2 years later...
Catching up
I have not been on here for over 2 years and I wanted to just pop in a leave a post about how life is going after 2 years of marriage!!
It is going great! The hubby and I purchased our first home almost a year ago and gutted and remodeled it making it our very own. I am very happy and excited to say that we are also expecting a little baby boy due New Years 2013! We have had our amazing days and we have had our difficult days as a married couple but that is what marriage is all about. Continue to love each others differences and enjoy each day you have with each other. Communication is the most important aspect of a marriage, along with what happens in the bedroom :) Remember, God did not lead us to a comfortable life, he lead us to a meaningful one. I hope those of you planning your wedding are cherishing every moment and those of you who are already married are enjoying every moment! Love, Katy |

Something old, something new...
What are you using!?!??!
So I have finally decided what I would be using for each of those superstitious wedding trinkets. Something OLD will be these two photos in small picture frames that my florist will be placing on my bridal bouquet of my Grandfather and Uncle. I was very close to both of them and they both passed away from cancer. Not only will they be there in spirit but by my side throughout the ceremony. Something NEW will have to be of course my wedding dress & my gorgeous tennis bracelet that my fiance bought me for a wedding present. Something BORROWED will be my mothers amazing diamond earrings that are absolutely huge and blingy!! Something BLUE will be my fiances' baby bonnet from when he was born. His mother gave it to me at our engagement party and told me I could cut the strings on it and it turns into a handkerchief. However, I love traditions and starting new traditions so instead of cutting the strings I am having my florist place it half in/half out of my bridal bouquet as is so I can use it as a bonnet when my first boy is born as well! What are you using in your wedding as something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue?!?! AND dont forget the silver sixpence in your shoe!!! :)

Bridal Shower #2
Amazing!!!
So this last weekend was my 2nd and last bridal shower and it was so much fun!!! My first bridal shower was thrown by my FMIL and FSIL's and it was so beautiful, I have pictures from it on a couple posts below. This 2nd bridal shower was thrown by my bridesmaids, my matron of honor (sister), my two sister in laws whose children will be my flower girls and ring bearer and then my beautiful mother of course! From the moment I walked in the door there was damask and light pink accents everywhere! The table settings and decorations were gorgeous, the candy bar was adorable, the food was delicious, the games were fun and all the women there were amazing!! They had beautiful pink roses with white fillers in square vases with damask ribbon around them on some tables and round vases with these beautiful flowers in them from my childhood neighbors garden, the cutest damask plates and pink tablecloth! The candy bar as you can see was all pink black and white with a touch of See's candy as well, my favorite! They did such an amazing job on making that candy bar, my mom should go into the business! The food was a bunch of my all time favorites, such as spinach dip with bread, veggies & dip, chocolate covered strawberries that my best friends father is famous for making, yummy salads, lasagna, garlic bread and honestly anything else you could think of!! My two best friends were in charge of the games and they were so much fun! One was "guess the white stuff" so there was like flour, sugar, salt and so on and we had to guess them. Another games was "what is the married celebrities last name and what show are then in", totally sucked at that game! The last game was "don't say the word.." game and they had these cute diamond rings that everyone wore and people stole when they heard someone say bride or wedding! It was so much fun to see everyone and see how blessed I am with all the amazing women in my life! Not to mention the plethora of gifts I got that are still scattered all throughout my house!!! I am so thankful to have all these people in my life! Now I am off with my love to Big Bear for some much need R&R!! :)

Guest Book OR Picture Frame
To Have Or Not To Have...That is the question..
Well, I decided to HAVE a guest book signed by our guests instead of a picture frame, but not just any ordinary guest book! I created a guest book on Shutterfly.com with all of our engagement pictures and left a little bit of room on most pages for guests to write a little note, memory or blessing. We bought some white and pink sharpie paint pens at Office Depot and tada!! We have a not so ordinary guest book! It's a great way to have a book of our engagement pictures and remember all our guests that came to share our special day with us by not just having their signature but a little personal note from them as well! I felt like a signed picture frame would just not work because they do end up looking old after awhile and most people just sign their names which I wanted more then that! I am really happy with how it turned out and plan on doing the same with our wedding pictures for ourselves and for our parents as a “Thank You” present for all they have helped us with and their constant support!!

Wedding Rehearsal Invites!
Soooo cute!!
Wedding & Dinner Rehearsal Invitations ordered, received and sent out!! I was not sure if most people send out rehearsal invites but I found some on weddingpaperdivas.com and just had to order them! It is always nice for your party to have something concrete to look at for the when, what, and where! They look so elegant and of course I added my own little pink bling! Our wedding day is getting so close and I am now not being able to go to sleep right away because I am thinking of what still needs to be done! It is not too stressful yet, but all those people who said it sneaks up on you fast, they sure were telling the truth!! :)

Wedding Favors
Done!!
So I went to my favorite place today for wedding ideas, Michael's, and noticed that they got a few new damask wedding items!! I saw these damask candle tins and fell in love! I HAD to have them as the favors for my wedding instead of the damask paper boxes with pink candy in them. I was in no way going to pay over a dollar for favors, I just don't believe in that, so our original favors were going to be around $80.00 dollars plus be a ton of work assembling them and adding the tissue paper and candy. Well I did the math AND with the 60% off a single item coupon I found online it ended up that each favor was only going to be $.54 cents per person. Which means a total of $54.00 for favors plus no assembling needed! I returned those damask boxes right away and my fiance and I bought up all those candle tins! I plan on adding a little pink bling to the top of the tin to keep up our theme, but I absolutely LOVE them, plus they smell so yummy!! :)

Bridal Shower #1
Success!
So this last weekend was the beginning of our wedding festivities! My first bridal shower which was thrown by my FMIL and 2 FSIL's was so much fun! They decorated it to the tee with black and white damask and light pink! There was about 20 people there so it was small and intimate but so much fun! We gossiped and then had some yummy catered food, many different types of salads, sandwiches and my favorite types of appetizers!! Then we had some fun playing some new and creative games! One game was called "The Price Is Right" which meant we had to guess the price of certain household products and see who had the closest correct amount, I was .95 cents away, but I didn't win!! However I was able to keep each household product which is awesome because I was almost out of most of them! One other game we played was how well do you know the bride, based on the grooms answers! It was so funny because some people were right on and those who don't know me so well were WAY off!! After the games it was present time! I got so many wonderful presents from so many people!! After presents we had cake and OMG it was the BEST!! Of course it was from Great Dane Baking Company and it was lemon and raspberry! But the best part was the decoration on the front of it, it was sooo cute!!! Definitely check out the pictures!! Can't wait for the rest of the wedding festivities!
