So we had intended on finishing a good chunk of the centerpieces. two problems A) did not have enough time this weekend and B) did not have all supplies/place to store them.
Oh and my fingers also hurt from fiddling with the broken hot glue gun. So far they are turning out fantastically though! Pretty gems dangling from tree branches :-) The tree in the pic isn't finished, but you kinda get the idea |

Stressing me out lol
So my mom and I designed the wedding invitations since she's a photographer and has a printing company she can go through for them. She designs invitations all the time for graduations and things like that. We spent eight hours designing one we both liked (she's paying) and that my FH also liked. We ordered a sample of 4 invites to see how they looked in print and...eh. The inside looked great, but the outside just wasn't good. It wasn't the cards themselves it was our design. It just was way too busy or something. So we are redesigning the invites and this is what I have come up with so far. What do you think?
P.S. You have to design them in templates...the red line is the fold line (the front of the card will be on the bottom of the fold line the back of the card will be on top of the fold line and will be upside down. For the inside the bottom part of the card will be below the fold line and the top (usually blank) part will be above the fold line. We're doing a horizontal 5x7 card that opens from the top as of right now.) Also my design program was flaking out on me so I don't have the text on the inside yet. We are also re-doing the 'Fall in Love' that's faded on the front to make it more curvy...like it's blowing in the wind. My mom and I are going into business making stationary for special events like weddings, under her photography business umbrella. We have made tons of cute cards, but my own is causing problems! There are some subtle changes we've made since I made them into jpgs but you get the idea! |

Wedding Reception

So the DJ packet came in the mail today and I have two weeks to fill out the contract (not a big deal) and from now until the mid of September to decide what songs we want for special things, what other music we want, what we don't want played, the order we want things to happen at the reception etc.
Exciting! So far I know our first dance is going to be Chicago-Inspiration [it was my parents' first dance too :-) ] Father-daughter dance is going to be Kenny Chesney - There Goes my Life Bouquet toss song is going to be All the Single Ladies by Beyonce I want the "anniversary dance" (invite couples married 5 years, 10 years, 15 years etc to join the floor w/ you) to be Randy Travis -Forever and Ever Amen I asked my sister (MOH) for wedding party entrance songs for the reception and she responded with Le Régiment de Sambre et Meuse (the song the Ohio State marching band does Script Ohio to)...yeah...about that... |

We want a fall wedding so we went with 10-16-10. The day also happens to be sweetest's day (by coincidence only). Our color is orange with accents using deep reds, browns, champagnes and perhaps olive greens. I will narrow it down I swear.
I like the idea of using branches/trees (symbolic of two family trees coming together) and the theme of "fall in love." Cliche but hey I like it. I like leaves and white mini pumpkins too.
