DIY Wedding
Dyed Crinoline.. Help!

I dyed my crinoline tonight. I order two bottles of aqua dye from ritdye.com and I thought it would be perfect. I did it in the washing machine and used both bottles because of the dye to weight of fabric ratio. Well it turned out too dark, more like teal. So we put it back in the washer with a little bit of bleach to lighten it and it turned gray. So now I am stuck. I don't want to order more dye because it was kind of expensive. I have one box of royal blue dye and I think I am going to just use it. This is what I wanted for my something blue, besides my shoes so blue is blue..

Wow, that's good to know about 2 bottles of Aqua=teal? Interesting...I wonder if 1 bottle would of did it?  Doing it blue would be definitely you blue needed for something borrowed and something blue. Maybe one more bottle like you said in Aqua may do the trick if it's already now gray? Good luck and keep up posted.

I did three boxes if the royal and it came out an electric blue! lol, I loved it though.

I dyed mine over the weekend too.  I bought two bottles of purple and it came out lilac.  I bought two more and got lavender.  Still not medium to dark purple.  I'm going to try it again tonight... I didn't do it in the washing machine though, I have a huge blue bucket we use to hold sodas for parties and thought it would be perfect. Maybe the washing machine would work better...
