No Smoking Please!
Ok, so my FH doesnt smoke and I do, he has never asked me to quit, but i have made the decision to quit...for good this time. I dont want to be smoking in my wedding dress, and i certainly dont want to be smoking when i get pregnant. So i decided to do it now! I have been two full days without a cigarette. And im doing it cold turkey. Ive been chewing lots of gum and drinking lots of water. I have joined sparkpeople.com to help me with the weight loss before my big day, and i have replaced my smoking habit with tracking my food, and water consumption at work and reading articles and recepies instead of going outside for a smoke.
Its not easy im gonna say that, but i feel great! I will give you girls an update every onec in a while.. Wish me luck! |

So i decided...
Colors
So after quite a bit of contemplating, i have finally reach a decision regarding my colors. I am going to go with Black Ivory and coral pink.(very little pink though mostly my flowers, and small accents here and there).
It was a very hard decision because i always dreamt of having a hot pink wedding... but this is a big comprimise to have what my FH wants and what i want all in one. It will be a very elegant wedding. Im getting excited! |

BIG DECISION!
I've decided to change everything...
My FH and i went to a wedding last night, and on our way home we started talking about our own. He nver really wants to talk about it so i was pretty excited. he had let me ppick ut the colors because he knew that they were important to me.... i had originaly pickd hot pink and black.... my FH told me from the get go that he wanted to go old school...almost gangster style for his tuxes...he wants long jackts and fedora hats.. i told him that was great but i wasnt changing my mind on the colors.
SO last night we started talking about our first dance and my FH said that he wants to talk ballroom lessons and do a big ballroom production for our dance. I was super excited becausei had always dreams of that, but i never thought he would go for it.. Then i started thinking about th venue we want to book, and its a very old hotel, gorgeous, old architecture. even though my dress experience was horrible, i did noticed that off white looked sooo much better on me, and im really leaning towards a vintage style dress.... and im pretty sure that i want a bird cage veil.. so putting all the pieces of the puzzle together, it looks like im having a vintage style wedding. needless to say hot pink will not go very well with these ideas.... im very upset about not having my hotpink...but i know that the wedding will be very elegant and everything i ever hoped for. so i guess im looking for some suggestions on a new color palet, i still need some pink in there....i also dont want to give up my gerbera daisies for flowers.....but i will if i must... girls i need some suggestions.. Please help! |

Wedding Dress
Upseting first time
I know that my wedding day is pretty far away but i was too excited, and i decided to go try on some dresses last night to get an idea of what i may want...
I went to the bridal store in my home town with one of my bridesmaids, i was soooo excited and couldnt wait to see myself in a wedding dress for the first time. I got to the boutique and the ladies were asking me what i was looking for, and i told them that i wanted something white, preferably not strapless, more of like a cap sleeve, but that i was open to trying on different styles to get an idea of what would look good and what not. So they filled my dressing room and i started trying them on. I quickly noticed that ALL the dresses they set out for me where ivory, dark ivory, and ALL strapless...not a huge deal, but i never got to try on what i asked for. To make matters worse, the ladies just stood there and said nothing. I thought that it was their job to give you an opinion.... and atleast try to sell you something... they stood there with their arms crossed and said NOTHING! Needless to say i had a pretty horrific first experience, i went home and was brought to tears. Has this ever happened to anyone else? any advice on what i should do next time.... (besdies going somewhere else) |

Guest Favors...
So... there are so many ideas for unique guest favores out there, and im really unsure of what i want. I want definately want something that my guest will enjoy and keep, and something that reflects our personalities as well. I dont want to do the same ol' thing you know?!
I'm looking for some ideas, and some suggestions. I am open to DIY, since i have alot of time until my day, and im getting anxious to starting some projects. Your suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated! |

To Plan or not to Plan?!?
Like most girls i've been dreaming of this my entire life. I have so many ideas and my FH has given me pretty much full power haha. I always pictured hiring a wedding planning to take care of all the little details and make sure i didnt forget anything.
I ran the idea by my FH and he thought that it wouldnt be necessary, at first i was a little annoyed since i thought to myself "your not the one thats going to have to do everything" lol. But the more i think about it, i have 22 months until my wedding day, i can get so much accomplished in that much time. Lots of things i can do myself, make little pojects... I am however still alittle apprehensive about not having someone run the show the day of the wedding and making sure everything runs smoothly... also im not a very assertive person, or one to try and get deals... WHAT SHOULD I DO?! |

Spring wedding in the fall?
My Fiance suddenly found a sentimental side and has decided (well i decided too) to have a fall wedding. The reason we picked October 8th is that it is his grandparents anniversary. His grandmother just passed away this summer, so it means alot to him.
I really didnt want a fall wedding (i preffered a spring wedding), but i really couldnt deny his request. Since i wanted this spring wedding we are thinking that we wont really change any of my ideas.... but im a little worried that it might be a little tacky..... The colours i have picked are hot pink,black and white....which are not typically fall colours. I also want gerbera daisies as my flowers... what do you girls think? should i have a fall back into spring wedding? |
