Wedding Music And Songs
Tentative Choices Thus Far
Music is a huge part of our life and very important to us on our wedding day, it makes choosing songs so difficult.
Processional: I'm Yours - Jason Mraz (Instrumental) We love this, and I think it will be slightly more upbeat walk down the aisle to Recessional: What a Wonderful World/Somewhere Over the Rainbow Melody First Dance: Vanilla Twilight - Owl City or You and I Tonight - Faber Drive these are two of our favorite songs, they describe our relationship to a tee and both are easy to dance to, without being overly cheesy Father Daughter Song: I'll Stand By You - The Pretenders I decided on this while watching Glee (addicted btw) when Finn sings it to the Ultrasound, its not over used and reminds me so much of my relationship with Dad, I'm his little girl and he's always there for me. Might actually use the Glee version, I enjoy it slightly more, I know I'm going to cry at some point during the dance. Mother Son Song: You Raise Me Up - Josh Groban Dave's mother loves Josh Groban, and he feels this is only fitting, she is going to love it and I'll probably bawl lol Cake Cutting: L-O-V-E Nat King Cole Not sure if we are doing the bouquet/garter toss... we'll see |

DIY Wedding
Pinwheel Escort Cards
So even though I've decided to go with flowers for the girls and I (whether they end up being paper or real remains to be seen) I still love pinwheels.
I want to make them and use them as escort cards. This was the result of a trial run. I want to find some funkier patterned paper and will be getting Dave to write the guest names and table numbers on one of the solid points. He has lovely printing! Going on an adventure tonight to find the paper for these and the bouts! I found the instructions on oncewed : http://www.oncewed.com/8233/wedding-blog/diy-wedding/diy-pinwheels-and-ribbon-wands/ so simple! I will be looking out for a shaped hole punch to hide the overlap behind the pin but overall pleased with these! |

Wedding Flowers
Paper Flowers
Okay fellow brides I need your opinions, do you think paper flowers are tacky?
I find these roses very realistic and love how large and full they look. Added bonus they never die.I am not talented or maybe patient enough for these beauties but know a girl who is. I am thinking about using them for the centerpieces instead of the ones my Mom and I tried because they are larger. I want to buy some turquoise and red bottles and have two roses in each, the red bottles would have aqua roses and the aqua vases would have red roses. We don't want large centerpieces, we want to encourage mingling and chatter among tables so I think this would prevent it from being to empty and still pretty. I may even get them for my bouquets, then I could keep it somewhere in our house and its a perfect way to have aqua flowers for the girls, would pop against their red dresses still may go for real flowers for these. Definitely will be getting our Mothers and Grandmothers real rose corsages, maybe I could get a real bouquet and then just keep some of the red centerpiece ones afterwards.... decisions I feel like when I make up my mind its bound to change again lol |

DIY Wedding
Bouts
Real flowers may be making an apperance at our wedding in my bouquet and in corsages/pins for our mothers and grandmothers. Thats about it I love this bout, and plan on making these for the men in our bridal party and Dave, here's hoping I can find some cute beads and buttons and get these underway. Any ideas on where to look for this kind of thing?

Wedding Hair Style
LOVE
So I haven't decided on the whole head piece, veil, fascinator deal yet. I thought I had decided on wearing my hair in a curly side ponytail, but then I saw this..... and my mouth fell open and my heart started up. I think I have found a winner. I emailed a photo to the stylist at the salon at our resort to see if this is "do-able". Fingers crossed it's a yes, will definitely have a trial before hand to avoid disappointment. This is perfect though and would definitely showcase the blonde and brunette contrast I have in my hair!

Wedding Cake
Mini Cupcake & Candy Alternative
We've gone back and forth on this, yes, no and now it's back to yes. Dave mentioned he'd really like to, so we've comprimised yet again! Rather than having the popcorn and cotton candy machine, we'll buy it pre packaged and stick to Kettle corn since it doesn't have to be heated. We are buying individual sized portions, and will have jars of our favorite goodies (black licorice, peppermint sticks and red licorice bits is the decision as of now) on display along with our wedding mini cupcakes. It will be easy to stick to our color scheme with these choices so I think it would nice as an alternative to served dessert, and will be available after supper, and we'll get some bags with our monogram on them so guests can do up a treat bag to take home.
I'm happy Dave has been active in the planning lately even though he's been away with work most of the time I've had him for like a week since Christmas, he's picked out the vests for him and the groomsmen, made a must play list and its so cute how he tries not to step on my toes when he has a suggestion. (Not that he does I want this wedding to reflect him as much as me) Our next major project is figuring out our wedding weekend timeline, getting a headache just thinking about it lol |

DIY Wedding
Out of Town Bags
These are going to be my next diy projects, goodie bags for our guests. Many of them have already booked their hotel rooms or chalets at the resort for the night, I am so excited so I want to put these together for them.
I found this helpful article on ruffledblog.com about what to include in your bags: 10 items every OOT (out-of-town) bag should have: 1. A Thank You card. 2. A Welcome note. 3. Water bottle. 4. A map (theyre often free). Also, a card with directions from the hotel to the venue. 5. Mints, snacks and treats. 6. Decent coffee (or tea). The Starbucks Via coffee comes in small packets of 3 and theres also a pack of 48 for $34.95 on their website. 7. Tickets to a museum, movie or play, and a subway pass is your wedding is in NY. You can also find tourist guides for free! 8. Sunscreen if youre having a beach wedding. 9. A weekend timeline if OOT guests are invited to rehearsal dinner and other wedding events. 10. Advil or Tylenol. So that is what I'm starting with |

Cute Dress
For Rehearsal or Dancing
I heart Forever 21. I got this fun number there, figure I can use it for our Rehearsal and maybe if I find my dress too heavy I can change into this one for dancing the night away

Shoes
Love
These were my boxing day sales find. Steve Maddens, I love them and the best part, they make my dress the ideal length :) meant to be I think so. Another thing I like is they make a little bit taller than my tallest bridesmaid, I found super sweet aqua ballet flats for them so they will be part of their gift bags.
