It looks great on him, and he's extremely excited about it; it's really very adorable! :) We are also thinking of getting an inscription done on our rings, maybe "Army Strong" or something along those lines.]]> Ask a Question: To be seen or not to be seen? - I tried on my first wedding dress!! http://www.weddingbycolor.com/jakeandnicole/milestones/17869 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/jakeandnicole/milestones/17869 Wed, 23 Jul 2008 22:51:00 PST I tried on a dress in Jessica McClintock. I wanted to see what I could find in the lower price range before I look at $1000 dresses (plus, I love the idea of wearing Jessica McClintock since I did a project in high school where I got to do a phone interview with her!). Anyway, I would be perfectly happily with this dress (well, a small train might be nice). I am going to really start dress shopping next summer, but I'll keep this one in mind. I showed my FH and he loved it. I personally have no problem with my fiance seeing the dress or pictures of me in it before I walk down the aisle. His opinion is important to me. I just don't want him to see the whole package the day off (make-up, hair, dress, shoes, etc). What about you? To be seen or not to be seen?]]> DIY - Escort and Donation Cards, Fans http://www.weddingbycolor.com/jakeandnicole/milestones/16760 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/jakeandnicole/milestones/16760 Mon, 14 Jul 2008 11:43:00 PST DIY List to keep me organized Escort Cards - Simple; cardstock; green and yellow ribbon Donation Cards - See above; decide on wording Fans - Origami paper; cardboard; popsicle sticks]]> Invitations - Laura Ashley Ivory Jacket Invitation Kit http://www.weddingbycolor.com/jakeandnicole/milestones/16488 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/jakeandnicole/milestones/16488 Fri, 11 Jul 2008 20:03:00 PST I first found these invitations in AC Moore for $34.99 and instantly fell in love with them! The jacket is much closer to yellow than it is to ivory, and the sample invitation in the kit has green writing, which is why these invitations caught my eye. Using uprint.com, I'd have to print them myself, but we're having a small wedding so that won't be so bad. I think they're darling and perfect for our budget!]]> Centerpieces - Mini-Daisies http://www.weddingbycolor.com/jakeandnicole/milestones/16372 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/jakeandnicole/milestones/16372 Thu, 10 Jul 2008 22:25:00 PST These are the centerpieces I want. My mom and I nearly died when we found this photo. The wedding coordinator at our venue even said she could do them for us! I think the simple, fresh look will fit our venue, style, and color scheme perfectly. Lately, though, it seems that mini-daisies are turning into a slight motif for our wedding. I don't want to take it too far though; I want to keep the wedding classy.]]> Color Scheme - Green and Yellow http://www.weddingbycolor.com/jakeandnicole/milestones/16257 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/jakeandnicole/milestones/16257 Wed, 09 Jul 2008 20:12:00 PST Our colors are pale green, pale yellow, and hints of dark green (the Inn has dark green accents). My MOH and BMs will be in alt. colors; the guys will be in khakis and white collared shirts with alt. tie colors. One problem: my Fiancé's in the Army and we aren't sure whether he'll have blue or green Class A's at the time of the wedding. Any ideas on how to make the blue uniform work with our color scheme?]]> Behold, our Venue! - The Valley Green Inn http://www.weddingbycolor.com/jakeandnicole/milestones/16242 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/jakeandnicole/milestones/16242 Wed, 09 Jul 2008 16:29:00 PST First post! What better way to start off than with the location at which I will begin my married life with the love of my life? So here it is - our venue! I'll walk on an aisle runner to the edge of the Wissahickon Creek, we'll exhange vows to the tune of flowing water and chirping birds, and we'll celebrate the start of our happily ever after on a darling cobblestone patio! Taking inspiration largely from the location, as well as from my own style, I've chosen a few keywords which describe the atmosphere I hope to create: fresh, young, classy, and simple. We have just under two years to plan our perfect day. I think that this blog just became my new best friend! ;)]]>
