Ceremony - Aisle Runner
I really wanted some unique touches to our wedding - everything personalized with our "logo" - it's not really a monogram but it just says "Gloria and Sascha" in our colors in Scriptina font. That's a theme through our whole wedding.
I contacted Holly Carafa at Three Galas Designs for a custom aisle runner. I wanted it to say "They Lived Happily Ever After" in the middle and then our "logo" at the front with the date. She did a FANTASIC job. The aisle runner is cream colored, 25ft long, and done in our colors. It's all folded up at home, waiting for the big day but I can't wait to post a picture of how beautiful it looked. This isn't quite what it looks like, but you get the idea. I think it'll add a wonderful touch to the ceremony. She hand paited the aisle runner in our colors - hot pink and chocolate. |

VENUE
Royal Ashburn Golf Club
When we were at the Toronto Bridal Show early in 2008, Sascha was prowling around and then came to the booth for the Royal Ashburn Golf Club in Ashburn, Ontario (North Whitby). He was instantly interested because, well...golf was involved! He made an
appointment to check it out. We instantly fell in love with the venue for a number of reasons. They have 2 garden ceremony locations, a huge patio, a beautiful sun room/terrace which leads into the banquet hall (the Ashburn Room). We liked the idea of having everything at one location. It was the one and only venue that we looked at so that was a big relief. From day one, we didn't have to shop around. I was able to start planning everything based on the location. We are having an outdoor ceremony at the little gazebo/chapel and then everyone enters the terrace for champagne and appetizers. |

Wedding Decoration
Ceremony Decor.
Decor was always a big issue for me. I believe it's a huge part of any wedding. I've pretty much drove my decor lady to drink (sorry Debbie) but as of April 10 - everything is settled and planned and I feel pretty good about it :P
For the ceremony, I wanted to really have it whimsical and pretty. Debbie, from Creations Decor is making 6 rose topiary balls on stands for us. 3 on each side of the aisle. Attached to the stands are sheer swaggs for decoration and to prevent people from walking on the custom painted aisle runner I have. The topiary balls are similar to the ones in the photo but the stands are a cream colored victorian style iron stand and the roses are "ravel" - like a hot pink and white with a few green hypercium berries. There will be 3 floral arrangements on the chapel gazebo as well as 2 large alter arrangements on either side. |

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
The proposal
Sascha proposed to me New Years Eve at the beginning of the year 2008 on top of the CN Tower. We went up there for drinks and we were to watch the fireworks at midnight but unfortunately, it was snowing too heavily and we couldn't see! We stayed until the bar was almost closed and until Sascha got enough nerve to ask me. When I said yes, the whole place started clapping! It was awesome :)
Sascha remembered what kind of ring I wanted. He asked me one day and I said, "a vintage style, white gold emerald cut with 2 emerald cuts on the side and small round diamonds on the band...that's exactly what I got! I named my ring "Angelica" - yeah I'm a dork. And it was magical! |
