I ordered 3 of these 8x8 photobooks online from a company called Printer Pix @ www.printerpix.com. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!
OMG, the quality of these books is not worth the $6.95 in shipping that I paid for each of them.
To start, there is no option for a cover or jacket. So I created a sticker to go on the front and spine just so we'd know what was in each book. The exterior is cardboard covered with card stock. Not leather, or vinyl, just paper.
The print quality is horrible. The red and blue hues are way too over saturated and midtones are completely blown out. They did offer an option to upgrade your paper for better image quality, but that wouldn't matter with such improper print settings. Ex: The bridesmaids dresses are way too rich looking and any shimmer on them is blown out to look almost white - FAIL. And our first look photos has Mr. C. looking almost ghostly because the images are so blown out.
For comparison, I have my Walgreens, on special, brag book on hand where we don't look orange or overly pale and the dresses don't look they glow in the dark.
Plus, the program that you have to use to create your book SUCKS BIG TIME! It took me all day, literally to create the book. And it selections are very limited. The only good feature is the ability to place photos as your background. Which is good, cuz you can barely see the background images due to their poor quality printing. There are only a few font options to choose from and rearranging anything was a slow grueling process. I almost gave up several times.
How can I forget the fact that the last page is an extra page they added to self-promote their own company. It has their logo, a barcode and book shipping info. Not to mention that the page looks as if its hanging on by a thread. Maybe it is supposed to be pulled off, but still - EPIC FAIL!
I will be writing them a strongly worded letter and asking for my money back. I had to pay $9 for each Groupon + $6.95 in shipping and $.49 per extra page. SO NOT WORTH THE MONEY! Plus, our parents have waited over 3 months to see pictures of the wedding and this is what they get. I'm so tempted to re-order the Walgreens book for them. But right now I don't have the money :( back to school shopping for 4 kids is draining me - LOL!
On the plus side Groupon an offer from Picaboo for a 12x12 photobook for $19. I've heard nothing but good stuff about them! - Oh, the things I'll do to save a buck.
********** UPDATE**********
After sending them a complaint, the company has agreed to reprint the first 2 that I have recieved. I'm still waiting on the third to come in the mail. They were all sent out at the same time, but the last one got held up at the post office with an incorrect address. Go figure, they were all coming to the same location. Oh well, I'm almost certain I'll have to ask to have it reprinted once if finally arrives.
