Can I be REALLY nosy and get an idea of what everyone is paying??
I'm SO sorry, this is so not cool to ask... but I figure hey, if you don't want to answer you don't have to!

I'm just lost when it comes to the photography... most of the places we've looked at are coming in at around $3000 to $4000!!

That seems like SO much. We finally found one spot that will be closer to the high 2Ks, which is much better but I'm still hesitant.

My neighbour told me she paid $700 for her photos when she got married a few years back! That seems SO cheap, but I think you get what you pay for, and photography means a lot to me!

Please offer your opinions, I'd value anything you have to say on the topic!

$1500.00 for 1 photographer all day , any and as many locations, flush mount album, prints, copyrights and CD with all the pics.

I am paying $2500. That includes 10 hours, 2 photographers and multiple locations & also engagement pictures. High resolution cd, and album. $3k is not outrageous anymore believe it or not.

I guess i must say that i really lucked out.... we just have to  pay for the pictures we want to get developed. Jeffs aunt does photography on the side. She takes amazing photos  i wouldnt want anyone eles to do my wedding

Thanks so much for sharing!  It seems like there is a LOT of variance out there... we don't have a family connection, so we have to go the traditional route.

I think I'm okay with paying the $2600... it includes the following:

10 hours of coverage
2 photographers
100 4x6 prints
50 5x7 prints
An album of 20 8x10 prints
150 thank you cards
All images on disc

I think that's pretty good... we meet with him on Saturday so we'll see what he has for us!

if you are looking for a cost effective way to get GORGEOUS pictures grab a student. :) I went to the Art Institute of Philadelphia, and the photogs are incredible. So, for our wedding, I found a student that i love, and he is charging me $500 !

My photographer starts at $2500. It includes 6 hours of coverage and one assistant. I get a slide show, engagement session and all my finished proofs. Photography has really gone up over the years.

I found a photograpgher for $950--all day (at least until till the last event)
