So I was thinking am I really such a "different" bride? I didnt/dont have any - * engagement party * engagement photos * bridal shower * gift registry * my flowergirls arent carrying flowers * my bridesmaids arent carrying bouquets * the groomsmen wont have boutainneries * not having a wedding cake as such (have a topper but its not a normal wedding cake everyone else seems to have) If my birdcage veil that I bought for my dress doesnt go on the day then I will have, wait for it....... * no veil My sister (MOH) also made a major f**k up today and text me (by mistake) to tell me she is having a "surprise 'me' party" for me on Fri 12 Dec......I text her back asking her if she knew she text me the message she nearly died. Its the thought that counts I think a 'me' party is where everyone brings you a gift for your honeymoon....but I guess just a little frustrated as that was the only thing she has done in the whole duration of wedding period, its 10 weeks away and I dont want to sound ungrateful because Im not but its like between the lot of them they couldnt organise a piss up in brewery. Also pissed off because I asked the wedding co-ordinator in JULY to see if she could get a certain photographer for my wedding she said she would. I contacted that photographer last night and she was never asked to do it. So now I dont have the photographer I wanted so pissed off as her packages start from $4,000 up wards her "associate" starts at $2,000 but I dont have that money our photos are meant to be included in our package. That was the ONE thing I wanted to spend good money on was photography and where the hell am I meant to pull that money from? We have to pay the trav agent 9,500 this weekend that isnt even the extras to pay the hotel yet. Another stressful day! I have so much to do and only 10 weeks to go! Freaking out! Those useless travel agents assholes rang 5 times today to let me know the balance was due to be paid this weekend when they havent contacted me for the whole year and all they did was mess up EVERYTHING. They decided to email me a list yesterday of legal requirements which have some things they never told me about from day one which I could have done by now. As the time seems to get closer I am getting more and more nervous really am afraid I wont be able to enjoy my stay in Mexico due to being so anxious.I also read that the majority of the justice of peace are really inpersonal and rush the whole process of ceremony to 10-15 mins as they do this several times a day and that was also another worry that it would be really impersonal, that if I wanted to incorporate any vows or anything else that I am better off doing it when the justice of peace is finished, hello? what the f**k do I have an officiant for if someone else is going to have to (namely a guest of ours) get up and talk us through the ceremony we would like to do afterwards...so sad, pissed, anxious and annoyed right now.

Yay at 14 months she (Harley) is walking so happy for her, proud of her and delighted that she will be able to hold her own and walk up the aisle by the time the wedding comes around in about 12 wks time! Wow where has time gone? Just wanted to share it is kinda wedding related as she is a flowergirl but it is a proud mommy moment too....thank you to all of you who took the time out to comment on my wedding dress I really appreciate those of you who really supported me and were there for me. My sister (MOH) bought my a digital camera and printer today there is no stopping me now! I dont know myself! I found these dresses on bestbridalprices.com and then I asked marisanicolebridal.com for a quote which was cheaper and as she was so nice to deal with I went with her for everything so glad I did.

Well for those of you who might not be aware I bought everything online. I got my dress, veil and shoes, my 3 bridesmaids dresses and their shoes and 2 flowergirl dresses. Along with all my centerpieces, favors, guestbook, table runners, candles, disposable bling cameras, placecards, wedding guest bags.........you get the picture... Anyway I received my dress yesterday was a bit nervous as I never tried on ANY dresses, none at all. I saw this dress fell in love got measured and ordered it. It has a slight a-line which I want to take in slightly and is a bit big on bust area as Ive lost a little weight so just have to get it altered. So here are the pics let me know what you think. I also got a birdcage veil but..........it looks really delicate when I put on in comparison to the dress which is quite understated I think I need a bold veil or something. I know Ive no make up or my hair isnt done but I think on the day if Im not feeling the veil Im going with a flower in my hair (updo) if the weather is very fine and no wind whatsoever I may opt for the hair down but thats a big if...... I know some of you were quite anxious to see the dress from me buying online but I must tell you the lady I dealt with was an absolute dream from beginning to finish and I would recommend her to everyone. So I am aiming to have 7 large round tables at the beach reception. I initially wanted to name them instead of number them and still do really. Im just stuck on what to call them I would like something funny or really good. I can hardly do the 7 dwarfs and have some people sit at "dopey" and not take it personally LOL but something like 7 wonders of the world or 7 things to make a good marriage work - any ideas - any 7 specific things out there that I havent thought of? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I am going to put the names in different purple frames then, will attach pics of some so you get the idea! Let me know what you think!

***UPDATE - Resort wont let me do this so sad.............. I have been researching this and really would love to do it, for any of you who know me and are familiar with my blog you know with me getting married and having reception on the beach this would be ideal. I have wanted to do this for months but in the run up to the wedding and the whole fiasco of having to go to the US to get my wedding stuff etc.. and lots of other little stresses I just never got around to researching it. I have now however my only concern now is whether or not the resort would approve of us setting these off even though they are made of rice paper and are biodegradable, and I will only be letting 50 go, they only go up so far and light for 10 mins and with us being right on the coast they would in all likelihood end up going to sea. Still not sure if the resort would let me do this though and it will take up to 6 weeks for a reply from them there. So I wonder then would I get them in time? Whats a girl to do I think it would really make the day though and be such a beautiful thing to do. Everyone write a message on their lantern and let it go altogether. I originally wanted to do this years ago when I saw the movie "The Beach" with Leonardo DiCaprio when they all did it........do I take a chance and get them? In all honesty I dont have that kind of money to be throwing away in the run up to Christmas as it is, its stressing me out I have sooo much left to do and we are leaving 4 wks after Christmas so I am stressed out again at the moment. Let me know your thoughts!

Hey ladies, here are some pics of the infamous snow white outfit although Ive yet to find a full length shot! I also want to thank you for the comments and advice on my last post about my cold feet dilemma, I want to stress though that I love my FH with all my heart and I would never stray or anything like that. I feel really strange, before I start I love my Fh with all my heart but I dont know where all these other feelings have come from or how it started. Am I getting cold feet as the day is approaching and therefore these are kick starting other emotions? Im not sure, I cant sleep I feel like Im going crazy......Im having dreams that Im having flings with our male friends, find myself kinda fantasising about other people which I know is wrong and I dont need anyone to tell me that. I dont know whats wrong with me. I think since Ive lost weight and look and feel better that our male friends are being kinda flirty with me or something if that makes sense. For over a year I was out of the social scene as I was so sick with my pregnancy and then after I didnt feel the best about myself. We are the "party" couple and felt really cut off during this period as we didnt see anyone when we weren't out and about but now we're back in the swing of it. I also think half of it is because I feel like FH doesnt make an effort with his appearance with me which in a way bugs me. I bust my ass to lose weight and when we go out I make this effort and get ready and not let him see me until I am ready to get his reaction which normally works too but at the end of the day it would be nice if he did this too. Its like he doesnt care or something I dont know all I know is that I feel like Im cracking up and now I feel like one or 2 of our close male friends are weird with me in a way I dont know its hard to explain but I just feel so confused and not myself at the moment. I cant sleep at all Im not getting to sleep til about 4am tossing and turning and then when I do sleep I dream about being in relationships with other people. Even my ex (my eldest daughters dad) is all nicey pie and flirty with me which is very strange as we tend to want to strangle each other at the best of times. I invited him to the party we are having when we get back (I am close to his mom and his brothers one of them are the groomsmen as he is FH best friend - confused?) and he says, he doesnt know if he could go as he doesnt know how he would feel about it, if he'd be upset etc.. sob story bull. I feel like Im losing my mind. I dont know why Im posting this as it makes little or no sense to me as Im writing this but I need to vent and get it off my chest to lighten the load at the moment. Help.

Ask a Question - Feather fans or bouquets?

This is the question, I am not really a huge lover of flowers (shock horror to the regular bride I know). This is me though. My bouquet is included however in my wedding package so I want a purple one with maybe a little white in it or white stem wrap (bridesmaids are wearing purple) and I wanted my bridesmaids to have either white bouquets with a little purple (or purple stem wrap) OR as I am incorporating feathers here and there I could give them white feather fans as pictured. What do you think? Its a destination wedding I will post the wedding ceremony site so you can get an overall feel of what I am going for so you know they are not having white feather fans in a church or anything like that. I am really undecided on this one. I am not sure if they would like it but it wouldnt kill them to hold it for a half hour or so for the ceremony anyways I have bought the dresses, shoes, jewelry, will be paying for hair & make up and a bouquet would be at least another $60-75 each at the resort depending on what I wanted I guess. Ask a Question - Advice on tables PLEASE

Ok so I need help, for those of you who are familiar with me and my posts. You know that I am getting married and having the reception on the beach. I bought all the centerpieces (lanterns & candles etc..) myself and purple table runners etc.. My dilemma is the inspiration pic that I love (main pic) is taken from a very long table where the table runner and lanterns and candles run the length of the whole table (rather than on individual round tables) The tables on the beach however are round ones (also see pics). I tried the set up on a similar table (alot smaller at home) and it didnt really work for me. The table runner is going to be too short on those big circular tables and Im not sure if the resort would do the one long table on the beach as they normally set it up in such a way that people can dance in the middle with the tables surrounding the dance area. They do set a long table up in the terrace area (see pics) but I want the reception on the beach am not budging on that one. My thing is though with having a really long table will it be really impersonal and everyone be shouting for air - where would we (the bride & groom) sit then? Yet my centerpieces seem to work better on this kind of set up. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Have attached pics so you can see what I mean.........Thanks (again!) On an individual table there would be 1 large & 1 medium moroccan lantern (with candle inside), 2 mini lanterns, 10 purple votive holders with candles, some butterflies & feathers on the lanterns, the cameras with camera scavenger hunt directions with feathers attached, the napkins (on plates) and the placecards (still not sure where to write the names here). I have put them all in the pics so you can see and wrote what the problem is underneath so you get where I am coming from!

Thought I would post pics of the dresses that I got I know alot of you were interested to know how they looked since I bought them online. My dress should be with me very shortly I cant wait for that! She said she should have it on Fri or Monday! I absolutely LOVE all the girls dresses they are gorgeous and they love them. I will post the original pictures too so you can see for yourself. Apologies for the quality of the pics as they were taken with a phone. Dresses are beautiful as are the shoes. The sash on the flowergirls dress looks very dark its not that dark at all its a lovely purple. A little nervous about mine but I cant wait either! Excitement - only 3 months to go now! Cant believe it! Must do a mock of the table and what the centerpieces will look like with everything and will post that during the week! Its all becoming very real now!

Its official bought it on ebay now lets hope it gets here in time from the US for Halloween on Friday! (to Ireland) We are throwing a fancy dress in our house it should be very funny will post pics - thanks for all the votes and help. FH is still on about the wonder woman boots but I love that snow white costume there are other snow white costumes which arent as good but that one well I love it. So my ladies I know you will help me out on this one. My FH has decided to throw a fancy dress costume party on halloween in our house? I found these two costumes and want to know which one you think is best. I did originally want to find a wonder woman one but this snow white one caught my eye. FH is just lovin' the wonder woman boots (but he doesnt have to wear them, and they are boot tops anyway! LOL) I know I will get the honest answers here so let me know what one you think is better? One of my bm's is having an underlying competition with me (long story) but I feel like she is constantly trying to out do me or something like that and its my party and I'll cry if I want to LOL (I asked if I could borrow a costume she wore 2 years ago to my birthday and she keeps blowing me off......in other words she doesnt want me to wear it) so in spite I want to get another one (I know I sound about 12 but this is so petty like I just flew to the other side of the world to get stuff which included a dress and shoes for her (which I bought) and shit is my thanks!) So anyway back to the costume I want to look good and it be my two fingers to her and to also wow the FH ; ) kill two birds with one stone I'm all about that LOL

LOL well Im back came home yesterday morning and it was the most stressful few days really. The girl who had all my stuff (if you're not familiar with story read 5 blogs down) gave me the runaround for a few days I arrived on the Sun was leaving Wed and spent the whole of Tues trying to organise to get my stuff. In the end I had to pay a driver to go from Manhattan to New Jersey it cost me $160, the poor guy delivered them to the hotel at 2.45am, the boxes took up a whole luggage trolley to the top. Didnt finish packing until 5am. We were charged $150 in the airport for one of the bags being overweight. Two of them were overweight but I had to take stuff out of one etc....when we got to Ireland then you could barely see our heads over the trolleys and we were a neon sign to customs who pulled us. They had a look through everything and they werent interested and left us go I nearly got sick when they pulled us though. I was dreading it all along and then it happened what do you do? Got the bridesmaids dresses, flowergirls dresses too and they are gorgeous. The flowergirls are a little long but they can be taken up, soooo happy with them. Got all my centerpieces, candles and everything basically for the wedding that I have blogged about! Will post pics to show exactly what the trip was for! Its good to be back nearly at the 3 month mark now, travel agent has to be paid the balance (yes thats right) of 9,000 euro in three weeks time so still a little stressed at the moment. Must spend a few hours now seeing what everyone else has been and is up to!

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a sand ceremony picture frame? I dont want to do the vase, I love the frame idea but any search Ive done the brides have made the frames. Im not making the frame I want to know where I can get my hands on one and how it works. The one in the picture was one made specifically by the bride for her sand ceremony but I would ideally want one similar to this. If anyone can let me know I would really appreciate it. ITS OFFICIAL! I cant believe I am going to NY to collect all my items for the wedding the amount they wanted to ship them was ludicrous at $2250 for 9 boxes.....so I am going next week to get them and bring them home. This has to be a first, living in Ireland and having to fly over to the other side of the world for my wedding stuff.......NY here I come baby, again, have to laugh, I was saying over and over for months that this would be the first time in 4 years that I wouldnt be going to NY before Christmas and I was delighted I had Mexico to look forward to. I cant help but thinking that there is some reason I am meant to be going (sounds weird I know) but as soon as I get there I feel "Im home" and I had not expected to go at all and whatever dates I played around with the only date that kept coming up was the 19th of October, I wonder what significance this all has. Well Im sure I wont be long finding out. Will keep you posted, my sister is coming with me.......wish me luck ladies. A few days window shopping LOL after all the packing is done and pray to god that customs have a day off when I am coming home. Watch out NY here I come!

Nearly called the wedding off - Had enough

Well Ive hit an all time low. It was bound to happen I suppose havent had any meltdowns in such a long time! I think (post below) the drama yesterday with the delivery guys UPS wanting $2250 for my 9 boxes of wedding stuff to ship to Ireland was the final straw. I spent hours online last night researching freight and thanks to your helpful comments I also researched and got a few phonecalls back today regarding freight and they basically told me the same, $2000 and if they were me that they would go over and get the stuff myself too. That it would take 2 months to get here anyway. And basically it was a rip off. So my sister who offered to come with (after we booked flights) thought we were going to collect the dresses, hello? How do 5 dresses take up 9 boxes and weigh so much that they cost $250 a box to ship, I am about to bang my head off a brick wall.....so then her attitude changed slightly about going, hey she can justify going to get a dress that I paid for for her but not for anything else for *my* wedding. Then my FH decided he'd have a day from hell and snap over the littlest of things, today was the day he decided he would flip over the price of the wedding in total even though we sat and had this all out months ago. It was like today he only realised how much everything cost. He also thinks NY trip to get everything is a holiday for me? What I hate about this is because hes the main breadwinner here its like I have to ask him for the money or something which I cant stand! My mom decided I should rent space in the US and then go over in Dec and send the stuff to Mexico (apparently in her world, bless her, this would be cheaper) My friend that had the stuff was questioning whether I should pay for a trip over would it justify the cost? ARGH So spent the evening crying and seriously close to calling it all off, the stress and everyones negativity and stuff was just wearing me down. Told my mom I was selling everything just calling it off I have done it all since day one and no one has anything nice to say everyone has a comment for everything I do. This morning then to top the day off, I got results back that I had abnormal cells in my smear and need a repeat, went to the doc surgery and the doc there refused to talk to me about it wanting me to talk to my own doc about it as we have *history* what I dont like is the way that the secretary said it to me sympathetically....thats another story I guess. What a fucking day.......and after I told my sister to cancel the trip, FH decided we "had" to go as this was the only way to get the stuff! So now we are going next week. I have to re pack everything send some lighter stuff by mail and pack the rest in 4 big luggage bags and carry on luggage and hope for the best..............so so drained!

I've a MAJOR problem - Can anyone help me out please?

I have a major problem ladies, I live in Ireland I bought most of the stuff for my wedding, well the majority of it in the States and sent it to my friend who lives in NJ. She helped me out hugely by accepting packages and parcels and delivery upon delivery over a few months. She then spent 2 hours the other night unpacking everything and repacking it all into boxes to bring it to a deilvery company to have it delivered to me. She had to pack everything into her brothers expedition which took up the whole vehicle. She contacted me today to tell me that they wanted $250 a BOX to send to me - my problem? There is 9 boxes so that is $2000 for delivery in 3 days...........I cant afford that! The post office want to charge up to $125 per box and cant guarantee when it will be delivered thats still over $900. It is cheaper for me to fly to the US and bring the stuff home but there is no way I would get away with packing all that stuff into my luggage allowance. So my sister offered to come with me. Next weekend. Flights seem to have gone up in price by 50eu each since yesterday so we need to make a decision asap. The dates I found were 17-19 Oct which is over a weekend and we could stay with a friend who would be off work and drive us here, there and everywhere. If we went on the alternative dates 19-22 Oct which is Sun-Wed she would be working and therefore we would be stranded in a house. My friend has asked that we go over the weekend, my sister now cant travel on those dates as there is a memorial service for our friend who commited suicide in March (which slipped my mind with all this shit going on) My FH is complaining now that its alot of money but what the f**k does he want me to do, I cant ship it to Mexico as they wont accept responsibility for it, I need to get the stuff to my house. I am so mad right now I cant see straight. I am so grateful to my friend who has done me such a huge favor with all this hassle of accepting stuff and re packing it and bringing it to a delivery place etc. so embarrassed and I seem to be the only one who sees the urgency in sorting something out, this girl is driving around with all my stuff and now has to bring it all home (I explained I would fly over as it would be cheaper) now everyone is stalling and cant make up their damn minds. I dont know what to do - if they think that I bust my f**king ass for the last year researching and buying stuff for the wedding so I can just not be bothered what happens next - what planet do these people live on and yes I am talking about my family and FH at the moment. So mad right now. Has anyone ANY idea of what I can do? *UPDATE* Have checked out some freight services and they are averaging over the $1000 so it is looking like the mountain wont come to Mohammed so Mohammed better get to the mountain, pronto!
