All things happen for a reason!
So a few months ago a lot of things were going bad for me. One of those things was that the bridesmaids dresses I loved were discontinued. I have looked everywhere and hadn't really found anything I liked as much as those dresses. Well I stumbled across this website called unique_vintage.com and found THE PERFECT DRESSES!!!! They are adorable! I love the 50's look they have and the coloris EXACTLY what I was looking for! It is such a fun site and I would reccomend just going and looking at all the fun stuff they have! I found the swimsuit that I want for next summer too! It's all just too much fun! Anyway I am so excited and all that crap I went through earlier this year has all resolved into stuff that was way better than what I thought I wanted! Like I said...all things happen for a reason!

Wedding Reception
WE FINALLY FOUND IT!
So since the last time I posted Jess and I have decided to have a country feel to our wedding. We have been looking everywhere for a decent barn with a decent price. Well finally we came to a place in a little town Creston, CA. It's called the Loading Chute and it is PERFECT! The place is only $1000 and it has a barn but still has the beauty of the garden so it's more elegent. They also do the food and full service and clean up for $20 a person! Basically...we do nothing! How great is that! I am so thrilled to have found a place. My dad plays in a country band calle Narrow Road and so they will be playing for part of the reception so that will be a special thing for our family. We also decided to move the date to June 11. It ismy grandparents 50th anniversary that day and we thought that would make it that much more special for everyone! What's really neat is without even trying we have the same colors and everything! Well I'm very excited and I feel that now that we have a place, the planning can begin!

New Idea
I came across an ad the other day while I was getting my hair done for my sister's wedding (which was incredible by the way!). Though I was feeling devestated by the bridesmaids dresses being discontinued, this article sparked my interest in something new. The ad was for lynnlugo.com where you can pretty much design your own bridesmaids dresses! You can pick colors, fabrics, and styles! I ordered a bunch of samples just to see! I'm not sure that I will choose my dresses from here, but it got me excited about picking dresses for my girls again! If you are feeling discouraged, I recomend checking it out! Have fun!

The bridesmaids dresses that I loved have been discontinued. I still can't believe it! I loved them so much! On a much lighter note my sister is getting married tomorrow! I'm so excited! My younger sister and I are surprising her with a special dance routine! All three of us LOVE the show Friends and so we are doing the routine that Ross and Monica do in season six's "The One With the Routine" It's gonna be AWESOME! Anyone who knows Friends knows what I'm talking about! I'm so excited for her specail day and to finally have a brother!

Wedding Photography
I got this idea from the show Friends
Ok so any fan of Friends has probably seen the episode where Monica and Chandler get married about a hundred times. I was watching it the other day and I thought about having disposable cameras on the tables at my reception for more informal pictures of our special day. I told Jesse about it and he loved the idea! The only problem is the extra cost. I have a photographer in mind but I don't know what he charges since he is doing my sister's wedding for free. Has anyone done this? Is it worth the extra cost? Just wondering...

About Us!
I saw this survey on several other blogs and thought it'd be fun!
How long did you date before you got engaged?
Six months and four days

Did you get the ring you wanted?
I had no idea what I wanted, but I love my ring and wouldn't trade it for anything!

Was the proposal a complete surprise?
yes and no...I knew it was coming but I thought it would be in december and he did it in june.

Do you wish you had a bigger/smaller diamond? If so How big or small?
I love mine as is! The size is perfect!

Did you cry when he proposed?
yes!

Was the proposal romantic or creative? Explain how if you'd like.
It was both! He had just returned from a 4 week long mission trip and sp we decided to spend the day at the beach. We had so much fun! For dinner we got a turkey sandwich which is what we had on our first date and we ate it in a beautiful garden with a gazebo and a little stream trickling through. He told me that he had pictured marrying me there and described the scene! He then asked me to go on a hike. We climbed this mountian and reached the top just as the sun was setting over the ocean. It was breathtaking! After catching our breath he took my hands and sang the song "I'm Not That Girl" from Wicked. But he changed the words to "I can be that boy if you'l be my girl" that's when I started to cry. He finished singing and got on one knee. We decided not to kiss until we got engaged and so he asked me to be his last first kiss and then asked me to marry him! It was so perfect!

Where do you want to go for your honeymoon?
We're not too sure anymore! We thought Hawaii or maybea cruise but with the economy the way it is, we may just spend it in Lake Taho or at my family cabin (which would be free) It's still in the works.

Are you buying his wedding band for him?
probably. I know what he wants and I've looked at several.

Have you gone over your original wedding budget?
haha not yet but I'm sure we will!

How long will you be engaged before you get married?
almost 2 years

Live together before or wait till married?
Wait to be married! I'm so excited!

Take a long time to plan the wedding or will it be simple?
Both I think. I want to take my time to make everything just right

Will you do it yourself or with family or hire someone to plan the wedding?
Family and friends already have helped a lot

Will you write your own vows or use something pre-made?
I think we'll write our own. I'm not much of a writer but Jesse is and I'm sure they'll be beautiful!

My Day
Sometimes I wonder if my wedding is actually my day. It seems as though I have so many other people to please! It's kinda frusterating since I've been dreaming of this day my whole life. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited, but I must say I will be relieved when this is all over. See I've been watching my sister as she prepares for her wedding which is in three months. Everything that she likes my mom doesn't or her future in-laws don't like. We happen to be PK's (for those who don't know that means Pastor's Kids) and both of us have always wanted our dad to officiate our wedding. But the church he works at now says that he can't marry us unless we go through this class with a pastor who in my opinion has some pretty screwey views on marriage. I am in pre marital counseling now and I love it. I strongly reccomend it because it really teaches you alot about eachother and helps prevent future fights I just don't want to take it from some guy who doesn't believe what I do. So I have to take the stupid class just so my dad can marry us! It's so frustrating! We're not even getting married at the church! My mom wants us to though and will keep pushing it until the day of I'm sure! I've always wanted to be married outside in a garden with flowers and fountians. NOT in a church. Inside just is not me. I LOVE it outside and that's where I want to get married. My grandma keeps trying to get us to change the date. It took us 3 months to finally agree on a date and she says we can't do it that day. Apparently my cousins graduate 3 days before and she just can't handle that much excitement. Not to mention all the pressure I get from the in-laws on the dumbest things! Ah well. In the end I am marrying the man of my dreams! That makes all the hoops worth while. After bein enaged for almost a year you'd think they'd get the idea that we don't really want to hear what they think anymore! People...

Well that was my fun little rant! I do love both my family and Jesse's, I just want to be left alone sometimes ya know...

PS The picture is one of my favorites...I feel like the fudgesicle right now (If you know what I mean)

Haha!

Yellow Wedding Cake Ice Cream Cupcakes? Cheesecake?

Wedding Cake
Ice Cream Cupcakes? Cheesecake?
I've been trying to think of what to do about cake. Jesse and I don't really like cake very much so I'm trying to find a better solution. His sister used ice cream cake at her wedding but that ended up being a bad idea because the cake froze and they couldn't cut it! That would be terrible! Well my sister is using cupcakes at her wedding and while I like that idea way better than a traditional cake, it's still cake. I've heard of people using ice cream cupcakes. That sounds like a good idea I just have a few questions. First of all, is it even possible to make them look elegant. My wedding isn't very formal but I still want it to look nice. Another thing I thought about is the problem of them melting by the time the guests all have them. Another option would be using cheesecake. I can't think of any draw backs to that so maybe that'll be what I do. Of course, we both like red velvet cake so maybe we could do that. There are just too many options! I am open for suggestions and any helpful hints! I have the benefit of having a long time to plan but it is still nice to get some ideas in advance!

Bridesmaids
Ok so I have a difficult situation with the bridesmaids. I know that both of my sisters are going to be my maid and matron of honor. My friend Michele is another bridesmaid for sure. The hard part is I only want four and I really want my roommate Britany to be the fourth however, Jesse's sister wants to be the fourth. Actually I don't know what to do with any of his sisters. Morgan is 23 and lives in Texas. I aven't seen her in almost a year and probably wont see her until the wedding so it doesn't make much sense for her to be in it. His other sisters are 11, 9, and 7 and they are VERY disruptive. I want this day to be perfect but I don't have a clue how to do that without hurting the feelings of my future in laws. I am open to any suggestions.

On a better note after months of searching I found the perfect biridesmaids dresses! Let me know what you think! I am having a garden wedding in the spring and it looked so cute on Britany! They are from David's Bridal and I love them!
