proposal spot during the day - but Jason proposed at night :)
Jason and I the day after the proposal.
His dad caught us. I think they had this somehow planned out haha.
Jason's dad wanted a re-enactment(ish) sort of picture. I still think it's adorable.
yay!
beach kiss
This is not that great of a picture but it's the gazebo over the water in the back of the Tale of the Whale Restaurant in Nags Head. I'd get married here if I could. It was amazing. Especially at night.

The Proposal
Nags Head, North Carolina - August 3, 2007
Jason and I had gone to Nags Head with Jason's parents for a mini vacation. We were only there for about 5 days I think, and 4 nights. Well on the 2nd night (that one I remember like it was yesterday), I suggested that Jason and I go for a walk. Little did I know that that little walk on the beach would change my life forever. About a week before we left for the beach Jason and his brother went to Helzbergh (sp?) to buy my engagement ring. Jason took his brother with him because (duh) he's his brother and because his brother had about 6 months or so earlier proposed to his girlfriend (now fiance) and bought his ring at the same store. Anyways, he bought the ring blah blah blah lol. We headed down through the hotel out to the pool deck where there was absolutely no one and the pool looked gorgeous lit at night. Well of course after I saw the pool I wanted to go swimming but it was a little chilly so we didn't. (Plus Jason had other plans) We started to walk on the beach and I said "Watch there be a crab around here somewhere" (I'm like deathly afraid of them) So literally like 5 seconds later Jason goes "OMG! There's a crab!" And I was like yeah yeah haha funny. So he threw some sand into a hole some kid had dug and left there. (VERY dangerous at night.. you could break you neck haha) So I saw the crab move. I immediately took off running back to the hotel.. or at least the pool deck area. Well once we got back to where it was safe lol we sat on a wooden bench that was kinda out of the way from the hotel but still on the hotel property over-looking the beach. The picture is what it looked like during the day. Anyways, Jason kept fidgeting with his pocket and telling me he loved me over and over and over. This was unusual behavior for him. So I kinda had an idea something was up, but he had told me he was going to wait until I was further along in college to propose. So before I could figure it out in the head Jason was on his knee asking me to marry him. Well, I couldn't see the ring because it was semi-dark, and I thought he was just joking around. So i just kinda sat there with my mouth open for like what seemed forever. Finally I said yes. Then there just happened to be someone lighting off fireworks down the beach so we sat there and watched them for a few minutes. Then went for a little walk. (crab-free) We eventually went back up to the hotel room where we told Jason's mom we were engaged. His dad knew what was gonna happen but his mom didn't because she would've told everyone she knew and it probably would have gotten back to me somehow. What's ironic is that I later found out from Jason's mom that earlier that day she told him she wanted us to get married because we seemed like such a well-suited match. She got her wish : ).. I love Jason.. and my future family. I couldn't have asked for a better proposal (even if it was flawed) or a better fiancee. I love my life!
