Wedding Reception
Is anyone using plastic tableware???

Hey lasies!!!
So I was away from WBC for a little bit becasue I went on vacation with the fam to Tampa. It was a lot of fun, just weird being away from the wedding planning. I felt like I left my life behind the first two days. :)

So back to planning.....
As most of you know I am on a major budget and I was searching on renting the taleware but found it to be way over our budget.
Soooooooo are any of you considering using plastic tableware... if so were are you getting it from?

Thanks again ladies and I hope everyone has a blessed Week!!!!

Yep, me!

We're getting ours from smartyhadaparty.com & sams club.  Sams has affordable packs of faux silver/disposable cutlery that looks real until you pick it u.   Everything will be disposable except our head table flutes only because I bought them for $1 at Pier One after a holiday sale on their damask stuff.

I'm in the same boat!
The guy at my venue actually suggested buying the tableware IKEA, he said alot of budget brides have done that there and it ends up being cheaper than renting...
I haven't looked into the prices much yet but I'm either doing the ikea thing or going plastic.

I like the idea of plastic since then you can color match it with the decor :)

Welcome back to planning!

We are doing plastic at ours! My FH's Mom has a Sam's Card and I am taking full advantage of it. I will also be buying what we need to make the finger foods for our wedding. Its cheaper than renting and its a lot less to clean up! Can you say THROW AWAY!

We are! Our receptions and wedding are going to be very laid back. We are getting married at a family members house so if you not having a fancy reception I dont see anything wrong with having them out because eventually they will be held by people all throughout the reception.

We will be getting acrylic tumblers .  Something that looks like the real thing & that won't split easily, lol.  I think we'l just have them setup near the drink dispensers...not exactly sure how.    We're also doing disposable cups for the coffee/tea.  That will be near the hot beverage dispensers, although I thought about having the "glasses" on the tables, but this is mostly self serve so that wont really make sense.  HTH

We DID! It was lovely to. We rented most from smartyhadaparty.com BUT they eat you up on shipping costs. I spent well over $80.00 in just shipping alone and found the same items at a local Party City for the SAME price, but no shipping fees. Also, Smart and Final have some of the goodies sold there too. No shipping fees!

Good luck and welcome back Jaslynn!

Yep, using plastic china plates & dessert plates(for the hord's). They look and feel real and the silver plastic utensils from Costco. They were a great buy compared to else where but, it still came out to $110.00 for 160 of each plates. Silverware I think was about $20.00 for 160 sets. Good luck.

i was skeptical about the plastic thing too! but @ smartyhadaparty.com i bought some clear plastic square plates and they are very thick and look very classy. I got Salad size for the Entree so that no one is too stuffed to boogie, and i got the desert size for Salads. Great deal! i love smartyhadaparty. I got my table covers there too!
