Wedding Reception
The 1st Dance-My latest freak out!
Ok, so one of my latest freak outs has been about the 1st dance! We went to one crash course wedding dance class, which taught us one very slow and very basic dance. It's pretty easy, but while I've been in dance my entire life, my fiance has a bit of a hard time counting the steps and moving to the music at the same time. We haven't practiced AT ALL since the first class and I'm just worried that we are going to look completely uncomfortable up there! A part of me just wants to say forget the steps and just have fun! But who knows how that would turn out!!!??? What are you girls doing?

Wedding Day Countdown
19 Days and counting!
OMG! Ok, so I never use that saying, but in this case it is completely appropriate! I can't even believe I'm getting married in 19 days. All this time I've been in go go go mode and it snuck up on me!

So, things are moving right along. There have been some kinks along the way, but for the most part everything that I envisioned is happening. We finished up the CD favors Friday night and are almost finished putting the programs together. Now we just have to make reserved signs and do our seating chart. And of course there are last minute purchases to be made, but I think it might actually all get done! Cross your fingers for me!

At some point, I promise to post picks of our DIY projects!

Happy planning everone!

37 days to go!
Updates
So, I've got a lot going on these days...there's barely time to breathe!

First of all, my dress came in about a week and a half ago! Putting on MY dress was seriously one of my happiest moments ever! I don't have any new pictures of it, but I'm going to my first fitting on Friday and I'll take some pics then!

Secondly, I order my clutch and hair accessories. I can't wait to see them!

And last, but not least, my sis and I went to our hair and makeup trial. I have mixed feelings about it at this point. I LOVED the makeup but I felt like they rushed through the hair and it wasn't exactly what I had hoped for. So, I 'm actually thinking about going to another hair and makeup trial at another salon...cause I'm just made of money apparantly! I honestly can't afford it, but I truly want it to be a special and easy experience to have my hair done on the day of...not one where I feel rushed and unimportant!

And here is the list of big things that still need to get done:

Finish Cutting programs and assemble

Finish Cutting CD labels and assemble the CD cover/seating cards-This will call for a night of crafts and drinks with my girlfriends!

Make Poms

Buy alcohol for the reception

Buy shirts for the guys

Find a pearl bracelet that I actually like!

Order the Ring Bearer attire

Go to one more hair and makeup trial

Final alterations on dress

Bridal Shower #1
It was so fun!
So, I had my first bridal shower, the one that my sister and best friend planned for me. It was soooo perfect. I am the type of person that despises being the center of attention so I was really nervous, but everything was great. There were a FEW embarrasing moments (i.e. talking about sexy underwear in front of FH's mom), but it was a great day overall!

More Flower Girl Stuff
Premade Bow/Sash and another Hair Wreath
I got my Flower girl sash at David's Bridal...the yellow is just slightly lighter than that of my bridesmaid dress, but I don't really think it matters. From a distance it looks right on. And it has a pre-made bow. So, I'm super happy about that...one more thing to check of the list! I am however still struggling with the hair piece. I found another hair wreath that I'm over the moon for, but it's $40.00 bucks. I'm trying to save money anyway I can, so I'm considering making this myself. I think I can do it. It's just a matter of finding the right materials! Whatta ya think?

Wedding Decoration
My Fabulous Etsy Finds!
I am so in love with Etsy!

Image #1 Obviously cake decor. These are completely edible sugar butterflies...so friggin cute!

Image #2 First option for flower girl head wreath (this would be yellow and coral instead of pink)

Image #3 Second option for flower girl head wreath (also in my colors)

Image #4 Third option for flower girl head wreath

Image #5 I want to buy this little tote with my flower girls name on it as a gift for her and put lots of fun things for the wedding day inside!

Images #6-8 These are all hair pieces I'm looking at. I'd be wearing these with a very simple veil. I love the idea of incorporating some yellow, but I'm not sure if it will look right or not. Anyway, I love them all! Please let me know which you like best!

Image #9 This is the clutch I want to purchase. It's got a blue lining so that takes care of my "something blue!"

By the way, did I mention that I have 51 days left! Oh my!

Cheesy DJ
Song Suggestions???
So we met with our DJ this weekend and he's definitely a little on the cheeseball side! He suggested some pretty interesting music for certain parts of the reception. For example when the wedding party walks in, he wants to play some Kenny G style jazz music...that is so not our style!!! So we've been searching for other music that will work. So far we've decided on Daft Punk "One More Time" for the wedding party entrance and Fat Boy Slim "Praise You" for our grande entrance. I'm getting stuck on the family dance/all guest dance songs. His suggestions are "We are Family" and "Celebration". I honestly don't hate those songs...I think they are kind of fun. But I still don't feel like they reflect our style very well. What are you girls using for the wedding party & family dance?

SPARKLERS!
Not allowed to have them!
I'm so sad because I'm not allowed to have sparklers at my wedding reception. I was sooo in love with this idea too! Apparantly they are illegal in Tucson (maybe I should have checked into that!) so no sparklers for us! Does anyone have any other great alternatives to throwing birdseed? I was thinking about lavender or flower petals, but I really wanted something with a little more flare (literally)! Any thoughts ladies?

Flower Girl Sash
Custom Sash Anyone?
Does anyone know where I can have a custom flower girl sash with my own fabric made? I have been in contact with a seller on Etsy, but she must be super busy because she has been taking her dear sweet time getting back to me! I've decided to be on the safe side to look at other options. If you know of anyone or place that does this in AZ, please let me know!

The Veil
I'm in love
I've said all along that I wasn't going to do a veil..that it's far too traditional for me. The wierd thing is the closer the wedding gets, the more traditions I want to incorporate. So, I was just browsing Etsy the other day and I fell in love with this (the first image)! I may not do the exact same floral piece but I want to combine a floral pin of some sort with this veil. I also love pics 2 and 3, but I'm pretty set on the first one. It's so retro looking. I was actually looking at a picture of my mom's wedding the other day and her veil is very similar to this one. Which of course makes me want this one even more!
