Amazing alternative to firework

Wow, someone from another website just recomend me those lantern, it look really amazing.Cheaper than firework but still look amazing.
They are for sale on amazon here is the link :http://www.amazon.com/Wishlantern%C2%AE-Pack-10-Individually-Wrapped/dp/B001H3AMBQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1298420562&sr=8-2

and a description from the website...

Wish LanternsTM are the highest quality mini hot air balloons that are currently available in the USA. When inflated they stand 108cm tall and 66cm wide at its widest point, and are therefore perfect for individuals to set off alone or en masse at parties and weddings.

After release the Wish Lantern will burn for approximately twelve minutes, and then self-extinguish and float gently to the ground. Made of 100% biodegradable material they will bio-degrade in two to three days. Wish Lanterns are completely environmentally friendly and safe to use.

The Wish Lantern is based around the design of the first hot air balloon - The Kongming Lantern - which is said to have been invented by the sage and military strategist Zhuge Liang. Chinese lanterns are claimed to date as far back as the 3rd century AD as a type of signalling balloon. Similar products are also known as sky Lanterns or Khoom Fay.

Simply light the fuel cell at the bottom of the lantern and watch as it gracefully floats up into the sky. Each Wish LanternTM comes individually wrapped with a set of safety instructions enclosed and a sleeve of silica gel in each sleeve. Wish LanternsTM are the must-have party item - fireworks will never be the same again.

I thought about using these since I'm having an evening outdoor wedding.....I was just leary because they usual actual flames and what if it catches something on fire.

There are some videos on youtube of people setting them off and they are beautiful but they also appear to be troublesome.

I love these. I saw them a couple of months ago online and I think they are beautiful in practice and as a symbol of hope and new beginnings. I was actually thinking of having our guests write their wishes on the outside and then light and release them as a send off at the end of the night. WAY better than fireworks in my opinion because it's so peaceful :)

This is the first time I have heard of these and they look so neat!  Unfortunately for me, we are getting married in kinda of a big, busy town and our reception site is right off of a very busy road so I don't see how these would work.  But I love the idea and am definitely keeping this in mind for anything I could possibly use them for in the future, Thanks!!!
