Location, The Distillery District
After the ceremony we have decided to get our formal pictures taken at the Distillery District in downtown Toronto.
A little history for ya.. The Distillery District is a unique part of town that has been around since 1831 and it has the best preserved Victorian architecture in North America. The distillery produced almost 1/2 of Ontario's beer and alcohol in1971. Soooo its appropriate that Rob and I have our pictures taken here... LOL The distillery business fell on hard times and was sold and closed in 1990 after operating on the same site for close to 170 years! In 2001 the property was purchased for $15 million had a massive restoration, the project came complete with the forty-five original 19th century buildings. It is now a pedestrian only village and is filled with live music, outdoor exhibitions, galleries, boutiques, restaurants, artist studios and special events even movies like X-Men have been filmed here. I love the vintage look the distillery portrays, but I hate the permit that we have to buy to have our photos taken here:( Most of the photos I have posted are from our photographer Boston Avenue. |
