal grey with a silver overlay....so Like a silverish deep gray.....ITS SEXY!!!!!

I decided that I want to be different and a lot of people do wine....I think doing the grey with wine would look very regal....and My girls would all be in darker dresses....which makes them happy :D
What do you all think???

ANd I think I may wear a light gold dress instead of white/ivory..... the picture on the right (the bradsaw dress) is the color gold I'm thinking of...maybe a little more gold...but I love it!!!!

How long did you date before you got engaged?
we were together for a year and 3 months before we got engaged...but we dated casually for 6 months before we got together officially....so a year and 9 months? lol

Did you get the ring you wanted?
Yes, I knew the style ring I wanted....and I got to pick it out when we were in Vegas

Was the proposal a complete surprise?
No actually....we decided we wanted to get married before we left for vegas. the plan was to get the ring....and he could ask me when he thought the time was right.....well he asked me the night we got the ring... i was layin in bed sick playing with the ring and he just asked casually :) it was sweet ;)

Do you wish you had a bigger/smaller diamond? If so How big or small?
sometimes I wish the center diamond was a bit bigger...like 3/4 of a karat...or 1 karat....but I love my ring...and I'm not a big gawdy person so it's perfect :)

Did you cry when he proposed?
Nope....

When do you want to go for your honeymoon?
I dunno honestly probably the Sunday or Monday after our wedding....

Are you buying his wedding band for him?
You can say that...we are paying for everything together....

Have you gone over your original wedding budget?
We haven't even set one yet! lol

square :) the one i've looked at and love so far is 4 tiers with red roses in between each tier

so far the location is bristol court in mt prospect il :D

What kind of dress will you have/color/material?
actually I'm looking at getting a bridesmaid dress in either white/ivory and doing some custom alterations to it...that way i wont spend tons of money on it, and no one will have the same dress as me :)

What kind of flowers in your bouquet?
white roses...wine mini callas

white gold...center diamond is .34 karats and has 15 tiny diamonds in 3 rows around each side of the band ;) .

Kind of wedding bands?
We haven't picked them yet.

Half up, half down probably lots o' curls :) with a flower in my hair for my hawaiian heritage

Our family and close friends

black tux...possibly with small white pinstripes (he loves pinstripes) wine colored vest and white tie ..oooooor white vest with wine tie

2 or 3 years.

already live together...since we were dating for 4 months
