Ask a Question
What to include in a ceremony program?

I am completely lost. I told my fiance that I would start putting together our program for the ceremony and have no idea where to start. I did a bit of looking around and found these must-haves, courtesy of theknot.

- Full names of bride & groom
- Wedding date & location
- Ceremony outline
- Music selections (composers, performers, lyrics, etc)
- Wedding party bios/relationship to couple
- Officiant
- Thank-yous

Are there any other basics I'm missing? Has anyone made their own and willing to share pics? I'd like to have something unique, but simple but am AWFUL at anything crafty - so it needs to be pretty straight-forward.

Thanks!

That is pretty much what its mine, the outline and music is all together and we are not doing bios/relationship to the couple of the bridal party

I think that's pretty much it...
-on ours, the front/cover page has our monogram that includes our first names and the date.
-the inside first page is a list of  who's involved and how we know those people (parents, the wedding party, pastors name, musical talent...)
-2nd page inside has a list of events: 'opening prayer', vows' ,'signing of the registry',special music.....
-on the back cover we have a "thank you" and we also have a quote from a bible verse.

Thanks so much, ladies.

Did you make your own programs or have them professionally done? I'm trying to keep costs down, especially being so close to the wedding now...want to keep some funds free for any unexpected things that might pop up. I've been playing around with Publisher but am not sure if it's best to do it that way, or to go all out with scissors and glue!

I made mine in a program called "indesign'...it's kinda like illustrator and photoshop. (I do graphic design at work so it just made sense to stay after work and use their programs) :)  I haven't printed them out yet but I just plan on printing them out on a nice paper from staples and maybe adding a little ribbon to the fold.. it definitely saves costs to do them yourself though!

If you can't figure out the program and don't want to kill yourself over cutting and gluing...feel free to send me what you want on it and the size you want and I can do it up and make it into a pdf for you to print out?  I can send you mine first to show you what I did...just let me know via email if you want:)

You're a sweetheart! Thank you for the offer :)

Today is the first day I've actually given our program any thought. I knew we had to do one, but expected it to be simple. I will talk about the details with my fiance and will get back to you if we can't work something out. Thank you again...soooo much :)
