Centerpieces: Tissue Roses
I love tissue paper! So budget friendly, makes beautiful streamers, flowers or pomanders, it is love love love! These roses are a great solution to our centerpiece dilemma, potentially even our bouquets too... but I do love the pinwheels. I never thought I would be much of a diy bride but am coming to love my projects especially since Dave has been away for work a lot lately, I love to sit down with a project for the night. Hope every one had a happy holidays!

Wedding Invitation
Escort Cards
I think these are perfect ticket style admit one escort cards, they tie in well with our wedding vibes, then again we may just do a seating chart to save on paper or we could use recycled paper hmmm.... since we changed our venue we've cut down our guest list considerably due to space restrictions, from over 100 to 75. We realized why ask someone we talk to once or twice a year to travel across the country and stay in a hotel for our wedding we want it to be the people who are special to us. It's been one of the best decisions we've made so far!

Wedding Dress
It's here :)
Right before the weekend, I recieved the call that my dress was in! I just brought it home and I'm so excited.
I've been through ups and downs with this dress but I'm definitely falling for it again :)

An interesting fact is that this is the only wedding dress I have tried on. Originally when we were going to have a simple no frills wedding I bought my dress from Macy's while in Vegas, it's a beautiful gown, I've actually been able to wear it a few times to formal events but it wasn't anything like my wedding visions. I ended up going to look at dresses with a friend for her wedding, I should have known that would be hard for me since I hadn't done it for myself. I remember seeing that dress and thinking it fit's our day so well and she convinced me to try it on. I am not typically over emotional but I lit up and had tears in my eyes. I remember calling Dave and telling him I was in a real wedding dress and he said get it because he could tell by my voice I was head over heels. As happy as that moment was less than a month later the salon told me they would not be able to bring it in I started to feel like maybe it wasn't meant to be. I had my doubts and remember talking to Dave about it, did I want to go dress shopping again, or did I want to use my original dress. After all it had been very random and rash, it was only one dress.... but it fit those childhood dreams and I think that was the most important part for me, it revived my excitement. I know the day isn't all about the dress, its about the love but hey a pretty dress that you love can't hurt right. I was really frustrated and upset

Dave actually surpised me and called bridal salons looking for one who had the new dress in stock and came to me and said you should go put it on again before pushing it aside. So that is what I did. I left work early the next day drove out to the salon where they grabbed the dress for me. My heart was pounding and stopped a little when I saw the dress. It sounds so cliche and it was, it sparkled in the light and I felt hooked. It felt right stepping into it. I called Dave when I had it on and told him I was still in love with it so he told me if I didn't order it then he would. He is really incredible.

Once the order was in I turned to other wedding plans, but once in a while I would look at pictures of my dress and find myself uncertain. Like I said it was the only dress I had tried onand I see so many gorgeous gowns on modeled photos, on wedding blogs, here on WBC and I thought why didn't I try on more, it wouldn't have hurt. Then I became critical of the beading on the bodice, wondering if it was too much. Then wondering would I look better in a different style, so many questions and nitpickiness on my part. Of course seeing the new 2010 collections coming out just added a lot more doubt to the mix. But there will always be something else concerning things like wedding dresses.

When I answered the phone the other night and was told it was in, my mixed emotions surfaced again, I had butteflies. I just went in today to pick it up because I had to bring it home and I knew Dave would be away for the day. Wen I tried it on I loved it again. The model's photos don't do it justice in my opinion the detailing is much more subtle in person. It sparkles and shimmers but is not over powering, it is puffy without need for a crinoline, theback fans out like a peacocks tail eathers, it is kind of breathtaking. I really do feel like a princess in this gown and despite our ups and downs I think it is going to work out great for our big day :)

More Balloons & Pomanders Too
When I saw this picture, my heart skipped a beat, it's perfect! The only difference is our ceremony is on a deck overlooking the resort property with a lake in the background, and I would probably go with red balloons, those pomanders are adorable though. Another route I could do with the bridesmaids... or as aisle decorations and then find somewhere for them at the reception. Love the aqua color. Dave and I have actually found ourselves quite fond of aqua and red together more so than yellow and red so we've branched off with that. It gives me so much joy that we are finding things we want for our big day and getting so much inspiration for our wedding together it makes for a very happy Ellie! I enjoy nothing more than being able to see a visual of an idea and adapt it to our wedding.

Red Balloons and Ribbon Streamers
I love these photos, the whole wedding they came from is just adorable, but these are my favorite.

If the weather cooperates our ceremony will be outdoors, with beautiful views so we don't plan on decorating that location, it will just be the chairs for the guests, and a table so we and our witnesses can sign afterwards, the table marks the center of the deck like an altar and I think that two oversized red balloons would look great on either side, simple without taking away from nature but a hint of whats to come later and then they can be used for photo props :D

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
A Non Traditional E Ring
Dave had my e ring custom made for me and I adore it, its white gold set with small diamonds around the band and the focal point is the center star shape, we are getting the same jeweller to make a matching band fit with it and Dave has yet to decide what he wants for his wedding band. I love that its unique, he wants to get me something with a bigger center diamond but I've told him no, its far too precious for me to replace it with anything else!

Wedding Hair Style
Theres just something about curly side ponytails, all images found via www.rocknrollbride.com I love this wedding day hairstyle, wonder if it would work on me with all my layers though.... I'll have to do a trial soon :)

Her hair is amazing

Love that bolero!

I adore her yellow converse!

Seems like a birdcage veil is best suited to this style, I have not ordered the one I have posted so the search is ongoing, lots of lovely affordable options on etsy or maybe another diy project, we'll see!
