Pink One Month Later A looong overdue update!

One Month Later
A looong overdue update!
This will be my last post on my wedding blog, as the big day has come and gone and I have been a Mrs. for over a month now! It's crazy how time flies.

Just an update for those who took the time to follow what was going on with my wedding plans. Thank-you for your support! I made it through my wedding day and it was perfect. I know probably every bride says this, but I had the most beautiful wedding I could have imagined. In fact, it was beyond what I could've imagined! The weather was lovely, all of our helpers went way above what we ever expected of them and we had an amazing time.

Unfortunately, there are no pics yet. We weren't able to take any ourselves, which was to be expected. We are waiting for our professional photos which will still be a couple of months. I am so anxious to see them and will try to post some when we have them.

Thank-you again to all of the wonderful girls here. I hope my fellow June brides had wedding days just as perfect as I did. Good luck to the rest of the brides-to-be in their planning. Enjoy it, and don't stress too much, because as people will tell you, it will all come together in the end :)

Pink 8 Days Thank-you for everything!

8 Days
Thank-you for everything!
Well, I never thought the day would come, but I am 8 days away from being married. With the next few days being hectic ones filled with errands and last-minute details, this will probably be my last post - unless something crazy happens. And let's hope it doesn't :P

For those who have taken the time to read my blog, and have been kind enough to reply with answers and suggestions, thank-you :) I will update with wedding details when we return from our honeymoon.

I hope everything is going perfectly for the ladies getting married this month. I am sure the hard work you have put into your big day will pay off and hope you all have beautiful weddings. To the brides who are starting to plan or are in the middle of it all - enjoy it and have fun! It goes by so quickly.

So...until next time, good luck to everyone!

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
10 days to go...and I'm ring-less! **Update**
***UPDATE - Well, if any of you just clicked on this, and don't feel like reading my entire rant - the jeweller called back this morning and both my engagement ring and wedding band are en route to the ring company be fixed. They shipped it priority, so it's expected to get to its destination tomorrow, and they have assured us that they will both be back in time for the wedding. So, right now, I'm not going to panic, but if it's this time next week and I don't have a ring, I am going to FREAK OUT! They have been really good otherwise, so I don't anticipate any problems. Still, not something I want to worry about at this stage in the game. Keeping my fingers crossed!

So....tonight, out of nowhere, I decided that I would try on my wedding band (yes, I do that sometimes....). My mom, who happened to be over for a visit, asked to try it on too (and yes...SHE does that sometimes! lol). Being more observant than I obviously am, she noticed that a diamond was missing in the band and sure enough, when I looked, there was a gaping...small, but still gaping, hole where a diamond should have been.

We called the jeweller who said to bring it in and if they had the band in stock, they would simply exchange it for us. Of course, they didn't have another available, so now they are going to fix it, but with no promise that it will be done in 10 DAYS when we get married. If that's the case, I guess I will just have to use the ring and have it fixed later.

Oh, but it gets worse.....

My engagement ring is under a lifetime warranty. And for the warranty to stay effective, it goes in to the jeweller for a "check up" every six months. Since we were at the store anyway tonight, and since the engagement ring was due to be checked, we figured we'd kill two birds with one stone and have them look at it tonight. WELL....as it turns out, two of the stones in my engagement ring are loose. So now, they have both rings and I have nothing.

I'm really hoping they can get them fixed in time. Sure, I can use them on my wedding day (well, I hope I can), but I don't want to go on my honeymoon without my wedding band. Maybe it's silly, but it means a lot to me! Also, it makes me question the quality of these two rings that were NOT cheap!

Worst case scenario, if I have no rings on my wedding day, I am going to buy look-alike Walmart costume jewellery for $10. Okay, maybe I am partially kidding, but no one would know. I'd be so sad though. Of all things, this almost has me in tears tonight.

I wonder what other silly things can go wrong in the next week?

Hair Trial today!
I am going for my hair trial this morning. I've been saving pictures of styles I like over the months, and funny enough, they are all very similar. The pics are what I have it narrowed down to.

I usually highlight my dark(ish) blonde hair at home...can't bring myself to spend $100+ dollars each time at the salon, but I am going to splurge today and have it done professionally. It's a pretty big deal for me and is my one wedding "treat" for myself. lol.

So much to do today! As luck (and bad luck!) would have it, today is my ONE day off in the past week.....and tomorrow I start a ten-day stretch at work which will bring me verrrry close to wedding day. I'm a bit stressed thinking about it so I'm just going to tackle the things I need to get done, one day at a time. Normally I would have made a fuss about so many work days, but my boss was awesome with giving me pretty much all of June off for wedding & honeymoon when she really didn't have to....so any extra hours worked will help the impact of having so much time off.

How is everything going for all of the June brides? It's crunch time now! :)

Ceremony Programs
I was unable to make my own programs. Well, I could have, but the endless hours of messing around with the computer would not have paid off...I know that right now. lol.

Anyway, as it turns out, FH knew someone who was able to whip some up for us AND for a price we really couldn't say no to (we got an awesome deal). We decided to print them on white cardstock paper, double sided. It's simple, and it saved us tons of time with folding, and other decoration (I had REALLY wanted to tie them with ribbons originally). I think it's a straightforward, modern look which is what I was hoping for.

The photos are of the front, and back of our program.

Three weeks from now.....
....I will be an hour away from my wedding ceremony (and probably more nervous/anxious - in a good way of course - than ever before in my life! lol).

Hard to believe it's come up so fast.

In the meantime, I am off to spend some of the gift certificates I got from my bridal shower. It's sunny and warm and a perfect day to get out of the house!

Have a good weekend, girls!

I didn't wear the pink dress....
I decided to go with black for my shower. I just wasn't having a "pink" day yesterday. Anyway, I'm now selling the pink dress I had purchased to wear to my bridal shower. I bought it online from JC Penney about six weeks ago. Tags are gone, but it has never been worn. If you need more details, just let me know! It's very pretty and fits beautifully.

The link kind of messes up the text of the post as it's long. The photo is from JC Penney's website. If you search "hot pink empire dress", you should be able to find it on there for more info. Or just ask :)

Bridal Shower Today!!!
*Update*
My bridesmaids have been planning this for three months. I can't believe the day is finally here. I still don't know a single detail, other than to be at my BM's house at 2:30 this afternoon. It's a long weekend, so some of my out-of-town friends have made the trip in as well which I am thrilled about! The bachelorette party is later this evening and I have no clue if I will be sent home to get ready for that, or if this is going to be an all day thing. I'm super excited, and just a lil bit nervous to see what the girls have planned. I'm not the type of person who handles being completely clueless very well! lol. I will report back tomorrow :)

Hope you ladies are all having a great weekend!

UPDATE: Yesterday was great! My bridesmaids threw two fantastic parties. I had 10 people at my bridal shower, which was the perfect number. Everyone knew each other, and it was casual but intimate. I got so many nice things (even friends' moms sent gifts....totally unexpected but so sweet of them!). The bachelorette party was at my BM's place. One of my friends is a Passion Party consultant, so I should've known something was up, but was completely surprised when I saw the basement was set up with a stripper pole and a variety of adult items. It didn't get too crazy.....my mom and a friend of hers were invited and showed up. lol. It was a lot of fun and I don't think I have laughed as hard as I did last night in months! I must say, my friends all pulled together and I had an amazing day :)

Now that the parties are out of the way, we just have the wedding left!

Ceremony
We chose our music :)
Deciding on what music we want as part of our ceremony has surprisingly been a huge challenge for us. We don't really have the same taste in music. For example, I could think of a hundred perfect country songs for a wedding...he hates country music. We don't have a "song" that is especially meaningful to us either. So coming up with some songs that we both like was difficult, to say the least.

We met with our ceremony musician last weekend. He is a longtime friend of the family, so it wasn't too bad being completely indecisive in front of him. lol. Plus, he gave us a pretty good price. I think a live musician adds so much to a wedding, although we were okay with the idea of using pre-recorded music as well.

Our musician will play the guitar and piano, as well as sing. We left him to use his judgement as to what instrument will work best with each song. He will play an assortment of songs as the guests arrive and are seated...a mix of both old, and modern music. We wanted to keep the music simple and minimal, so he didn't have to cut songs short or have guests wait for him to finish each time someone walked down the aisle.

Our processional song is going to be "Storybook Love", a song from the movie The Princess Bride (I have never seen it or heard the song prior to a few days ago, but Andrew really likes it). It will be an instrumental version and I think it's quite pretty!

He will sing/play "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts as we sign the register. Yes, I got my country music!!!! :)

Finally, for the recessional, he will sing/play "Everything" by Michael Buble. I have always loved this song, but thought it was too fast for a first dance, so am really happy it can be incorporated into our ceremony!

Now that we've taken care of that, it'll be on to the reception music......wish me luck!

Bridal Shower & Bachelorette Weekend!
My bridal shower and bachelorette party are both taking place this Sunday. Although I have NO idea what to expect, I am really looking forward to seeing my friends and family and having a good time!

I've been kept in the dark about what is happening exactly. All I know is that my bridal shower is going to be held at a bridesmaid's house, and that I am to dress in my wedding colors. I have a dilemma though - the pink dress I bought online a few weeks back (I posted about it) might take a back seat to a black dress that I already own. It's SO hard to decide! Ladies, do I go pink with black accessories, or black with pink? Yeah....I know, it's a pretty good life when all you have to worry about is what shoes to match with your dress. Believe me, I'm stressing about a million other things, but thought I'd keep this post happy and upbeat! lol.

Anyway - I'll have a hot pink dress for sale after this weekend...either brand new, or worn once :P I know I won't have an appropriate place to wear it again.

My bachelorette is taking place on Sunday evening. That is literally all I've been told. I have no clue what we might be doing. The bars and lounges are closed on Sundays....along with most other places. I was also told to book Monday off of work. Maybe we're going somewhere? Maybe they're planning a crazy night and figure I will need the sleep the next day? Maybe my MOH asked me to book it off so we could do stuff for her upcoming wedding? I guess I will know in a few days!

I've said it before, but will say it again...I have the best friends a girl could ask for!
