So I'm back to work today, but just wanted to share my beautiful wedding day.
The weather was beautiful - 28 degrees and sunny, I arrived 20 minutes late for my wedding as I was getting my hair done even til the last minute, but I had to make the hubby sweat a little right?!??!

Before I started walking down the aisle, I got to look over a balcony that overlooked the ceremony location where my hubby was standing there waiting for me and that just made me break down in tears, it was FOR REAL!!!! having my dad walking me down the aisle and holding my hand and telling me to "slow down" was such a nice experience that I will cherish and never forget.

Vic looked so handsome and it was such a beautiful wedding ceremony, other than the judge calling me Karen...haha. Oh and our limo had no air conditioning and our champaign was warm...so Toronto brides DO NOT USE Enchanted Limo's!!!! Oh well, didn't let any of that ruin my day! But the ceremony was filled with so much love and we both were there for the moment and enjoying every second of it. I am so lucky to have met this man and have him now as my husband! I can't believe it is actually all over. All that planning and stressing, but you know what...it was totally worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a beautiful wedding day, that everyone commented was very classy, elegant, filled with love...what else could I ask for?!?!

our head table - we did an informal head table with everyones dates sitting across from them and I'm so happy that we did, because it made it way more fun!!!!!!!


our tables were done every other in damask and the others in black satin linens....everything just looked absolutely stunning together, my vision came together so nicely...THANK GOD!!!!!

our guest favors that me and my bridesmaids worked so hard on along with the menus in the napkins and the place cards...loved it all!

Just thought this may inspire some of you, or help you out deciding what you want or don't want to do for your day....I wasn't a fan of the daisies in the centerpeices, but now looking at them, I dont mind them at all. It was an outdoor wedding, so it kinda fit in I think.

I can't believe this weekend is almost here!!!! The past few months have just whizzed by and I'm now 2 days away from marrying my love....I feel like such a lucky girl to be marrying this amazing man who treats me like his queen.


Wedding-Countdowns

WBC girls, you are seriously the BEST! I'm so happy I came across this site because without all of you, my wedding would not be the same. All your advice, creative idea's and support has made this wedding planning experience something to remember. So I wanted to THANK YOU all!!!!!

The next few days will be busy ones, with last minute prepping for the big day, mani/pedi's today and cleaning the house for our guests coming over Sunday after the wedding, rehearsal dinner tomorrow and MY WEDDING DAY Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I'm signing off for now, but I'm hoping I have some time to check back in before....I'll make sure to post pics as soon as I can!!!!!!

So we finally finished our very last DIY project, our s'mores bar!!!! So thank you mzhart for this awesome idea!!!!!
FH just put 2x4's together into a box and I painted it a glossy black and filled it with fishtank stones and then put the miniture propane filled candles in.

I took a close up pic of the candles, as I wasn't sure what to use and then found these in the camping section at Canadian Tire, so thought if anyone was doing this for their wedding, it may help them out!

My girls threw me my bachelorette this weekend and just wanted to share some pix...

We started the evening off meeting up at my sisters place and having some apps, drinks and PRESENTS (including this hot little number in the pic)...then off to a bar that has a huge rooftop patio, so we sat outside took in the beautiful weather, drank lots, danced lots....
Then they surprised me with 2 male "models" (I use the term loosely) to be at my beck and call all night there, so they were mixing our drinks, making us shots and doing whatever else we needed them to do...it was HILARIOUS!!!!!

Had a blast...just 5 more days til my wedding! can't wait!

I found the treasure chest like boxes at our local dollarstore and am going to use them as the bathroom baskets.


Things are slowly coming along....still have to make our s'mores bar and fix up our vintage photo wall...it just needs a few minor changes....

I'm sooo ready for my bachelorette party this weekend! Just one week away from the big day, so can't wait to get out and celebrate with my best girls!!!

I put alot of work into these, as they didn't have any black frames left, so I had to prime, then paint them all and then I re-did the printing as well. I have my before, first try and after pix.

July 10th brides....our time has almost arrived!!!!!!

My girlfriend who did our invites, did our menu too.
This is just a rough copy of it, our monogram will be brought up into the lace at the top.

We had enough damask going on with our linens, guest favor boxes and the
card box, thought we'd mix it up a bit with a lace accent... what do ya think?!?!?
LOVE IT!!! :)

Then another girlfriend is a florist and will be doing our flowers for us, so I went over and helped her put the strand of pearls in our centerpeice.

The pic isn't the greatest, but how we did this was re-strung the pearls with
wire and then pulled the wire through the foam top that will be
holding the flower stems in and tadaaaaaa!!!!! I think it'll look
great.

Thanks to the inspiration from a past WBC bride - vintageglamourbride we have finally completed our vintage photowall!


We hit a few bumps in the road, like how to do the legs to hold it up sturdy and thanks to sarahdarling, we basically duplicated the same legs and it worked out perfect!!!


All in all I'm happy with how it turned out...now onto the next DIY...s'mores bar!!!!! :) FH is gonna kill me!!!! hahaha.


How we did this....FH first built the wood frame and then we attached a thin cardboard for the wall with nails, so it wouldn't be as heavy (although it still is!!!) We then cut the hole for the open frame with an knife. For wall paper I just used wrapping paper and double side taped it to the cardboard. And then nailed in hangers just like you would into a wall for the picture frames.

Hope this helps anyone that is thinking of doing something similar. I'm hoping it'll be a success at the reception!!!!!

I thought I was losing it, was sitting in my office and all of a sudden I hear shaking and it felt like my feet were moving with the ground. I seriously thought I was imagining it, until I heard all over the news...and all over facebook of course that there was in fact a 5.5-magnitude earthquake!

So a few months back we had our marriage prep course with my FH's family's church. As his family is pretty religious in the Catholic religion, we decided to go ahead with the marriage course and will be having our rings blessed in the church after our outdoor wedding ceremony.

One of the topics that came up was living together before marriage. They had said that there is a much higher divorce rate if you live together before marriage. They couldn't really explain why, but that it was proven that the divorce rate was higher with those who lived together prior.

Now, me and my FH obviously disagree with this, as we have been living together for the past 3 years, we bought a house after 6 months of being together, have 2 dogs, a cat, the whole shibang... we basically have our family all together, other than the babies.....and we're happy as ever. We've gotten to know eachother even more over those 3 years of living together and I personally think that it was good choice for us.

We've shared some really great times together and also got to see how eachother reacts to stressful situations and how we work can work through them together. So what could be so wrong about that??? I think if anything, it's made me even more positive that our marriage will last a lifetime.

So my question is...how many of you are living together before marriage and who isn't???

Got my favors done the other night, some of my BM's came over to help out!
Thank God! It took us over 3 hours to do 100 of them.

What do ya think?!?! They turned out pretty cute! We'll be having
our baker put mini cupcakes in each of the boxes for the guests.

So I really love this dress by Sherri Hill...but I just called in to get the price and it's around $500!!!!

What should I do? Do you think that's way too much money to spend on a dress you may possibly only wear for one night????

On the other hand, you don't have any other night like this one EVER again and this dress will be altered to fit my body perfect, so its way better than store bought!!!!
Plus, if I want to get it, I have to order it NOW, as my stagette is in 2 weeks!!!!

I found this helpful and thought you ladies may too...I still need to figure out our speeches and am dreading them...can anyone help me to what order the thank you's should be done in?

My Top Tips for wedding speeches are -

1) Keep it Simple. There's a certain etiquette to follow in the speeches even if it's an informal wedding. For example, the Groom will thank the Bridesmaids for attending to the Bride and tell them how lovely they look - not forgetting the Bride too of course! Covering the 'thank yous' alone may not be the most hilarious or memorable wedding speech but it's better then trying to be something you're not and dragging out anecdotes. Which brings me to ...

2) Keep it Relevant. Hilarious stories about the Club 18-30 Holiday you went on in 1985 may be highly entertaining for the group of friends who were there with you but for your Aunts and Uncles they may not be so enthralling. Also, remember the sensitivities of stories involving ex-girlfriends and ex-boyfriends! They may be told in fun, but as part of a wedding speech they could upset someone!

3) It's the Bride's Day! This is a key point - the Groom's speech should certainly mention how wonderful the bride looks, some touching story of how they met or a special time together. It makes me cringe to hear the Groom repeat how much of a 'best mate' the Best Man is and what a great life they've had together - I sometimes think he's married the wrong person!

4) Acknowledge Help and Support. That's everything from the Parents who helped with the deposit for the house to Aunty Pat who made the place names for the tables. Thank Yous are key to a wedding speech.

5) Stay Sober! (ish!) Again there's nothing worse than a slurring or over emotional Groom delivering a wedding speech!

6) Let the Bride have her say! Not completely traditional, but it's common for the Bride to end the round of wedding speeches with a quick and final thank you and possibly to present flowers or gifts to guests

7) Use the phrase 'My wife and I..' I've yet to be at a wedding when the audience doesn't sigh with emotion - or even break into applause! - at this. Of course it works the other way too - if it's the Bride's speech 'My husband and I would like to thank you all for coming today..' will knock them dead! Go for the dramatic pause after those first two words and I guarantee a warm reaction.

If I go for one more tip it would be 'relax and enjoy it!' I know that's easier said then done for many people but look at the wedding speech as a way to publicly acknowledge people for their help, to tell those close to you what they mean to you and deliver special messages to loved ones. You owe them that so see this as the perfect opportunity!

Well here it is...with over 1 year of planning and anticipation the time has almost arrived! I still can't believe how fast the past few months have gone by!

I put all my DIY stuff together that I want at my reception line table...it all came together so nicely...I'm a proud DIY'er!!!!


I have our cardbox with a photobook I did at Walmart as our guest book,
our donation to the CCS framed with 2 candle holders that will have white
pomander balls on them. The empty frame will have our seating chart in it.

Yaaa...more to go, but we're getting there!!!! 1 month left!!!! AAaaaaaa.....

We picked up our wedding bands tonight and I LOVE MINE!!!! It feels like Im wearing an insane amount of diamonds on my hand...yes Im wearing it right now as I type! haha.


FH's band is a stainless steel ring and he loves it! I tried to get him to get white gold, but he didn't want to spend that much on a ring....so this is what he ended up getting. I actually like it alot, the only downside is that if his finger gets bigger/smaller they can't resize steel, but for the price, its not a big deal.


Anyone elses hubby to be go with stainless steel instead of the traditional gold?!??!

Just had my final bridal shower this past weekend that my girlfriends threw me and had a great time catching up with everyone. It was a beautiful day out too, so needless to say we were outside the whole afternoon, sippin on mimosa's, nibbling on the yummy spread...cant get any better than that!

37 more days to go....OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD!!!! Where did all the time go???? I am so excited, but also have so much stuff to get done! aaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With a little less than 2 months to go til we're hitched, we went out in search of our wedding bands this weekend and were very happy with what we found and pricing too!

FH wasn't too happy about the price mine was quoted originally, but then we went elsewhere and got a really good price, like $600 less than what was quoted at the first place.

Mine just matches my e-ring and FH wont be able to wear his ring daily, because of his job, so he decided he wanted just a stainless steel ring.

Love them both and should be getting them by the end of the month! yaaaa...our list keeps getting smaller and smaller of things to do! Cant wait til the day FINALLY comes!!!!! :)

We had our first pre-wedding celebration this past weekend and it
was so much fun! My centerpeices turned out great...other than
the fact that we didn't have enough teapots/cups, but we
improvised.

Drinks and the meal were really yummy and it sounds like our
guests really had a good time! So I couldn't be happier. We had
a good turn out and Im absolutely exhausted today from all the
work we and our bridal party and parents put into it.

Just thought I'd share a few pictures from it, I did the centerpeices
myself and thought maybe some of you would get some inspiration
from them as well. It was way more cost effective and everyone
loved them.

And I love them! They're the perfect height for me and super comfy! The shoe clips fit perfectly and just add that extra touch that they needed! Im a happy girl!

No turning back now ladies....we got our marriage licence today and it cost $120!!!! WTF? I really didn't think it was going to cost that much, I was thinking more around $50!!! Is this around what it costs everywhere? Im in Ontario, so was just curious?!?

This is all making all this waiting and planning feel more like it's actually going to happen and SOON!!!! yaaaa :)
