DIY Wedding
Our DIY neon chevrons photobooth
Today FH made our backdrop for our diy photobooth. We took a sheet and add to it some neon duck tape. It look really great. Just like I imagine it. Cost efficient I can say. Can't wait to see the pic our take in from of it :) Now we need to figure out how we will tie it to the trees at our cocktail hour.

So happy!
This weekend I finish to make our invitations and I am so happy with the result! You can see my inspiration (second pic) and the final result (first pic) I am more than happy with the result and it is giving me good energy to do all my next DIY project. What do you think about it?

Bridesmaids
H&M dresses for my maids
Today we pick the bridemaids dresses. My maids have the choice of a short fun mint cotton dress that come with a cute pink belt or a long one shoulder chiffon light pink dress. I think they are both beautiful and they go really well together. They look a million bucks but they are really cheap the short one is only 35$ and the long one 70$. Could not have dream better! for their acessories, they will be neon color to fit our theme that is pastel and hint of neon.

Wedding Hair Style
Down with bang
I finally made my mind I will leave the donut hairstyle for our engagement picture and I am going to just leave my hair loose. I will get a hair cut in few weeks and add a bang to my style. I think i will feel more like me that way. I am also wearing a flowers wreath on my head. 53 day s to go :) !

Update in our plan
Change of location
Our wedding is schedule to happen the weekend of our annual family reunion. We first tought of doing it at my uncle where the reunion is plan to happen but we change our plan do to little time to do everything and as it will bring less stress. We will have our wedding in a beautiful domaine where they raise they own animal. The food look really delicious (at less 50% of it come from their farm) and the location just so romantic. 55 days to go! I can't wait :)

Wedding Flowers
DIY sweet peas
I finally decide on our flowers. Most of the time simple ideas are the best and I think that this time simple is also beautiful. I will be ordering 500 stems of them (250 in bright pink and 250 in soft pink) from fiftyflowers.com. I will be using them this way:
bridemaids bouquet: 20 steam each x 3 = 60 boutoniere for the men: half a stem each x 8 = 4 corsage for the mom and grand mother: 2 stems each x 4 = 8 my hair wreath and flower girl wreath : about 20 steam my bouquet: 50 stems this is only about 150 stems I will us the rest in small bud vase for the tables, bigger vase for the bar and our sweetheart table, some for the bathroom, the small table at the ceremony, the guest book table,etc. the flower will be arriving on Friday and the wedding is Sunday morning so we will be able to do some of the work on Saturday, we will just need to do the wreath,corsage and boutonniere the morning of. But its ok, I will have lots of help. I sure it will look really pretty, I'm exited! update: I might have found a florist that could do it for me so we will see if its diy or not but the ides stay the same. |

My DIY hair and Make up
Hello ladies,
Today I went to a trial for makeup and it was a disaster. I felt like a clown version of a bride. I felt so bad in the subway going back home with that on my face... But the good news is after that I went on my favorite makeup website (smashbox) and found a look easy and fun that I could archive my self. I mostly always get my makeup from smashbox or lise watier, look at their how to video and reproduce the look its really easy to follow. So this is what I'm going to do on my wedding too, im sure to be satisfied with the result as I can pratice until I make it perfect for me. i will get the Shade of fames kits for the eyes and for the lips, we so many colors options i'm sure too be able to find the look I want and that match me. The first picture give a good idea of the look im going for. For my hair now, I cant have a trial done because i'm living in Alberta and the wedding is in Quebec. I decide to ask my mom to do my hair. I am going with a simple but pretty donut hair style. My mom use to do that in my hair when I was a kid so im not worry .It will be really nice. (pic 2) |

The main elements/ DIY project
For our outdoor neon wedding we are making all of the decor ourself. here are the main element and how I plan to have them done.
- Giant balloon (91 cm) with decorated handle (pic 1) need to buy all the balloon and for the handle decoration, I will get wire and i will tie to them some party table skirt. Can be done the day before the wedding. - Plastic animal painted in neon color (pic 3) We bought neon spray paint from wal-mart and now we just need to find toys plastic animal and make them wedding worthy. can be done long in advance. - A tree or 2 decorated with our picture (pic 4) We will take picture from our childhood album and make copies of them at Staples. We also need to get wood clip that i will spay paint with neon color.also need wire (same that we will use for the balloon). we will prepare all the element but it was to be assemble on the morning of the wedding. - lots of ribbon (sweet table background, on our mrs/ms chairs, on our arch and maybe more) (pic 5) Just need to found ribbon with neon color. they can be tie to the desire element on the day before the wedding. - and also lots of paper chain garland pic (6) I will get lots of neon paper in bulk, precut them and with the help of my family assemble everything the week before the wedding. As it is paper they will need to be install the morning of the wedding. -our mrs/ms sign. Need to get metal wire that I will cover with wood and than I will shape it into madame /monsieur (Im french Canadian) sign. Can be done in advance just need to install it the day before the wedding or the morning of. (pic 7) -our card boxe/wish station: (pic 8) i will get a old dresser, put some potted flower in some of the drawer and on the table they will card and envelope available for our guest to give us wishes. They will also be a honeymoon fund luggage/box and some fresh cut flower. Plus i will make a bon voyage sign (pic 9). decorated lugage and Sign can be made in advance the rest is just to assemble the day before and add the paper and box the day of. - I also going to make mini easel sign (cake table, wish station, bon appetit, ice cream staion and sweet heart table). I fund the wood easel at dollar store I need to paint them with neon color and paint the wanted message on the mini paint board. can be made long in advance. - we will also have a Candy/Sundae station for later in the after noon. I will just decorate this table with some of the ribbon paper chain. The sundae station will also have a nice frame picture of my grand-father who past away. He use to be the one making sundae station in our family reunion every year. I need to find a good picture of him and a nice frame plus another frame with a cute text inside. Frame can be made in advance - Finally our photobooth backdrop. It is simply a white sheet that i will add neon chevron stripes and guest will be free to take picture at this spot. background can me made in advance. just nned to hang it the day of. This is it. 2 month to go and lots to do but I know I can do it with a well plan schedule. Good luck to me! |

The colors
White and Neon
As the wedding is fast approaching we decide to go with a combo of colors that will not be too hard to match. All the neon colors, as kids from the 80's and a fun couple, neon is matching us perfectly. And plus this is of the the HIGHLIGHT of our life, :P !

A free-Spirit Modern style wedding. White is our main color with pop of neon color everywhere. After changing our plan about a dozen of time... Our wedding is happening in 2 months from now!!! We have never been so exited and in love. Life is beautiful!! xox
