Anyone else gain a few since saying "I Do?"
So we got married in May 2009 and it is now the end of December...I have gained more than a couple pounds since our wedding and I am going crazy...especially since I REALLY went nuts over the holidays eating everything in sight...well now the holidays are over and our Honeymoon cruise is just a couple months away...(March 14th) I am so nervous I wanted to be the size I was the day we got married, but I don't know if that's going to happen.
Am I the only one that gained weight after they got married??? I didn't think it would happen, but a couple pounds every week really adds up and I am so depressed and mad at myself for letting myself go. Here is to hoping I can lose 10-15 in a couple months..wish me luck! |

We met him on our Wedding Day in Vegas!!!
How exciting that Donny Osmond won Dancing With The Stars ;) I'm still in love with Demetri Chaplin from So You Think You Can Dance...(who did dance with probably the better partner Mya), but I actually met and got my picture with Donny Osmond on our Wedding Day....so I was rooting for Donny to win this season and I thought it was about time that his partner Kym Johnson finally won too. =D Thoughts? Does anyone else watch that show??  |

Yay I'm excited New Moon is FINALLY in theaters!!! My husband and I are going tonight (he isn't too thrilled about it..LOL, but he owes me for going to Harry Potter with him forever ago)...probably going to have to throw a couple shoulders to push past all the pre-teens to get a good seat...but we have our tickets!!! Who else is going or went to the midnight show last night???

It doesn't seem like it's been 10 years since I've been in High School, but I guess it has! Time flies huh?! It's weird how much everyone has changed-most were married WITH kids...what a difference 10 years makes. ;)
I did enjoy High School, but I also was happy to graduate -I was Class Treasurer my Junior and Senior Years -I was Prom Princess my Junior Year For Mock Elections our Senior Year I was voted: "Most Cheerful", "Never on Time" (lol), "Class Clown", "Talks too Much", "Class Prankster", and "Worst Driver" (lol) Did you have a Class Reunion yet? Vegas-the entire day! I loved the photo tour of the Las Vegas strip, making a life long friend with Michelle our photographer!, Meeting and getting my picture with Donny Osmond!, having our relatives and Gretchen and Travis all there with us (it was such a big trip to make for a wedding!), walking down the aisle with my dad =), crying when I didn't think I would during our vows, pictures and the view on the outside observation deck! Michigan-the whole day/night was a blur-mingling was all I could think about trying to thank everyone! I was so thankful for the pictures when we got them back! My favorite part of the Reception was definitely the first dance (that we practiced for), father/daughter dance, THE CAKE!!!, and just talking to everyone! Have you ever worn a convertible dress???
I am seriously considering buying this dress-watch the video...but it's $150 so if this dress isn't as easy to wear as the commercial makes it look then I'm not going to waste my time. I'm just thinking it would be the PERFECT dress to have for our Honeymoon cruise (the material would pack really nice I bet) also for future functions such as Wedding Receptions and whatnot....like I said do any of you own one of these or have you tried one before???? Opinions?

We booked our Caribbean Cruise Honeymoon for March 14th-March 21st!!!! We will be leaving out of Tampa, Florida on the Carnival Cruise ship The Legend and stopping at:
*Grand Cayman Island *Belize *Roatan *Cozumel, Mexico We are VERY excited...can't wait start planning and booking our excursions....I know we definitely want to do the zipline in Belize, and Jake wants to swim with Dolphins at one of the ports (most likely Cozumel) The rest is up in the air... Any recommendations? Cruise Tips? Caribbean Tips???    |

I wish I had found this website BEFORE our wedding in Las Vegas! The girls on there seem to get back to you or offer really encouraging responses really quickly too! (Just like on here!) For the brides who already got married Destination Wedding style like myself, there are forums to post a review and forums for Honeymoons (even if you aren't a Destination Wedding Bride) definately worth checking out!!!!! What annoying questions are you sick of answering?!
I somehow responded to this and it deleted my whole post =(
Anyways I'll repost it cause it was so funny-I did hit backspace and copy and paste all the responses from before-YAY! =D I was wondering what questions everyone was sick of answering-I know when I was planning our wedding the ones I was so annoyed with were. "Are you excited?" Um DUH...I'm getting married...lol I usually just said yea really excited or something like that. "How is the planning coming along?" I'd usually start to answer this one with how the wedding was coming along and their eyes would glaze over so I started just saying "Fine" and changing the subject haha and now that we are married the questions that are driving me nuts are: "Sooo how do you like being married?" Huh...how do you even ANSWER that?! I read on another wedding board that I'm on where a girl said "We're satisfied customers so far" I've been using that lol Then of course "When are you going to have some kids?" I don't even know if we WANT kids...haha.. SO WHAT QUESTIONS DRIVE YOU INSANE?!?!?! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sapphire2009 the kids question. I HAAAAAAAAAAAATE when people ask about kids. if I had it my way, we'd probably never have any, but I've compromised and agreed to having kids at 30. The other one is "why are you stressed out?" what?! you have to ask WHY I'm stressed out?! We are pretty much set on a Western Caribbean cruise for our Honeymoon this coming March.
The cruises we're looking into stop at Belize, Roatan, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman and we're definitely going to get a balcony room. Moto GP Weekend-Motorcycles on Meridian and our Whirlpool Suite =)
The 2009 Indianapolis Moto GP was so much fun I'm going to cover it in two different posts.
*Motorcycles on the Meridian-Downtown Indy This was part of the Moto GP events-they had several vendors and custom bikes on display here are some of the pictures we took. They also had the XDL motorcycle stunt show going on-those guys were amazing! Pictures do them no justice, but just the same...here are a few pictures! *Pictures of our Whirlpool Hotel Suite We stayed at the Fairfield Marriott Inn and Suites in Indianapolis-all I can say is...ahhhhhh I wish we would have stayed LONGER-that bed and whirlpool were like heaven! =D P.S. We are headed down to Indianapolis today (about a 7 hour drive) for the Moto GP races...should be a fun weekend! Jake is SUPER excited. He watches the races religiously on tv and said that he would kill to see one live...so I started looking into the Indianapolis tickets before we got married and bought the tickets....they weren't cheap and there was quite a bit of research involved, cause I know little to nothing about the sport and I wanted to surprise him. There are only two races in the United States, these races are usually overseas.
I also booked us a Whirlpool Suite...YAY....I'm REALLY excited about this little "mini-moon" LOL |

I haven't been on here much (it's been a busy summer) just wanted to post some Reception pictures so you could see how much fun the Reception in Michigan was. (For details on the cake, decorations, and special dances..there are other posts below.)
For anyone considering a Destination Wedding and a Reception a couple weeks later in their home state...I HIGHLY recommend it-we had a BLAST at both! Our Las Vegas wedding at the Top of the Stratosphere was amazing and an experience that nobody will ever forget (especially us!) and the whole week in Vegas was so much FUN! (There are TONS of pictures in my other posts of that.) The Reception was in Northern Michigan two weeks after we got back from Las Vegas and went off without a hitch...it helps that I am VERY O.C.D. and crazy about details...so I had everything organized well in advance...otherwise I suggest maybe having your wedding and reception more spaced out to give yourself time! It did seem to come QUICK when we got back from Vegas..but it all went VERY smooth...and I wouldn't change a thing =D If anyone has any questions-feel free to ask. |

How long did it take to do your Thank You's???
We had a Destination Wedding at the Top of the Stratosphere in Las Vegas at the end of May and our Reception in Michigan was June 13th and we've only sent out maybe 40 of our Thank You Cards!
I know that sounds awful doesn't it?! Am I the only one that can't seem to find the time to sit down and write out 300 or so Thank You's?! This summer has been soooo busy. I pretty much have the format down of what we need to say in the Thank You Cards, but I just can't seem to find the time or the motivation to do them and I feel so damn guilty about it!!!! Also am I the only one that is writing a fricken novel in our Thank You Cards? How long of a Thank You Card are you girls writing??? Maybe that's my problem I put too much time into each one....lol It only took me a week to get all my Shower Thank You notes out-wish I would have done our Wedding ones that quick so they would be done already! |

I joined on 9-3-08 to be exact..I found out about Wedding By Color by googling different things like "red/white cake" and "red, black, white wedding decorations" and "vegas destination wedding" and stumbled upon this site and it was love at first sight =D I just wondered how long some ago some of you guys joined up on Wedding By Color too? A week ago? Month ago? Year ago? Longer??? It would be interesting to find out who has been on here the longest and if they still check in to help out with girls frantically needing wedding planning help =) Also how did you find out about Wedding By Color? Did someone tell you about it or were you just aimlessly searching for ideas like me? |

My dad and I danced to "Daddy's Little Girl" by Al Martino and Jake and his mom danced to Johnny Cash's version of "In My Life".
My dad started to tear up towards the end of the song...awwww, which of course in turn made me cry..it was very sweet =) Jake and his mom looked so cute dancing...Jake and I took dance lessons for our first dance, so I think his mom was quite impressed that he knew how to dance =) |

I almost didn't want to cut into the damn things I loved them so much! (ALMOST!) In case you guys don't remember it was one of the first posts I did on here....the CAKE was one of my favorite parts of getting married LOL!
My Aunt did our Wedding Cake as a gift and she did an AMAZING JOB! Las Vegas-Downtown-The Freemont Street Experience
We had to go downtown to get our Marriage License the first night we got to Las Vegas anyways so we figured we'd check out the Freemont Street Experience while we were down there. I'm so glad we did-Downtown Las Vegas was so much fun...there is so much to do down there and everything is quite a bit cheaper too....two of my relatives each won $200 and $250 on the slots in Downtown Las Vegas too...so I guess maybe the slots are looser too? (maybe?) Anyways we all had a lot of fun and the Freemont Street Light Shows are really something to see!
We saw a Memorial Day one (since it was Memorial Day) and we also saw The Don Mclean-American Pie one they were both really cool! We also checked out the swimming pool at the Golden Nugget Casino and Hotel (I am a big shark lover) and in their swimming pool they have a slide that goes through a shark tank..how cool is that?! No you can't ACTUALLY swim with the sharks...it's more or less a big tube that goes through an aquarium, but I still loved it =D |

 My husband...errrr George Clooney's wife?! WTF?? haha I Love the Rock! No Really...I LOVE THE ROCK! Screw you Angelina...Brad is mine! Jake has an obsession with Motorcycles...oh yea and there is Wolverine behind him =D Jake and Nicolas Cage...cool I love all movies with Nicolas Cage =D Alright Alright...me and my sister with Matthew Mcconaughey Me with young Elvis...who looks NOTHING like Young Elvis in my opinion Me with Older Elvis...the sign said something about please stay off stage...WHATEVER =P Me and Dino...I love Dean Martin! The Venetian...damn that's a good picture =D Look I'm in Italy..sort of Jake in Italy...kind of This is it...Jake's dad face...LOL!!! LOVE IT! Awww Gondolas are fun Jake's parents with the Gondola Guy The inside of the Venetian...the ceiling looks like the sky...so pretty =D                  |
Las Vegas-Venetian-Wax Museum and Gondola Ride
I'm going to combine these two experiences into one post even though we did them on different days since they were both at the Venetian Casino and Hotel =D
The wax museum was a riot (we did this in 2007 when we got engaged too)...and had a blast, they took some of the wax figures out and put in new ones...but they still had both Elvis wax figures..THANK GOD...and The Rock...sigh. =D The Gondola Ride we didn't do in 2007 and it was on the list for this trip of MUST DO! I'm glad we did it...it was so funny when the guy driving the gondola started singing-the look on Jake's dads face is priceless LOL!!!!! |

Las Vegas-2009 World Series of Poker!
We went to the 2009 World Series of Poker at the Rio while we were in Las Vegas. I LOVE playing poker and watching it on tv..... I was so excited to get close and take pictures of some of the greatest poker players ever (and meet Andy Bloch!) it was one of the highlights of our trip...you know BESIDES getting married of course LOL =D

 The Flamingo Another View of the Flamingo Our really cool bathroom (check out the tv in the bathroom mirror!!!) PINK LIGHTS IN THE SHOWER! King size pillowtop bed-NICE!!! And electronic window treatments...sigh =D 42" flat panel television set and Cd player with Ipod hookup! Desk and bed A little couch thing that you could watch the Bellagio fountains from...and a mini fridge =) We were directly across from Caesars...love the view!          |
Las Vegas-Our Go Room at the Flamingo Casino and Hotel
We had originally just booked a regular room at the Flamingo, but then decided what the hell you only get married once...so we upgraded to the Flamingo GO Room...and LOVED it...we even had a view of the Bellagio Fountains from our room...hello! =D
We really weren't in our room all that much-cause I mean it's VEGAS BABY! The day of the wedding I did get quite a bit of use out of the room though, because I didn't have my hair or makeup done until Makeup in the 702 showed up and I sure as hell wasn't leaving the room without any makeup on and my hair looking crazy...so yea...I used the room that day a lot =D Also the tv in the bathroom mirror was so cool as far as getting ready to go and doing your hair on the other days we were there...loved that! The pink lights in the bathroom...also VERY COOL...for um...showering purposes LOL! Anyways if you're in Vegas and are considering the upgrade...I say go for it..I think it was an extra $160 for 5 days which works out to something like $32 more a day...it was worth it!!!!!!!
