Bought the dress!

I haven't posted in a long time....I have a lot to update about...

But I bought my dress last weekend! Correction, my mom paid for it. She said she'd give me $400 to go towards my wedding dress, and lucky me with the dress, and a headpiece it came to $388 with tax included.

I ordered it new from David's Bridal, so I'm just waiting for it to be shipped. I set my alterations appointment up for July, but I may or may not actually get it altered with David's Bridal. I'll probably look at other places in town and compare prices.

But what's even more exciting, is that I didn't have to get the woman's size so it made the dress $50 cheaper! I had lost 25 lbs, but probably gained about 5 back. I have a large chest so I had to get a bigger size than I need anyways. I've tried tons of dresses on, and kept going back to this one. It's just simple and elegant. And it's light weight! Which is good!

Now I'm pressing for my bridesmaids to find their dresses.

AND we have our ceremony/reception site! We just have to pay the deposit and sign the contract.

Also, I really wanted uplighting without having to hire a DJ and we found some on amazon. We had $100 gift card that my fiance' and I got for Christmas and we got 8 lights, and purple gels for $133. So we only had to pay $33. And, the great part is that our roommate is in a band, so after the wedding they might buy some, or I'll just save them for my studio because I'm a photographer.

On another note, I'm starting all of my DIY projects.

There are soooo many options, so I'm narrowing down what I really want to do.

DIY photobooth
Photobooth props (I have about 20 started)
DIY matchbook favors (I designed them)
Designing my STD magnet business card style, Invitations and what not.
Centerpieces (obviously)
Aisle runner
"I Spy" game
Bouquets
Survival kits
Guest book (trying to figure out a different kind of guest book)
Card box
Backdrops

I'm sure there are a few more, but I can't think of them right now.
