I have been totally MIA these last few weeks since we got back from our honeymoon and tons of things have been happening! Our honeymoon was amazing...7 great nights at the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana DR. The hotel was so gorgeous and everyone was exceptionally friendly. We made a bunch of friends from Europe, and had an absolute blast! The weather was hot and sunny everyday...I got an awesome tan ;) On other news our house is coming along very well...we should be all done in another 6 weeks and ready to move in. I love being a wifey, but it won't feel 100% real until DH and I are in our new house just the two of us and our pup princess lexi. It is has been less than 2 weeks and we have gotten all 3000 photo files from our photographer..he is awesome! Here are a few more...all photography by Gord Weber, and all editing done by ME! Also, just want to mention that the cake was done by me and my sister (www.thelushcake.com, be sure to check out the flickr link for all photos) and all of the decor was my mom....but most of you know that by now ;) For our honeymoon we are going to the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana...it's a 5 star resort. It was a really tough and exhausting couple days. After tons of talking to the priest, we finally found a solution. Ft Steve was already booked, so our priest found a Deacon that is available and will do it our way. I am SO HAPPY! I told the priest that he best inform all of his couples his practices as soon as they meet with him so that no one else has to go through what my family and I did. On a better note...we are getting married in 5 days!!! My mom has been working her butt off doing the arrangements and getting everything ready for the centerpieces. The first few are our cake! As some of you may know I have a cake decorating business so I am make a huuuuge 7 tier fake cake! It is a damask/chandelier theme cake :) Today we are meeting with our caterer to go over final numbers and everything and then I will be printing out the menus. As some of you may know from previous posts, my mom is a floral designer and she is doing all of our decorating/flowers for the wedding (and paying for them, woo). She is amazing! A few weeks ago she went to the gift shows in Toronto and bought tons of wedding stuff from the warehouses because she is a vendor. My FMIL hosted it at her heritage estate (house was built in 1830) and she rented a tent, chairs, table cloths...everything! It was a fairy tale princess theme and there were about 80 guests. My sister and I made all the cupcakes and the desserts were unreal! We had a combo of homemade Italian and Chinese food. We went to Montreal yesterday to get a dress for my grandma and aunt for the wedding, and we came across a shop that sold tons of stuff! My aunt is a huge bargainer, and got them down 1/2 price!! They also had 100 in stock which was amazing! As I was going to pay mom said that she wanted to pay for them...she truly is unbelievable. We are having a cappucino/esspresso/latte bar at the wedding and these totally go with that theme.We are also having a monochromatic candy buffet, but that's just something extra. What do ya think? We are having about 20ish kids coming, so I also plan on having a kiddie table with colouring books and other stuff. I am a photography grad, so photography is extremely important, and I would love to see what all my talented little ones come up with. I completely redid the card, with my colours and fonts that I like. I will be printing them on cardstock and will place them at each kids seat with a disposible camera and a pencil. We went shopping, and then she took me for a few Bellini's! (moxie size of course haha) When we got back to my house at 6:30 all of the girls were there! One of my friends from Toronto even surprised me, she wasn't supposed to come! The girls had a care package for me with a bunch of stuff that were hints for the night! Included in the care package was some cute pjs, a lipstick from Sephora that had a half naked guy hologram, an interestingly shaped shot glass, and a garter with an L & S, which is my FHs initials (it was from La Senza of course haha) and a ton of other stuff. We played a bunch of games which were awesome, and my mom and grandma made tons of food including homemade pizza, deep fried ravioli, cheese platters and Brie, artichoke dip and so much more! We then took off to a hotel!! We walked in and it was a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, full kitchen SUITE, and they had decorated it and stalked it with booze ha. It was amazing! We were going to go to karaoke, but were having too much fun at the hotel, so we just went to the bar. The girls had reserved a booth with a bottle of champagne and GOOSE and we were up in the best spot overlooking everyone else! I honestly am so grateful to have such wonderful family and friends! She is a floral designer and has been doing weddings for like 15 years. I am so fortunate that she is so talented and doing all of my flowers and decorations for our wedding! I told her that I wanted pomanders on shepherds hooks and that I didn't want them to be typical looking so she came up with these!! Since she is a vendor, she can purchase everything wholesale at the warehouses in Toronto. I LOVE THEM! We will be putting them in nice silver pots which will come to the church with us, lining the aisle. Then we will bring them back to my grandparents, and they will line the driveway on either side, (there will also be an aisle runner), leading to the tent!
