Ok girls, I have finally got some pictures taken of all of the stuff I need to get rid of. I am planning a surprise 30th anniversary party for my aunt and uncle who paid for my wedding. I am hoping to use the re-sale funds for that. All prices are listed on each picture. Please click on the picture to make it bigger. Prices do NOT include shipping. Wedding and Reception all over!!!
I know i have been away so long but I have been peeking in on all of you lovelies. We had our mock ceremony and reception almost 2 weeks ago. I am so glad that it's over! I was really afraid that I would feel a void after it was all over. But that is not the case. Actually it's completely opposite. The day I got home from our "minimoon" (2 days), I went through the house like a monster removing anything and everything wedding related. It's all on my front porch now. I have organized it into sell and keep sections. As soon as I get my laptop back (it crashed the day I got home), I'm getting this stuff out of my house!! I enjoyed every minute but I'm ready to have my life back. I only have a few regrets. I would have trimmed my guest list (over 30 people didn't show up that had RSVP'd). I know it was because we got married in Florida but I deserved at least a phone call! I wouldn't have gotten impatient with taking pictures and made sure I got all the things I wanted. I was so tired of taking them, I just quit and said "we have what we have, enough". I also would have tried even harder to spend less money, I am hoping to re-coup a little from the sale of things but thousands of dollars is a lot for one day that goes by way too fast. I HATED my cake! It looked like something that I could have done myself, however, it tasted amazing. It was only $200. I ordered 2 other cakes from that bakery previous to my wedding cake to be sure I wanted to go with them. My daughter's birthday cake and my shower cake were amazing. I guess they're just not good at wedding cakes. Oh well, I was irritated for about a minute, then I moved on. I would have delgated some tasks the night before. I had my amazing girls to help decorate but there were other things still to do. I got 3 hours sleep the night before. Oh well again. The adreneline kept me going. I had mentioned that I hoped it would be just as special since we were already married. It was! I cried walking down the "aisle", our first dance (This very moment by K-Ci and Jo-Jo), my dance with my dad (Daddy's Angel by T Carter Music) and my dance with my son (A Song For Mama by Boyz II Men). I am one lucky girl. I got TWO wedding days that were amazing! And it rained on BOTH of them, double the luck! I only have pictures from my dad's camera. It wasn't a very good camera but I will not complain. It's the only pictures I will have for about 2 more weeks. Sorry I have been absent
Almost there......
For those of you that have followed, I am technically already married. But we are still having our "wedding" in 2 days. Even though we got married in Florida, I have still been thinking of our upcoming reception as our wedding. We are going to have a mock ceremony. Parents will be seated, bridal party will walk out and then my dad and I will walk out. My dad will "give" me to my husband and then we will go right into our first dance. It feels a little less special but I am still looking forward to it. I am hoping that it will be as special as it would have been had we not already gotten married. So I know I haven't been around with all the last minute stuff but I wanted to say farewell anyway. For those of you planning while you are working, going to school and/or raising kids, more power to you!! I have a toddler but I stay at home with her. I feel like I still don't have enough time in the day! Hopefully, I will be back soon with pictures and stories of great times! Thank you all!! Donia |

So, my counter says 17 days but I have now been married for 2 days. My HUSBAND was very against getting married in front of a bunch of people. He has always tried to convince me to do it while we were on vacation in Florida which we are on now. I said "no way" because he wouldn't agree to a reception. Well he did so we did! We did it on the beach at sunset with 8 witnesses. It was absolutely amazing. My brother was in charge of videotaping and missed half of the ceremony. I was really upset for awhile but now I'm alright. We are married and I am beyond happy. I cried the whole ceremony! I will try to post more later but I am enjoying the end of our vacation. Heading to Florida!!!
Just a few updates
I just posted my bridal and boudoir pictures and realized I hadn't posted in awhile. Even after doing as much as I could ahead of time. There are still little things that come up everyday. I will not even start on the RSVP drama beacause it's the same as everybody elses. I did my "I Do" letters on my shoes awhile back and they turned out pretty good for $1.75 for the stones. I did my "I Do" letters for the cake table and they turned out pretty good for $3 for the letters and supplies I had from other things. I also added a picture of my invites before they went out. I am leaving for Florida tomorrow and will be there for 2 weeks. I am beyond excited but at the same time, scared to death that I should be home doing something for the wedding (I don't know what but something). We will have 13 days when we get back. Wow! I finally decided to order the guys suits from mensusa.com that I previously posted about. I was leary but I ordered one to see what I got. It was $100 and fabulous. So now the guys are getting suits, shoes and ties for $160. They get to keep it all! It was $165 + tax to rent them. They are zoot suits and they will probably never wear them again but the girls will never wear their dresses again either. FH was irritated that the guys were going to pay almost as much as the girls and didn't get to keep anything but now they do! I probably won't have anything to update on in Florida but I will be sure to check in on you girls while I'm there. That is if I survive the 13 hour trip with my grumpy uncle, two teenagers and a 2 year old! Later ladies!! |

So, alot of these didn't turn out as good as I had hoped. I guess my photographer doesn't have the program to edit my flabby areas lol. I still got quite a few that I am happy with. I am so proud of myself for doing this and FH has NO idea. I was going to send them to him in his room on the Day Of. However, I have decided I must see his face when he sees them. I am going to give them to him after our rehersal before we go our seperate ways (him to relax and me to decorate!). For those of you that are contemplating doing this, I say go for it! |

Finally.......
Well here they are....... My hair is not the same as it will be on the Day Of. My aunt did it on this day and I think it is a little too big. Other than that, I think they turned out pretty well. You can't see the pink crinoline and shoes very well in the pictures we took inside. The lighting wasn't the best but I like they way they look in the ouside pictures. BTW, I have been trying to upload these dang things ALL day. I don't know what the problem was but they're finally up! Yay!! 30 days! |
