Ask a Question
Wedding Planner???
So, how many of you gorgeous brides-to-be have hired or are planning to hire a wedding planner??? Just curious because I have been considering it, but I am wondering if it is REALLY a necessity. So, any input would be gladly appreciated! Thanks girls!

I have hired a Wedding Planner and one assistant for my wedding day.  I will meet with her (30) days before my wedding hand over all my files and it's all hers. I have done this as I have Fibromayalga and I dont want to be stressed on my wedding day.

I recently found out that we cant get access to my wedding venue until 9:00 am the day of my wedding to decorate so now I have hired (3) people through the planner to do the room set-up.

I started planning this wedding over a year now so I hope that things will all be organized and thus no fibromayalga.

I'd love to have a coordinator.  My mom laughs her head off every time I mention it though... lol.

I have NO clue how much they cost, but I think you can get one for a couple thousand.  I guess it depends on their level of involvement.

I'd love some help narrowing down choices, but I'm pretty organized so I'm not sure that I NEED one.

My main concern is getting things set up the day of at the hall... I'm not sure what time we can get in there (thanks scheri, I never thought of that!) so I'd better ask.

I supposed I can put someone in charge of that, but hiring someone to just go up there and make sure everything is as it should be is likely smart...

It's not a necessity. I have one, but she's free for me. I'd save the money and use it elsewhere.

Im like emaria...I have a very good friend who happens to plan events part time who is helping me....everything from invitations to directing the wedding to the reception set up.  Another good friend who is organized as all get out is helping with the other areas.  My MOH (sister) will handle the showers, etc..I do recommend either hiring a planner, or asking someone who can help bring your wedding vision to life.  It will help eliminate lots of unneeded stress.

No, we are pretty much doing it all ourselves. It isn't a huge wedding, only 125 people so my fiancee, myself & my mom pretty much have everything planned.
If I had a bigger wedding or a destination wedding like hawaii or vegas then i would have definitely hired a wedding planner.

I'm very fortunate, I have three sisters, 3 sister in-laws, 4 nieces not in the wedding party,  plus my mom and future mom. If you don't have a much in family help maybe look into one for the day of set up if you're worried. Otherwise I wouldn't worry about unless you're in med school, have baby twins, or something else hellishy time consuming to worry about.

well i didnt "hire" one! We have a family friend that i've known since i was born that does weddings and flowers, so its always been known that she would help me! She brings in her "crew" to help with setting up everything. shes great and she has come up with some awesome ideas!

I have one. Not a full on plan my whole wedding coordinator but more like a consultant in the process and a full on coordinator the weekend of the wedding. I wanted to do most of the planning myself but the weekend of the wedding I don't want to worry about anything also I will have two weeks between my law school finals and my wedding so I'm already going to be stressed. I work full time, and I'm a nigh school law student, I wanted someone's help so that I can also focus on school and work.
