Bridesmaids
Thoughts.
I found this dress and I love the champagne color. Since my dress has some champagne, I am thinking about having some champagne instead of white incorporated. I wanted thoughts as to if this would fit in my theme and how I could use it. I was thinking the champagne with red sash. I should add, this dress is just for the maid of honor.

Things are looking up
Money
Things are really looking up for us. My fiance just started working at a job which pays more than any other job he's had. This being said, we can save more money and with our tax check next year, we should have no problem being able to afford our wedding for July 13th, 2013. I don't think I've written on here about why July 13th is really a big deal to us. (Even though we've changed our date a THOUSAND times, it really is perfect). 4 reasons why we chose this date: 1) my brother, who is a groomsman will be away at college in August which is our deadline. 2) July 10th is our anniversary, but a weekday in 2013. 3) 13 is my fiance's favorite number. 4) July 13th is my late grandmother's birthday. I was very close to her. I wasn't a mommy's girl or daddy's girl. I was a grandma's girl. And when she passed, she was the first close relative to go. I grew up wishing for her to be there on my special day and when my kids were born. She wasn't there to see my children born and won't be there to see me on my wedding day. But she is watching over me. She is my guardian angel. This day means so much and I don't know why I didn't choose it before.

Mother's Day
I love my mom!
Now that Mother's Day is tomorrow, I am just so excited to see my mom's expression when she opens the gift I made/ bought for her. I am a mother of 2 myself, but with our tight finances, I don't expect anything from my fiance. I am just happy being with my kids. Now, on another note, I love my mom so much. Since I don't have a lot of money, I decided to make something for her that would mean a lot to her. I created this collage in the picture and printed it at Walmart and bought a frame. I am very artsy BTW so I knew I could put my creativity to good use. (My boys are the one in the top right corner and the middle at the bottom of the photo.) This collage is of all her grandchildren. She is in the middle holding my sister's dog. My sister can't have kids so I wanted to include one of her babies (dogs). My sister is married, though, and has 4 step children who are pictured. I just had to share because I just love how it turned out and I love my mom!

First wedding item
Free!
Besides my dress being purchased, we had nothing bought for the wedding yet. My friend came over to let us borrow her lawn mower and she brought this serving kit for our wedding. She is having her reception at a country club that cuts and serves her cake for her. She only bought this for $9 and was going to return it but thought I would want it instead. I love it. And I am going to add red or maybe red AND black ribbon around it.

What's your favorite?
A lot of brides love creating a wedding website to express their excitement. There are a lot of different ones i.e. The Knot, Mywedding.com, Weddingwire.com, etc. What website did you use to create yours and why? I created mine on weddingwire.com and I love it because you can add music, links to hotels, entertainment, sites for out of state visitors, registry info, etc.

Suggestions
I have found TONS of 40's music we can play, but I am having a really hard deciding what songs would be best for the ceremony! I also was hoping to have a band playing at the reception but that can get expensive and I don't know how to achieve that.

Everything...confused
I've shown my family and some other people our idea for the complete 40's wedding. I want to either use hats or bows for my girls. My dad thinks the hats I've looked at look like 60's hats. I don't think so. I just wondered if anyone had some real vintage 40 hat pictures that could tell me if mine are truly 40's or not. Also, I can't decide whether we should play 40's music throughout the whole reception or just part of it. Mike thinks we should only play it part of the reception because people will get bored.

Wedding Budget
The cheaper the better (and sooner)
We don't really have a set date. It all depends on money. Our wedding really shouldn't cost that much considering our venues we shouldn't have to pay for. The church, we are members at, and most churches, if you have a membership, you don't have to pay anything. The reception hall doesn't charge a room fee, but you have to go with their catering which at cheapest, is $17.95 per person. We have all the other things to worry about too. Flowers, music, decorations, ring (for him), photography (which shouldn't be expensive knowing a lot of photographer friends), and invitations. I'm thinking if I play it out right, we won't have to go more than $5,000 for our total budget. Pretty good, huh???? I'm just hoping it's sooner rather than later that we can get married because I'm tired of changing dates!
