I couldn't decide if I wanted my flower girl's dress to be white with a black sash around the waist ...

Honeymoon Baby Anyone?
Babies, wedding recap....
Well not even a month after then wedding and I'm pregnant :D Yay!!! We were prepared for at least a year of trying, but OMG the first month of trying and here we are... guess I'm going to have to join the www.whattoexpect.com blog now LOL!!!
Now on to the wedding day.... It was nothing like what I expected.... it poured rain all day, the groomsman were less than perfect.... my bridesmaids rocked and the best man was awesome! The ceremony was done in a flash, I barely remember saying "I do"!! I just held Tim's hands tight and tried my hardest not to cry! The venue was spectacular! There were a few minor hiccups, but our awesome new wedding coordinator was absolutely fantastic and made sure everything was perfect. The decor was beautiful, the food amazing, the service awesome! Couldn't have had a better day, but thank god it's over... it was an amazing day, but I pray it never happens again LOL or is that just the hormones and pregnancy exhaustion.... ask me in 9 months.... |

Ask a Question
Is it really your wedding?
Does anyone else feel like this is NOT their wedding? Everyone says that the wedding day is the Brides day. But the mothers get their say in everything and the groom has a say in everything and all of a sudden, nothing is mine anymore... I realize there must be compromising involved, but why everything. Maybe I'm sounding like a spoiled princess, but I really don't care. None of this wedding is anything I wanted. I feel stressed and sad. Don't get me wrong, I cannot wait to be Tim's wife, that part I am excited for, but how we are doing it and how we got to this point, I don't know.
It started out little things, like he wanted it in a church (I'm spiritual, not religious, but it didn't really bother me) So we're getting married in a church. I want the date to either be May 08 (We met on the 7th, and had gotten engaged on the 6th, so I thought that would be the perfect day... nope his family had obligations, so I thought May long weekend, and that was nixed too.... so we went with the last available day in May, May 29th. So at least I still got the month. Those things didn't really bother me too much, until things started adding up, all those little things just kept piling up.... |

The excitement is starting to really build up and now i don't care about my unhelpful in-laws or my cranky Mom! Yay! None of them can bring down my bubbly excitement

Rant
So I'm really not feeling the love from my future inlaws.... They are not helping at all with the wedding. I don't mean financially, could care less... but they show NO interest in ANY part of this. FMIL just complains about everything, especially to my FH. After inviting her to see my dress TWICE, and being blown off, she told him "it would be nice if I were invited" GGGRRRRRR...... They won't help with the rehearsal dinner (we wanted to have a casual BBQ), they aren't contributing to the planning of the day after party, other than being there, which I guess I should be thankful for that, BUT really, why do I, my FH and my family have to do EVERYTHING, so they can enjoy themselves and not get off their asses and do anything. NOW my mom is trying to plan the shower and my FMIL is like, who would I want to invite? UH YOUR FAMILY, since in her words, "Why would I throw a shower for you?" !!!!
There's my wedding rant.... For now.... |

Back....
Well I've been off of here for quite some time, actually got kinda bored with the whole wedding planning stuff! Hit a point where I wished I had hired a planner or just eloped :s. THEN the wedding shows started and boosted my wedding excitement. We've changed our decorations to something more elegant and formal, ordered the invitations and flowers, picked out the guest favours and picked out the bridal party favours (just have to get those lol). Now I feel WAY more prepared and excited with the wedding planning process, don't get me wrong, I never lost the excitement of getting married, just the process :) We still have some minor things to do, so we're not done yet, but everything feels like it's falling into place...

Ask a Question
Water Proof Makeup
While I know there is water/tear proof mascara out there, but is there water/tear proof eye-liner etc? I'm definitely a crier and I'm considering going almost bare skinned for the ceremony, cause I KNOW I'll cry, but makeup free is not me.... any advice?

Wedding Reception
Colors
So this morning we went to rent our linens and centerpieces. After seeing the apple green overlays, we decided that it just didn't look right, so we've decided on a deep plum purple to accent the black and white. Luckily nothing else has been ordered that would matter. I'm sooo excited because it looked absolutely beautiful!!! YAY
So the picture is our centerpieces, except the stone in the bottom will be a mixture of the clear glass stones and black natural stones... ***********************UPDATE********************** So I changed my mind on the center piece, so we went into the decorators to have a look and ended up changing EVERYTHING but the colors.... Our table cloths went from white linen to plum satin, with a wide black runner and narrower plum runner over top. The chair covers went from white with a plum sash to black satin with a plum sash and the center piece is a tall rectangular vase filled with ice gel and beads... a long taper is lit in the middle and the whole thing sparkles :) :) :) Now I am VERY excited |

Wedding Reception
Venue Grrrr
So I had chosen our venue for all the awesome "stuff" they included in their package price. I received an email from them stating that due to "lack of demand" they downsized the tablecloth colors from 26 to white and ivory AND the napkin colors down from 26 to 16 AND no more chair covers.... So the chair covers I'll suck up and rent some, but should I change my color scheme and save money (nothing has been purchased or ordered to match yet) or should I go all out and make/buy/rent the tablecloths and overlays and everything and stay with the original theme???
I was thinking of maybe doing the base color ivory and accent it now with the apple green and some black touches.... decisions decisions.... |
