Aisle runners
Has anyone found any monogram (or other) aisle runners at a good price? I've seen the ones at oriental trading and places like that, but don't really care for them much.

Also, is there a particular type of runner that would be better for sand than other hard surfaces?

I ordered mine from www.chicuniqueinc.com
I comparison shopped for quite a while and I found that this place had the nicest ones for a decent price.  You can get them with the ribbons up the side and the personalization doesn't cost an arm and a leg!  When I priced what I wanted at www.originalrunners.com they told me it would be close to $600 but at www.chicuniqueinc.com it was about $250.  Much better.

As for sand vs. hard surface, you should be okay.   Most of the runners you can order are for sand or grass use, if you need it for a hard surface you are looking at ones with "non slip" backing, and they are super expensive.

If none of these options work out you could always buy an ivory runner from Michaels, blow your monogram up huge at Kinko's, put it underneath the runner and paint your own monogram onto the runner.  Not a project for the DIY faint of heart!

Have you seen this site?

She's a DIY maniac and I guess she does custom monogram aisle runners--I don't know what she charges, but I figure it's worth a shot!
Good luck!

You should put a hard surface under it, thats what we'd have to do if we go with the venue with the grass. Like an indoor out door carpeting... are you wearing heels? Or going barefoot?

I would suggest putting something under your runner, like a bamboo mat.  This way it keeps it from sinking.  (My friend did the same thing when she got married on a beach)

I make custom runners & have only done one for someone using them on the sand.  They used a runner mat (similar to the bamboo mat like tena suggested.
