Wedding Favors
country meets city wedding = jars of jelly + candy buffet

I always do both when I can't decide on just one.

On each guest's plate will be a small jar of hawberry jelly with our names and wedding date printed on the label. The jelly is made of hawberries which is a berry that is supposedly native to manitoulin island. People from the island are known as "haweaters" and there is even a haweater festival on the august long weekend to celebrate the coming home of native islanders.

As for the candy buffet, I will be placing apothecary jars (5 total) on the cake table, so that it kind of acts as a sweet table. I don't know what kind of candies to buy though....any ideas? I am also worried about the cost!

I will be ordering small sized chinese food takeout boxes in white for people to take home the candy. They are a little easier to use then cellophane bags since they sit in stacks on the table...less messy that way!

My cousin did jars of jelly for her wedding favors. She had a local lady make them then had her decorator put them out on everyone's place setting. She gave the decorator a few jars to take home and when she opened the jar at home they were mouldy! Apparently they weren't sealed properly. Make sure you check the seals when you get them!

I love the jars and hawberry helly - so cool that you picked something local and unique. That's awesome!

Candy - maybe check out your local bulk store and see what is affordable and go from there? If you're not doing bags though, I would look at predominantly sealed candy to ensure freshness for your guests :)

Love the little jars of jam! So cute. When I was still planning on doing a candy buffet, I did TONS of research online and found the best prices on like 4 or 5 different websites. You can also try to find a candy wholeseller in your area or just go to costco. They've got giant portions of all sorts of candy for good prices. :-)

Since your color is pink, you should be able to find candy easily in your local store. You should mix pink & white to give you more options. Consider M&Ms, rock candy, jordan almonds, good & plenty,  gumballs, laffy taffy, etc. Endless possibilities.
