Ask a Question
What kind of bar are you having????
So i was just wondering what kind of bar you ladies are having. Will it be a cash, Donation, or open bar?? I think that we are planning on having a donation bar. That way we arent expecting people to pay for their drinks but we can still have help covering the cost of it. Since it isnt cheap.

Ok, this isn't Marta, is Bekah. Not sure why it keeps doing this. I signed in but it show I was signed in just now on Brandi's blog. Strange. Anyways, donation bar is what we should have done. The venue we were going to go with, we didn't cause it was going to be $4K just for an open bar with beer and wine! Luckily, the venue we chose will let us bring our own alcohol, we just have to have a licensed bartender serve. I'm about to sit down and do some calculations on how much we would need to buy, but I think the bar is only going to cost us about $1K. Yay!

A lot of people also opt to just serve beverages for a certain amount of time or serve a certain amount of drinks... I personally decided not to have a bar, but I am probably one of the very few. :-) I personally don't like the idea of a cash bar and I would really, really not recommend an open bar... that can get expensive FAST!! Good luck deciding!!

We are thinking about offering just beer & wine. We will make a final decision on whether to pay for mixed drinks or not once it gets closer.

nothing to do with this particular post, but this is in response to the above post about the site....for some reason, I cant comment there...hmmmm....a setup?  so i'm copying a pasting my response:

i have been going thru the same problems off & on for awhile now.  i wish i could say that i knew how to fix the problem.  i tried rebooting a couple of times, thinking it was my computer..or better yet, a user error.  it's frustrating & refreshing at the same time to know it's not just me.  as i'm typing right now, it is saying that i am futuremesjohnson.  i guess maybe the site has us see whoever visited last...i don't know what it is...

We are not having a bar. Water, juice, punch and sodas will be provided. The future in-laws will not permit us to have any alcohol at the reception so we are forgoing it. I feel it's not neccessary and no one I know even cares about it being there or not.

We are having an open bar the whole time. BUT we are having a menu.I am not having guests take patron shots and then drive home. We are having a signature drink, then about 7 other mixed drinks to choose from, and also beer on tap!

We are a having a cocktail reception and will have do our own bar (will hire a bartender) having Cosmopolitans, Cuba Libras, Caesars (Canadian version of a Bloody Mary but with Clam Juice - delicious) and Champagne Cocktails with orange liqueur and making my own red and white wines and beer.  Still trying to come up with a good mocktail though.
