Ceremony
Found it, booked it, LOVE IT!
I found it a bit difficult to find a venue for my ceremony. We are expecting over 250 for the wedding and we knew we didnt really want to get married in a church... so where do owe get married??
I finally found this beautiful and very big place, it is the university of Alberta Convocation Hall. The setting is very beautiful like a church, so exactly what we wanted. I have paid the deposit, and signed the contract! Its official, we finally have a place to get married. We also booked our wedding coordinator. Things are coming along nicely! Yay! |

Bridesmaid Trouble, what should I do?
Hey Ladies,
Its been FOREVER I have been on here, ive been soo busy with everthing else that wedding planning has taken a toll. However a few things have happened that I will post about later. If you remember from a previous post I have had some troubles with one of my bridesmaids... Things are not getting any better, she is not being supportive, will not help me at all. I was recently hospotalized and had t have surgery and she never came to visit me, and actually got really rude with my mother over facebook. I dont think i told you guys this either, but earlier this summer she also told me that i shouldnt be marying my FH as she doesnt like him.... WTF.... i thought bridesmaids were supposed to be there to support your marriage... EEEEKkk... Well I think i have had just about enoough of her, and i dont want her as part of my wedding party anymore... Im too nice of a person and i dont usually do things like this... i dont know what to do or say... could you please help me out?!?!?!? |

Wedding Flowers
I love this bouquet, this is EXACTLY what i want, unfortunately im getting married in october and Anemones are terribly out of season. Anemones are very fragile flowers, i met with my florist on the weekend, and she suggested doing this bouquet in real touch silk. I have seen them before and i thought they were great, however im very nervous, she is going to price it out for me and get some in for me to see first. She has assured me that i will love them.
Anyone out there doing real touch silk? Anyone ever seen them in real life... I havent told my FH yet about the artificial flowers im considering. He was not really into them when i told him i was considering them for their boutineres.... My bridesmaid bouquets will be white hydrangea, and gonna try to incorporte some black in there aswell. All very elegant, and with a great vintage feel. |

Dresses!
Great news! I finally made up my mind on my bridesmaid dresses. Here they are, my MOH will be wearing the one on the right, she will be shortening it and adding a layer of crinaline to match the one on the left. I found these dresses kind of by accident, and i loved them instantly. I went shopping with my MOH yesterday, we picked out a few that we liked, and then we walked into this small bridal store, just to kill some time... well low and behold these dresses just hit us in the face. The only reason I am doing two different dresses is because my MOH is very chesty and i was afraid that the other dress would be a little too "stuffy", and flaten her out too much.
Obviously my dresses will be black. |

Wedding Reception
Booking our venue!!!
OMG! I'm soooooo excited at this point, so Friday i Finally get to send the official email to book my reception venue. I knew from the moment i got engaged that i wanted to get married at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald. It is such abeautiful venue, and it goes absolutely perfect with the theme we have chosen. Having said this, the moment my FH agreed with me on the location i called. They unfortunately told me that i would have to wait until 14 month till the wedding in order to book the venue. So obviously ive been couting down the days pretty impatiently. So i have been in pretty close contact with the lady in charge there and she will pencil me in on Friday! HOOORAY, the only unfortunaate part is that there will still be another two months of waiting until i get confirmed.... Ahhhhhh.
None the less im super excited to get my name on paper there!!! (im definately hoping that since our wedding is on a Friday that there wont be a problem for them to confirm the booking!) |

My Fh comes home from work for two weeks and we are going on vacation, so im hoping this doesnt hurt me too much. Atleast im losing something... its making it easier to keep going!! :) |

UPDATE #1 (first two weeks)
Hey girls, so as promised here is my first update for my weightloss...
I have to be perfectly honest with both myself and all of you, i was not a saint these past two weeks, alot of drinking and not watching my diet... and very little excersise. (weddings...oooops) I did drink alot of water and walked alot, this hopefully helped a little bit. I still have a few weddings in the next two weeks, but i will work my butt off! soooooooo here it is..... July 13 2009 Weight- 165 lbs (-1lbs) Chest- 33 1/2 ' (-1/2') Waist- 31 1/2' (-1 1/2') Hips- 44 1/2' (-1/2') Right Thigh-23' (same) Left Thigh- 23' (-1') Right Arm-11' (Same) Left Arm-11' (-1/2') Not too bad considering... hahaha So im gonna set myself a goal this week. 5lbs! |

How could they???
Im not sure if i have talked to you girls about this before or not, but my little brother has gotten engaged. I got engaged on December 25th after being with my bf for almost 2 yrs, in April my little brother got engaged to his GF of 11 months. They are madly in love with each other, and are soooo excited to get married. Sh had very strong religious values and they cannot sleep togehter or live together.
My brother and his Now fiance sat down with me and discussed their wedding plans. They both promised me that they would get married after us as they knew it was important to me that my family (they are very far away) is there to share my wedding day with me. So they picked a date 8 months after pur date to allow time for people to be able to attend both weddings. Today my brother meets with me and tell me that he and his fiance have decided to change their wedding date, it is now 3 MONTHS BEFORE mine, I am very upset about as they had promised me that they would wait. The worse thing is that everything is already boooked she bought her dress already.. and everyone knew but me, I feel so betrayed, and ebarrased, and sad, and mad, i cant even discribe just how i feel. I know it really isisnt that big of a deal, and im super happy for him that hes getting married, but... i just thought it was very disrespectful that he did this,m even after we had gotten engaged first, and set our date even before they got engaged. GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRR. One of the worse parts is that my brother says, what if the roles were reversed, you wouldnt wait two years to get married,,,, GUESS WHAT??? Im waiting 22 months... NT BY CHOICE.... my FH brother got married YESTERDAY, this is the reason why we decided to wait. My brother also said that he had nothing to do with the decicion it was all his Fiance. But i tried telling him that marriage is all about comprimises. i didnt want to get married 2 years after i wasengaged, or in october, but i am because it meant alot to my FH, and it was the respectful thing to do... Ill get over it, but for now....im really upset... :( |

I am following in the footsteps of Chellie... Ive decided that you all will keep me motivated and hold me accountable for my weightloss and measurements.
I am really looking forward to loosing some weighth and looking amazing on my wedding day. I used to be a competitive figure skater, and fitness and diet was always a huge part of my life. I quit skating a few years ago and i have totally let myself go. I did really good for a while, but ever since my FH and I have been together i have gained 46lbs... that is really depressing. so i would like to look hot on my wedding day. the journey starts today.... June 29th 2009 Weight- 166lbs Chest- 34' Waist- 33' Hips- 45" Right Thigh- 23" Left Thigh- 24" Right Arm- 11" Left Arm- 11 1/2 " I will take measurements and weight myself every two weeks. |
