We had originally just booked a regular room at the Flamingo, but then decided what the hell you only get married once...so we upgraded to the Flamingo GO Room...and LOVED it...we even had a view of the Bellagio Fountains from our room...hello! =D
We really weren't in our room all that much-cause I mean it's VEGAS BABY! The day of the wedding I did get quite a bit of use out of the room though, because I didn't have my hair or makeup done until Makeup in the 702 showed up and I sure as hell wasn't leaving the room without any makeup on and my hair looking crazy...so yea...I used the room that day a lot =D Also the tv in the bathroom mirror was so cool as far as getting ready to go and doing your hair on the other days we were there...loved that! The pink lights in the bathroom...also VERY COOL...for um...showering purposes LOL! Anyways if you're in Vegas and are considering the upgrade...I say go for it..I think it was an extra $160 for 5 days which works out to something like $32 more a day...it was worth it!!!!!!! Check out the pictures =D |

WE'RE MARRIED! Las Vegas Wedding was PERFECT!
We had the time of our lives in Las Vegas-everything went smoothly, even boarding the planes with my dress as my carry on-I was so worried, but it wasn't a problem at all, the planes that didn't have closets, I just put it in the overheard.
The first thing we did was get our marriage license, which was really easy, since we already had the forms filled out so it was basically just paying $60 and we were done. =) I'll go into details of the other things we did in Las Vegas besides the wedding later-but for now I'll just skip to the wedding...so I got my hair and makeup done by Makeup in the 702 (Megan and Whitney did an AMAZING job...damn, I wanted to take them home with me! LOL) then my mom helped me get ready and my parents and I met Jake and his parents in the lobby to meet with Toner Photography for our Las Vegas Strip Tour (we wanted Las Vegas wedding pictures and we got them! see post below for sneak peak!) So while waiting in the lobby, DONNY OSMOND showed up (Donny and Marie are performing at the Flamingo) and I got to meet him and take a picture with him..haha he really is "a little bit Rock 'N Roll!" haha so we were off for our Las Vegas strip tour...I'll post more pictures later of that! President Obama was in Las Vegas so traffic was difficult, but Michelle with Toner Photography knows the ins and outs of Vegas so she got us where we needed to be and to the locations we wanted-LOVE HER! =D We get to the Stratosphere and take an elevator to the Top and met with Richard-the best Minister in Las Vegas and found out we got upgraded to their best chapel-the larger chapel! BONUS! This day just keeps getting better and better! Then it's time for the wedding to start and it all goes perfectly-then I see Jake's eyes getting a little glassy during the vows and so I started crying..ugh..not even sure what Richard (our minister) was saying at that point, but I was thankful he kept talking so I could pull myself together...so he pronounced us Husband and Wife and we kissed! The entire ceremony was 8 minutes long-we planned 2 years for it...and it was PERFECT! Short and sweet and to the point...LOVED IT! Keeping in mind that I am a HUGE Elvis fan (see previous post about my ELVIS SHRINE) we turn around and there was all of my family members with Elvis glasses and sideburns on..it was great..I really wish the Stratosphere photographer would have got a picture of that...or of my expression...but she kind of sucked overall...SO HAPPY we got pictures with Toner Photography before our Ceremony! So we took a few pictures with the Photographer. Then all of us went up to the outside observation deck and took more pictures...the view will take your breath away =D You really have to see it to know what I'm talking about..even the guests that were afraid of heights agreed it was worth it to see the view! haha...so as we are taking pictures a huge group of Japanese people came over and wanted their pictures with us and they were sooo cute so we took some group photos with them, cause we weren't quite sure what they were saying they didn't really speak english. Turns out they just wanted pictures with ME LOL I felt like I was famous or something one of them even bowed to me! Only in Vegas! ;P So we took some more pictures and then we left to go change and eat dinner. Really the MOST AMAZING DAY OF OUR LIVES! The next day we met with the Stratosphere Chapel person so we could pick our (1) 8x10 and (3) 4x6's that came with our package...of course they print out ALL 97 or so pictures that they took to make you want them...well the 8x10 picture that we really liked the Photographer didn't get the "No Smoking" sign out of the picture and I asked if they could crop it out or photo shop it out she said she thought so, but had to check..(WHAT?! I could have cropped it out?!) and they charged me $15 extra to ship it to us! which won't even get to us for 4-6 weeks!Unbelievable! So naturally after getting only (3) 4x6's I wanted like 9 more..they were $10 each! OUCH!!!! So can I just say again, I AM SO GLAD we did the Las Vegas Strip Tour with Toner Photography cause the Stratosphere Chapel really rips you off when it comes to wedding pictures, thankfully everyone that came to our wedding was taking pictures like their lives depended on it..so we do have some great shots, but still...they are just going to throw away the pictures we don't buy you know?! But I still wouldn't have picked another place to get married..cause the Chapel, the Minister, and the view were AMAZING! |

I bought tickets to the 2009 Indianapolis Moto GP-he LOVES these races so much he watches every one and DVR's them and is obsessed with Ducati's in general...but these races are generally overseas like in Spain, Italy, Australia, etc..there are only two in the United States California and Indiana...and we have tickets to the Indiana race...thanks to me! So it's our mini-moon I guess..our actual honeymoon won't be until after tax return next year, I'd like to go on a Cruise =D The tickets are for 3 days- Fri, Aug 28 Practice Day Sat, Aug 29 Qualifying Day Sun, Aug 30 Race Day We promised not to get each other gifts, but he bought me an incredible engagement ring and then spent just as much on my wedding band...and then picked out a $45 wedding band for himself on Ebay LOL..so I wanted to do SOMETHING special for him....and he loves this just as much as I love my rings =D There NOW we're even LOL! |

Free and Cheap things to do in Las Vegas!!!
My friend asked me what there was to do in Vegas other than shows...(even though a couple relatives are going to see Dane Cook and Chris Angel) I sent her a long list...then I thought about all the Las Vegas brides that might be interested in the list..as well as the girls that are going to Vegas for their honeymoons or just to visit =D So here is a long list of Vegas activities =D FREE THINGS TO DO: http://www.vegas.com/attractions/freeattractions.html The things Jake and I went to from that list- *Bellagio Conservatory-inside Bellagio http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/bellagioconservatory.html *Fountains at Bellagio (the best view is from the Top of the Eiffel Tower at night-I want to do this after we get married after dinner =) for sure!) http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/bellagiofountains.html *Fountain Show at Caesars http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/fountainshow.html *Lion Habitat at MGM Grand http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/lionhabitat.html *M&M's World http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/mandmworld.html *The Sirens of TI-we ended up being late to get a good seat for this and decided to go look around inside Treasure Island instead haha http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/pirate.html *Streetmosphere at the Venetian-just mimes and stuff inside the Venetian-but fun to walk around inside Venetian! http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/streetmosphere.html *Volcano at the Mirage-cool to see! http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/volcano.html *Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo-we're staying here so it's hard NOT to see this =D http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/wildlifehabitat.html *Welcome to Las Vegas sign http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/welcomelvsign.html *Fremont Street Experience-this is downtown not on the strip (one of the highlights of Las Vegas!) http://www.vegas.com/attractions/off_the_strip/fremontstreet.html *Rio Masquerade in the sky-we saw this after we checked out the 2009 World Series of Poker! NOT FREE, BUT CHEAP THINGS TO DO-scroll down the screen a little ways: http://www.vegas.com/attractions/ Things that Jake and I did from that list: *The Auto Collections at the Imperial Palace-boring, but Jake seemed to like it (There was supposed to be a car that belonged to Elvis in there, but we couldn't find it) We found a coupon in some book in our hotel or some shit-buy one get one free admission http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/autocollection.html *Shark Reef-obviously I loved this! And we got to see the World Poker Tournament in 2007 going on in Mandalay Bay after we were done so I was SUPER excited about that! http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/sharkreef.html *Eiffel Tower-at the Paris (have to see the Bellagio Fountains from up there!) http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/eiffeltower.html *Stratosphere Tower-It's going to be free for everyone this time cause we're getting married at the Top! =D http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/stratospheretower.html *Madame Tussauds Interactive Wax Attraction-I don't know why, but posing with wax famous people was so much fun so we're going back! =P http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/tussauds.html *Jake's Machine Gun experience =P Cab ride was more than the damn gun thing, but I know a few of them plan on going to do this (my dad definitely wants to) http://www.lasvegasgunrange.net/lasvegasgunrange.net/Range_Rentals.html *Gondola Ride at the Venetian-you have to wait in a short line (even shorter if you go on the outdoor one) http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/gondola.html *The Roller Coaster at New York-New York-I don't know who will ride this with me now Jake hates rollercoasters.. http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/manhattanexpress.html *Speed-The Ride at the Sahara http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/speedtheride.html Another cool page to check out: http://www.vegas.com/traveltips/ There are Malls too if you feel like shopping! http://www.vegas.com/shopping/ The Miracle Mile one (Planet Hollywood) has the most affordable stores in it http://www.vegas.com/shopping/mm_floorplan.html but of course it would be nice to have unlimited funds to go shopping at Caesars Forum Shops (it's still beautiful just to walk around there!) http://www.vegas.com/shopping/fs_floorplan.html and same with Venetian http://www.vegas.com/shopping/cs_floorplan.html There is an outlet Center, but I have no idea how far from the strip it is http://www.vegas.com/shopping/lasvegasoutlet_floorplan.html My cousin Hailey is going to shit herself....hope she has been saving her money =D Here is the nightlife page: http://www.vegas.com/nightlife/ I can't really see myself paying $50 per person and standing in a line half the day and night and dressing like a Lindsey Lohan to get into the Ghost Bar at the Palms...even though it would be soooo cool just to see it once...but I really think the bars I would like to go to would be more, Coyote Ugly http://www.vegas.com/nightclubs/coyote/ The Bar at the Times Square http://www.vegas.com/nightlife/bars/timessquare.html Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville http://www.vegas.com/nightlife/bars/margaritaville.html Toby Keith's I Love This Bar http://www.vegas.com/nightlife/bars/tobykeiths.html Dick's Last Resort http://www.vegas.com/nightlife/bars/dickslastresort.html The shows and concerts that people RAVE about and will ASK YOU CONSTANTLY ABOUT when you get home which ones you went to...hahahaha http://www.vegas.com/shows/ we didn't go to any last time and we still had THE BEST TIME, but apparently it is the thing to do when you go to Las Vegas =D You know other than gamble of course =D Oh yea and lets not forget about a certain wedding on Tuesday, May 26th at 7:30 p.m.!!! Actually you might want to leave early-it takes a while to get from mid-strip to the Stratosphere, because you have to be there by 7:15 p.m. (they don't screw around with their times either since our ceremony is like 7 minutes long haha) but we do get free observation deck passes included with our package =D So I think that about covers Las Vegas in a nutshell.....oh and here is the Flamingo pool too http://www.flamingolasvegas.com/casinos/flamingo-las-vegas/casino-misc/pool-detail.html COUPONS! http://govegas.about.com/od/cheaplasvegas/a/cheapguide.htm |
