I'm Engaged!!!

2 yrs seems like forever but it goes so fast!! when we got engaged it our date was over 2 yrs and now we have just a little less then a yr to go!! Congratulations girl!!

Its a toughie, depends on how much you love planning and weddings all together. If you LOVE weddings and enjoy DIY ing (Do it Yourself) projects than two years is a great timeline. It gives you ample opportunity to really DIY your own projects and make your wedding fabulous with the bonus of being budget savvy bride. Plus you can really enjoy the process and all the excitement.

If you're anything like me, lol, you just can't wait !!!!! It is definitely possible to have everything you want in gin a year too if you really  get down to things! First things first is to book a reception hall quick if you do it a year from now - they book before you've even thought about the subject ;)

Either decision, good luck with the planning and excitement ... let the fun begin!

Congrats, pretty ring!!! I will be engaged for a total of 19 months average they say is 17 months.  Let me tell you the first 9 months killed me felt like it was going to take 4ever!!  We planned to only have an 11 month engagement but pushed it back so that all of our family could make it.  Thank goodness we did because we can afford to do everything we want.  So I totally agree with amiee114.  Weigh your options!! and most of all GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY PLANNING!!!

Congrats girl! Welcome to the family!! :) I just got engaged this past september and we are getting married August 25, 2012. I thought it would be lots of time becuase it was just under a year but it seems like everything I've booked so far they've all said "Oh yes, that's one of our last available dates for next summer!" So if you want your wedding next year go for it!! but make sure you get on everything NOW :) lol... but if you're not picky about exactly what vendors you want (like i was)  then you should be fine to find availability!!!

Your engagement time just really depends on your funds and what kind of wedding you want to have. Plus the dates available for your venue. My total engagement will be 17 months. At first it seemed like it was so far away and now I have 136 days to go. There's a lot that has to get done if you plan on planning the wedding yourself and time is the best thing you have :-)

honestly, we will be engaged for almost 2 years (21 months) and it's honestly gone by so fast.... we now have 6 and a half months to go and i cannot believe it!!!!

if you can do it in a shorter time, like aimee114 said, it is totaly possible. but if you need to save (because it does get expensive) then wait those 2 years. it goes by fast, trust me. good luck xox setting the date is so exciting =)

Thank you everyone for the feedback! I am already loving you guys!!! I talked to my mom just a little a bit ago and she is pushing for a year instead of 2. She is eager to help out where needed, so know I am looking at venues seriously to figure out where to start with my budget.
