Tips for looking good in pictures
Hi ladies! You can google this topic and get more info, but here are my secret tips for looking my best (skinniest) in pics:
1. To omit a double-chin look make sure the photographer is slightly above you- not level. If this is not possible stick your neck out towards the camera (like ET). Those in reality will be able to see you lean forward strangely but the pic will come out great. To avoid your head from looking too big get a little behind the person next to you. Bonus- your body looks smaller.
2. Make sure to suck in hard but don't show it on your face.
3. Make sure your arms are not lying on a surface spreading them out. Pull them a little away from you and if possible flex a little.
4. Practice these techniques in the mirror. Practice different angles and positions in the mirror. Really.
5. If someone wants a full body shot of you and you feel like being sassy...lean forward really far. Your face will have no double chin and your boobs will look bigger than your hips.
6. Practice sucking in your cheeks and "making a face" that just happens to be adorable. If you see a camera pointed at you you can make your accidental cute face and it will show personality and make you look like you have great cheekbones!
7. Practice pointing your face down and your eyes up. Paris Hilton does this all the time for a reason. See if it works for you.
8. Have some signature poses at the ready and if you see a camera- pop into one of them!!

Table numbers
The table numbers they use at my venue look a bit like fastfood restaurant order numbers (like they will bring the burger to your table). I looked around a good bit and found a template online for free from Martha Stewart. I used heavy cardstock, printed 2 copies and taped them back to back together. I then cut the ovals out. Looks much nicer. I certainly don't want to invoke a fastfood theme!

Wedding Reception
Question..What do you think???The getaway...rose petals or sparklers???
We are having an evening wedding on the rooftop of a hotel overlooking the city. I was considering having everyone light sparklers for our "getaway" when we leave but what would look best in a picture? At my sister's wedding they had sparklers and the pics just looked like a bunch of people standing around. Would having people through flower petals appear more festive? Would it give a more dynamic picture or would the sparklers provide pretty light?

Favor jars and Invitations
On the table at the reception hall will be the escort cards and favor jars together. Here is a sample. The favor jars came with their own labels but they didn't match my color scheme. I'm adding red jellybellys to the inside. This will bring out the red gerber daisies put in the back of the blue sashes on the chairs.

I also included a shot of my invitations. They look great!!! I'm so excited!.

A Dollar Store visit
I bought lots of neat stuff for the out of town bags and didn't spend too much. I went to the Dollar Tree and got:
sewing kit
emery boards
disposable razors
floss picks
little lint brush

I packaged these items in a little ziploc bag.

I also will include: postcard from Charlotte (bought at airport), waterbottle with custom label (in tiffany blue), little pack of tissues.

I am going to be adding chips and candy bars when it gets closer to the date. Of course there are maps of the area included and some information about who to contact with questions (not me!)

DIY
These are white cotton re-usable bags that I printed transfers and ironed on. They're finished. Now I have to fill them! Note the color of the wall behind it and you can see that this is my favorite color! I need to wash them so that the transfer does not have that outline around it.

OK, more info on this:
1. Get canvas or cotton bags online. I got mine from a place called Innovative Greetings online. They have all different colors. I chose white so my "logo" would pop. They came out to about $30 something dollars for 20 of them (about the same you would pay for paper).
2. Get transfer paper from Office Max or Office Depot; it's the kind that you do iron-on t-shirts.
3. Have fun making up your own wedding logo. Or steal mine and do your own initials. Incorporate your wedding colors. You can even put a pic of the two of you on there. You can use Microsoft word and choose the perfect color for the printing. Do a sample print out on regular paper. Like the color? Compare to your color samples till you get it right. Good.
4. Now, put the transfer paper in the printer. Select print and options. Then choose "Best" over "Normal" or "Draft". Most importantly, print in mirror image. It will come out backwards.
5. Cut it out. Iron your bag first. Put printout face down and press a warm to hot (just below hottest setting) iron on it for 20- 30 seconds. Remove from ironing board. Wait 20 seconds and peel paper off.
6. Wash the bags so the outline goes away and the printing is more permanent.

Cake Topper
I am pretty modern so I wanted something cool for the cake topper. Our initials in silver are going to look cool sitting atop a white cake.

Wedding Hair Style
Fascinator for the hair!
I ordered this feathered beauty from SheilaShik online. Love it! You can get it all different sizes. I plan to wear this low with a bubble veil peeking out from the bottom of my hair. Very 40's glam.

Matchboxes
I love these matches. They come in beautiful colors and multiple designs. They are pretty close to the Tiffany blue (close enough). I will have sparklers for when we exit the venue and these matches can be used to light them.

Aisle runner
I got the measurements for the aisle and cut it down to fit. I finished the wedding aisle runner with his (our) last initial.

I printed out our names in size 400 font script and used a sharpie for the names. You could see the letters easily through the runner. The large "F" I did the same thing and put it in the scanner and enlarged to poster size. I had to put the F together like a puzzle and tape it. What do you think?? Should I add our wedding date at the bottom??
