Ask a Question
should i get more table linens?
I bought these turquoise table covers for the reception. They are crushed silk. We are having a beach wedding so its more fun and casual. They are round, 72 inches or so. Should I buy another table cover to go underneath these so that the tables are covered to the floor? Our wedding color is mainly turquoise. We will be having accents of fushia, (maybe) a bright citrus orange and a touch of lime green for the ceremony, not to much at the reception, unless you count the wedding parties bouquets. If you think I should add linens underneath, are you thinking white??

Bridesmaids
we decided on their dresses!
We have looked at a few dresses. The look that I want is very casual and beachy, but still dressed up. Also I want them to be able to wear the dresses again. They have decided on this mori lee dress in white with either a tuquoise, fuschia or orange sash. The mohs will probably wear turquoise since it is the main wedding color. The fuschia and orange I will just divide between the bridesmaids. They will also be wearing foot jewelry instead of being just plain barefoot.

reception look
So i have been on google a lot lately looking for some inspiration. I needed to make sure that my vision was clear to me and my wedding planner. I came across several idea boards, but this one takes the cake. It is so beautiful. I just love it. It has the same romantic beach feel that I am trying to achieve and in my main color scheme. I will also be adding a touch of lime green and citrus orange (mainly for the flowers).
The bar setting looks like a club that I went to back in the day, but I like it. It just screams "come over here and get a drink." haha. I have been thinking about linens and I think that I am going to keep the white table covers. (why pay for color when I can add a touch of color myself.) For the centerpieces that do not have the natural weave placemats underneath them, I will just add a touch of turquoise tulle. I am still not sure about the candy bar. I love this color scheme, but we are not 100% on the favors yet. We are going to have other "bars" at our rehearsal dinner and our morning after brunch. I guess we will just have to wait it out and see. If we do decide to have one, this is a perfect look. I would probably add some orange candy also. |

Ask a Question
Who loves slurpees?
Sooooo, I almost forgot what tomorrow was. But my sister, who loves me so much just called to remind me. FREE SLURPEES at 7-11. I can't wait. Yes, I know the free slurpee is only a 7.11 oz cup, but hey, its free. If you are lucky enough to have stores that change the flavors then you can sample the new flavors for free. Or maybe you just want to keep it simple and stick to the regular coke or cherry flavor. Whatever you are feeling, just dont forget to stop by 7-11 on your way home and grab a free slurpee. If you are one of the lucky few, they have limited birthday cups for the slurpees. Enjoy your day and go celebrate 7-11 day!

my shells and boats came in
Wow! Im so excited! Thank you UPS for not mishandling them. None of them are broken.
Im so glad I purchased them because they will add that extra beachy feel to the reception decoration. They are a lot bigger than I expected them to be. The best part is that they only cost $1.00. I'm so happy I know I have plenty of time before the wedding, but our goal is to come in under budget. The champagne glasses are perfect for the reception also. They match our colors. The picture of this set up I found online, but I love it and I have that "fishbowl" so I will be able to decorate it just like our centerpieces. |

centerpieces
I decided on our centerpieces. I have found many pics online and have decided to use a few elements from each one to make up the ones that will look the best for our wedding. We are going to have a combination of sand, starfish and shells and a turquoise candle in the tall centerpiece(like the pic shown). In the short centerpieces we are going to have flat round bowls and they are going to be filled with water and white, green and blue sea glass with floating orchids. I bought the shell tealight holders from yankee candle on sale for $1.00 (thanks to a knottie psa) and they will be on the table along with the table number, two turquoise votives, sea glass and some small shells scattered around. We also purchased the natural weave placemats on clearance at walmart.

Flower girls
how adorable!
I know that I do not want my flower girls to wear little white dresses, especially because we will be getting married on the beach. While spending hours online looking at wedding pictures I found these tutus and I fell in love. I am looking foward to seeing the girls all dressed up.
My boys will all be in the wedding too. They will be wearing an outfit like the one pictured...casual, comfy and beachy. |

trash the dress
Now I haven't 100% decided if I am going to actually use my wedding dress during the trash the dress wedding photos. (the day after) I know that that is the whole concept of the photoshoot, but honestly I can see myself wearing my wedding dress again. (Shorten the train and it will be a perfect military ball gown.) Keeping that in mind, I purchased another dress. I bought the JCrew Avery dress for the TTD photoshoot from craigslist . What a great deal...new with tags and in the shopping bag.

Ask a Question
bridal party invites???
I always knew that I wanted to ask my girls in a special way. I have been looking through so many blogs and bios and I finally came across the invite that I wanted. It is perfect because it is something that is meaningful to my bridal party. A VERY BIG THANKS to Jen at www.jenwoodhouse.com. She is amazing. I loved her invites and I asked her for directions or a template, unfortunately my laptop didn't have the program. She was so nice and so helpful that she created the design for me. They are printing right now . (I wish they would hurry up, but I want them to look perfect, so I put the printer on a slower speed.) In her own words, "Positive energy only breeds positive energy." She is so correct.
Thank you Jen, you made me a happy bride-to-be. Are you making invites for your bridal party? How did you choose the design? Did you send out gifts also? (I'm still debating what I want to send out with them. I found some really cute ideas on theknot. |

first post (and im so excited)
about us
WOW! Sooooo I'm obviously here for a reason and that reason is what brings a smile to my face. He is so amazing and he is what I needed to make my heart whole again.
Lintuan and I met in March 2007. We officially became a couple in June and we became expectant parents at the end of June. (oops...lol) We welcomed a beautiful baby boy on March 15, 2008. I have 2 older boys. He proposed on May 10 and of course I said yes. We are planning a May 29, 2010 wedding. We had discussed marriage, but with an upcoming deployment, we did just that, discuss it. We were getting ready to leave to go visit my family, but i had just bought a sofa table and I needed help getting it out of the truck and into the house. I told him I would open up the garage if he would get the table. I was getting impatient so I went inside to go get him (to cuss him out). When I walked in the room our son was laying on the bed with some *bling*bling* on his fingers. I was in total shock. He asked me to be his wife and I said YES! It was so wonderful. I was not expecting it and we both were all choked up. Right now we are planning a wedding after his tour in Iraq is over. I really want a beachside wedding and he said that was fine but it had to be stateside. So the great debate began between Texas, my home state and Georgia, his home state. So any ideas for beaches?? |
