So, I've been thinking about what to get my bridesmaids, bridal assistant and host/hostess, and groomsmen for their gifts. I could go the normal route like to the left, but I'd rather do something a little more unique/different.

We Have Dresses!!! Wahoo
Alright!... so I got my dress today. The picture does not do it justice, and that is not the way i'm going to wear my veil, I was just putting it on to get the idea. :) But anyway... I'm happy and that's what counts.
The 2nd picture is my bridesmaids. I allowed them to pick out their own dress. They will all be in black and the one to the right will be short like the other 2. Instead of the flower on the pink one there will be a broach and i will add one to the green one as well so all 3 will have one and my dress has one on it's sash. |

Save The Date!
Save the dates..CHECK!! One more thing off my list :). They are nothing too fancy. I ordered them from www.winkflash.com. They were pretty cheap. For 200 it was $60 dollars. (with discount codes). I feel like i'm really behind on everything! Hopefully I get them all sent out before christmas. We have lost of friends that are recently engaged or are going to be getting engaged and I would hate for there to be 2 weddings the same day!!

So, I THINK i have decided to go the sand ceremony route. We are getting married outside (weather permmiting--lets cross our fingers and hope) and i just dont think that the whole Unity candel will work out. Besides I'm a little more on the non traditional side of things.
Are there any brides out there that are planning on or have done the sand ceremony?? I would really love to hear how you are planning on doing it. One of my friends told me of this really great idea for a sand ceremony. Usually just the couple puts the sand in, some have the mothers pour the sand in first representing the families and what not. BUT, she said it would be really cool if on the guest book table (or a table it's slef) you have a bunch of different colored sands and ask your guest to add a little bit of their color of choosing as well representing all of your family and friends. I would have to find a pretty big glass container with a lid for something like that. THANKS!! |

Wedding Reception

We finally decided on a place to have the ceremony and reception!! We put money down today for 6/5/2010. It's called Tournament Club of Iowa (TCI) and it's gorgeous!! My FH is in to golf, so it works out perffect. All they guys can play a round while the girls get ready. I feel so much better now, and ready to really start planning my wedding! I'M SO EXCITED!!

When my sister got married and few years ago she found this website trashthedress.com and I just ran across it again! How cool would it be to get to do this. What would be really cool is if you take your dress with you on your honeymoon and trash your dress where ever you go! Anyone trashing their dress?

I was thinking that I will let my bridesmaids pick out their own dress. I just want it to tea lenght and black. I'm having 3 bridesmaids and they all have different figures and in the end I want them to be comfortable...and look good of course! haha I'll still have a say in what they wear but if one wants a strapless and another wants straps I dont really care. I attached some pictures of my favorites that I'm going to show them and hope they get the idea of what i'm kind of looking for. What do you guys think? Are you having all your bridesmaids wear the exact same dress?

I think that it would be awesome to have a photo both at our wedding for part of our guest book! Everyone would have to get their photo taken then tape it into the guest book and sign their name next to the picture. BUT...that's just dreaming b/c they run $800+ a night. Becuase lets get real...how often do you ever look at your guest book. Is it really nessesary to have someone sitting at the guestbook?

So I was at Target the other day looking for stuff for my sister's baby shower comming up and I ran across wedding invitations there! Who knew! Right? They come in sets of 25-50 and range from $25-$50+ and include the invitation (that you run through your printer) envelopes, response cards and envelopes, and all the extras like ribon and such if you get ones that have that.

Alright!.. so i've been engaged for a while now. Our wedding is June 5th 2010 at TCI. Originally I had my color as green but I changed it to black b/c green is actually more of my accent color. So anyway my officiall colors are black/white and apple green. Ever since I've started planning my wedding i fell in love with Damask. That's right..I'm a damask bride :) Wahoo!!
