It is our 1 Year Anniversary already! To think this time last year we were getting married at the Top of the Stratosphere in Las Vegas and having our dream Destination Wedding! =D Time sure did fly...loving every minute of it! For our Anniversary Jake bought me 1 carat diamond earrings from Zales and we are going back to the Moto GP (motorcycle race) in Indianapolis in August. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 GRAND CAYMAN We booked the Royal Dolphin Swim excursion independently with Dolphin Discovery-this is the only excursion we didn't book through Carnival and I was a little worried about it since we had to worry about the time, our own transportation, if we didn't make port-trying to reschedule (they didn't do refunds only a one year credit)...but absolutely no problems we woke up and it was a GORGEOUS day in Grand Cayman!!! The reason we didn't book through Carnival was because Carnival didn't offer the ROYAL DOLPHIN SWIM only the Encounter I believe it was...and we wanted to do it all! This is what the Royal Dolphin Swim includes: Foot Push, Dorsal Tow, Kiss, Dolphin Song, Handshake, Free Time with Dolphins. It was soooooooo worth it! I think it was $160 per person and that included free admission to the Turtle Farm across the street as well. So we tendered into Grand Cayman at 9:00ish walked around taking pictures and of course tracked down Big Black Dick...to my surprise there was more than one Big Black Dick in town...(he gets around apparently) so I got a picture with both of them-mature I know (and wouldn't you know I think those pictures got almost as many comments on Facebook as our Dolphin ones LOL!) Our excursion was at 11:00 a.m. and I wasn't sure exactly how far away Dolphin Discovery was so we started looking for a cab (not realizing that Grand Cayman was behind so we were WAY early) We found a cab and he charged us $31 for both of us...now here is the funny part on the way back we were only charged $5 for both of us (that cab driver drove like a maniac though-laughed my butt off I didn't know they bargained on cab prices..) Ok we got to Dolphin Discovery and had about an 1 1/2 hours to kill at the turtle farm-hey better early than late I suppose! It was pretty neat to see, but definitely doesn't take an 1 1/2 hours to go through. It's Dolphin time!!! We get suited up and watch a short video and we are ready to swim with the dolphins! What an experience-I highly recommend it! Stay tuned for our other ports and excursions from the cruise!

Besides I am a PLANNER -I like to look forward to a vacation for a long time so booking this cruise in September was perfect for us and definitely gave us something to look forward to over the long cold snowy winter of Northern Michigan! March 14th, 2010 When we first pulled up and saw the Legend-it is JUST LIKE EVERYONE SAYS-the ship looks HUGE! We were sooooo excited! We arrived at the port at around noon and went through the process of the lines and as soon as we got on the ship "PICTURE!" Im a picture-a-holic. We were in AWE and had no idea what or where to gobut we were loving it already! If you ever take a cruise out of Tampa don't miss when the cruise ship goes under the Skyway Bridge! I loved the formal dress up evening too so much fun! Stay tuned for the excursions and ports we stopped at!

I am sooooo excited we leave in 3 weeks!!! We have pretty much decided we are going to do an excursion at every port stop..hey you only have ONE HONEYMOON right...might as well live it up! As of now we are planning- *Belize-Zip Line Adventure *Roatan- Snorkeling *Cozumel-Tulum Ruins *Grand Cayman-Swim with Dolphins Does anyone know what all we should be packing for a cruise...I know there are 2 formal nights other than that I feel like we are going to have a shit-ton of luggage...I tend to overpack!!!! If anyone has a packing list or tips for what to pack on a cruise let me know!!!!

So we got married in May 2009 and it is now the end of December...I have gained more than a couple pounds since our wedding and I am going crazy...especially since I REALLY went nuts over the holidays eating everything in sight...well now the holidays are over and our Honeymoon cruise is just a couple months away...(March 14th) I am so nervous I wanted to be the size I was the day we got married, but I don't know if that's going to happen. Am I the only one that gained weight after they got married??? I didn't think it would happen, but a couple pounds every week really adds up and I am so depressed and mad at myself for letting myself go. Here is to hoping I can lose 10-15 in a couple months..wish me luck!

How exciting that Donny Osmond won Dancing With The Stars ;) I'm still in love with Demetri Chaplin from So You Think You Can Dance...(who did dance with probably the better partner Mya), but I actually met and got my picture with Donny Osmond on our Wedding Day....so I was rooting for Donny to win this season and I thought it was about time that his partner Kym Johnson finally won too. =D Thoughts? Does anyone else watch that show??

Yay I'm excited New Moon is FINALLY in theaters!!! My husband and I are going tonight (he isn't too thrilled about it..LOL, but he owes me for going to Harry Potter with him forever ago)...probably going to have to throw a couple shoulders to push past all the pre-teens to get a good seat...but we have our tickets!!! It doesn't seem like it's been 10 years since I've been in High School, but I guess it has! Time flies huh?! It's weird how much everyone has changed-most were married WITH kids...what a difference 10 years makes. ;) I did enjoy High School, but I also was happy to graduate -I was Class Treasurer my Junior and Senior Years -I was Prom Princess my Junior Year For Mock Elections our Senior Year I was voted: "Most Cheerful", "Never on Time" (lol), "Class Clown", "Talks too Much", "Class Prankster", and "Worst Driver" (lol) Did you have a Class Reunion yet? I am seriously considering buying this dress-watch the video...but it's $150 so if this dress isn't as easy to wear as the commercial makes it look then I'm not going to waste my time. We booked our Caribbean Cruise Honeymoon for March 14th-March 21st!!!! We will be leaving out of Tampa, Florida on the Carnival Cruise ship The Legend and stopping at: *Grand Cayman Island *Belize *Roatan *Cozumel, Mexico We are VERY excited...can't wait start planning and booking our excursions....I know we definitely want to do the zipline in Belize, and Jake wants to swim with Dolphins at one of the ports (most likely Cozumel) The rest is up in the air... Any recommendations? Cruise Tips? Caribbean Tips???

I wish I had found this website BEFORE our wedding in Las Vegas! The girls on there seem to get back to you or offer really encouraging responses really quickly too! (Just like on here!) I somehow responded to this and it deleted my whole post =( Anyways I'll repost it cause it was so funny-I did hit backspace and copy and paste all the responses from before-YAY! =D I was wondering what questions everyone was sick of answering-I know when I was planning our wedding the ones I was so annoyed with were. "Are you excited?" Um DUH...I'm getting married...lol I usually just said yea really excited or something like that. "How is the planning coming along?" I'd usually start to answer this one with how the wedding was coming along and their eyes would glaze over so I started just saying "Fine" and changing the subject haha and now that we are married the questions that are driving me nuts are: "Sooo how do you like being married?" Huh...how do you even ANSWER that?! I read on another wedding board that I'm on where a girl said "We're satisfied customers so far" I've been using that lol Then of course "When are you going to have some kids?" I don't even know if we WANT kids...haha.. We are pretty much set on a Western Caribbean cruise for our Honeymoon this coming March. The cruises we're looking into stop at Belize, Roatan, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman and we're definitely going to get a balcony room. 2009 Indianapolis Moto GP - My wedding gift to Jake!

The 2009 Indianapolis Moto GP was so much fun I'm going to cover it in two different posts. *Motorcycles on the Meridian-Downtown Indy This was part of the Moto GP events-they had several vendors and custom bikes on display here are some of the pictures we took. They also had the XDL motorcycle stunt show going on-those guys were amazing! Pictures do them no justice, but just the same...here are a few pictures! *Pictures of our Whirlpool Hotel Suite We stayed at the Fairfield Marriott Inn and Suites in Indianapolis-all I can say is...ahhhhhh I wish we would have stayed LONGER-that bed and whirlpool were like heaven! =D P.S. No we did not use the phone in the bathroom HA!

We are headed down to Indianapolis today (about a 7 hour drive) for the Moto GP races...should be a fun weekend! Jake is SUPER excited. He watches the races religiously on tv and said that he would kill to see one live...so I started looking into the Indianapolis tickets before we got married and bought the tickets....they weren't cheap and there was quite a bit of research involved, cause I know little to nothing about the sport and I wanted to surprise him. There are only two races in the United States, these races are usually overseas. I also booked us a Whirlpool Suite...YAY....I'm REALLY excited about this little "mini-moon" LOL

I haven't been on here much (it's been a busy summer) just wanted to post some Reception pictures so you could see how much fun the Reception in Michigan was. (For details on the cake, decorations, and special dances..there are other posts below.) For anyone considering a Destination Wedding and a Reception a couple weeks later in their home state...I HIGHLY recommend it-we had a BLAST at both! Our Las Vegas wedding at the Top of the Stratosphere was amazing and an experience that nobody will ever forget (especially us!) and the whole week in Vegas was so much FUN! (There are TONS of pictures in my other posts of that.) The Reception was in Northern Michigan two weeks after we got back from Las Vegas and went off without a hitch...it helps that I am VERY O.C.D. and crazy about details...so I had everything organized well in advance...otherwise I suggest maybe having your wedding and reception more spaced out to give yourself time! It did seem to come QUICK when we got back from Vegas..but it all went VERY smooth...and I wouldn't change a thing =D If anyone has any questions-feel free to ask.

Ask a Question - How long did it take to do your Thank You's???

We had a Destination Wedding at the Top of the Stratosphere in Las Vegas at the end of May and our Reception in Michigan was June 13th and we've only sent out maybe 40 of our Thank You Cards! I know that sounds awful doesn't it?! Am I the only one that can't seem to find the time to sit down and write out 300 or so Thank You's?! This summer has been soooo busy. I pretty much have the format down of what we need to say in the Thank You Cards, but I just can't seem to find the time or the motivation to do them and I feel so damn guilty about it!!!! Also am I the only one that is writing a fricken novel in our Thank You Cards? How long of a Thank You Card are you girls writing??? Maybe that's my problem I put too much time into each one....lol It only took me a week to get all my Shower Thank You notes out-wish I would have done our Wedding ones that quick so they would be done already!

That's almost a year =D I joined on 9-3-08 to be exact..I found out about Wedding By Color by googling different things like "red/white cake" and "red, black, white wedding decorations" and "vegas destination wedding" and stumbled upon this site and it was love at first sight =D I just wondered how long some ago some of you guys joined up on Wedding By Color too? A week ago? Month ago? Year ago? Longer??? It would be interesting to find out who has been on here the longest and if they still check in to help out with girls frantically needing wedding planning help =) Also how did you find out about Wedding By Color? Did someone tell you about it or were you just aimlessly searching for ideas like me?

My dad and I danced to "Daddy's Little Girl" by Al Martino and Jake and his mom danced to Johnny Cash's version of "In My Life". My dad started to tear up towards the end of the song...awwww, which of course in turn made me cry..it was very sweet =) Jake and his mom looked so cute dancing...Jake and I took dance lessons for our first dance, so I think his mom was quite impressed that he knew how to dance =)

I almost didn't want to cut into the damn things I loved them so much! (ALMOST!) In case you guys don't remember it was one of the first posts I did on here....the CAKE was one of my favorite parts of getting married LOL! My Aunt did our Wedding Cake as a gift and she did an AMAZING JOB! Every other layer was White Cake and Red Velvet Cake =D Our Groom's Cake was from the local bakery and was Chocolate =) Our Wedding Cake and Groom's Cake Our Wedding Cake Our Groom's Cake Jake & I Cutting the Cake =D I'm addicted to Cake!!

We had a Destination Wedding in Las Vegas at the Top of the Stratosphere two weeks prior to our Reception. (For Details and pictures of our Wedding, our Las Vegas Strip Tour, and our incredible Vegas Vacation-see previous posts). Our Photographer took these pictures in Cheboygan, Michigan right before the Reception. Our hotel was right on the River-couldn't ask for a better setting...so we took them right there =)

I've had these back for awhile now, but time has kinda slipped away from me and it's been a crazy busy summer so far! Hope everyone's wedding plans and marriages are going great!!! Las Vegas-Downtown-The Freemont Street Experience

We had to go downtown to get our Marriage License the first night we got to Las Vegas anyways so we figured we'd check out the Freemont Street Experience while we were down there. I'm so glad we did-Downtown Las Vegas was so much fun...there is so much to do down there and everything is quite a bit cheaper too....two of my relatives each won $200 and $250 on the slots in Downtown Las Vegas too...so I guess maybe the slots are looser too? (maybe?) Anyways we all had a lot of fun and the Freemont Street Light Shows are really something to see! We saw a Memorial Day one (since it was Memorial Day) and we also saw The Don Mclean-American Pie one they were both really cool! We also checked out the swimming pool at the Golden Nugget Casino and Hotel (I am a big shark lover) and in their swimming pool they have a slide that goes through a shark tank..how cool is that?! No you can't ACTUALLY swim with the sharks...it's more or less a big tube that goes through an aquarium, but I still loved it =D
