Ask a Question
Should I Sell "The Dress"

I’m on the fence about this because I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my wedding dress.

It hasn’t even been 2 weeks since the ceremony and I’ve had to fight the urge to try it on again. But really, what can you do with a wedding dress after the ceremony?

I think I may have some formal photographs taken with me in the dress. However, I know there is no way I could ever to a “Trash the Dress” photo shoot in something that costs as much as a mortgage payment. So what do I do with it then?

I could save it for my girls, but it’s not a traditional dress at all and I doubt that the style lasts another 20 years because my oldest daughter (19) already said she wouldn’t want to wear it.
Sigh…

Its ultimately up to you girlie if you want to sell it but my mom saved her wedding dress and none of us want to wear her dress so she was gonna cut a piece of her wedding dress and sew it to my dress somewhere so you could do that if you want when they get married I wont sell my dress i love it too much too haha and i will probably be the same way as you want to try it on like a week after my wedding is over lol so i dont blame you

I agree, it is up to you. It is a gorgeous gown!! I have heard about what Tiffany was saying, sewing a piece of it onto your daughters wedding gown. I personally am going to save mine and if I have a daughter, take pics of her laying in it when she is little so she can have them for her wedding day. Talk about planning ahead, huh? HAHA. I'm not going to lie, I saw it on pinterest. But if you don't think anyone will use it, maybe you could recover some of your money? I would wait 6 months, see how you feel then.

That's totally up to you, hun. If you're really still in love with your dress right now, you don't have to do it right away, but hang on to it and when you're ready you can sell it.

I'm donating my dress after I have the dress cleaned after the wedding. There is a place near me that gives away free dresses to women who are ill with cancer and/or having a hard time and can't afford a dress.

Try it on again!!! LOL! I would.

I agree, wait for a bit, don't even worry about it right now.

I think if you paid a lot for it, you shouldn't trash it either.

If you are still totally attached to the dress...and don't want to sell or give away... maybe you could get it altered into a shorter dress and keep it for
1) A 1 yr anniversary pics
2) A vow renewal years down the line.
3) Just because LOL!
