You know you're getting married when...
Fill in the Blank
My FH and I went to a wedding this weekend. As we were getting ready, he looked over at me and said, "Oohhh, let's play "Four Weddings" when we get there!" The only thing I could think in my head was, "only a man that is about to get married would want to play something like that". If you're not familiar, Four Weddings is a show that comes on TLC about brides that attend each other's wedding and rate them according to different categories. My FH didn't even know what "Four Weddings" was before we got engaged. Needless to say, we did end up playing it : )
I came up with a few more "you know you're getting married when's". Feel free to add more! You know you're getting married when... -you spend all day on the computer looking at blogs and Etsy -you had no clue what DIY, MOH, or STD's/save-the dates : ) were before you got engaged -you force your FH to watch every reality TV show that has ANYTHING to do with weddings -you have dreams (or nightmares) about your wedding day What are some of your "you know you're getting married when's"???? |

Cotton Candy Time!!!
Yummy!! My Favorite!!
As a little kid, I would spend hours spinning cotton candy on a little machine my mom brought me for Christmas. To this day, I STILL love me some cotton candy! Well, I just HAVE to have it at my wedding. There is a cotton candy vendor here in Atlanta and of course, I had to call her up. We'll be serving two different flavors of pink cotton candy to match our wedding colors. There will be an attendant at the reception spinning the cotton candy and we will also have a display where guests can just pick up a cone full. Sooo excited! Cant Wait!!

Time is Winding Down!!
88 Days and Counting!!
Hello Ladies,
Hope planning is treating you well. I've gotten a lot of things accomplished since my last post. I FINALLY mailed off my invitations. That was the biggest headache ever! I'm working on my programs right now, but I ran out of cardstock. So, I'll have to order more. I ordered my veil and bridal jewelry from etsy (gotta love that place!) I have my first dress fitting on March 3rd. I am soo ready to be his Mrs!!! I can't wait for the honeymoon either! I need a vacation ; ) |

We had our Table Mockup Session!
Crazy Day Yesterday!
Yesterday, FH and I went to view a mockup of the table setup that we will have at our reception. The day went from excitement and anticipation to feeling completely overhwhelmed and frustrated!
I love our centerpiece! Unfortunately, I didn't think to take a picture with the whole table. So, I just have a picture of the flowers without the linens and chargers. Despite my excitement about the flowers, it started to get overhwelming when a million people started bombarding me with questions. I just felt like I had sooo much to do and I was sooo behind. Questions like, "Have you done this...?" "Have you done that...?" From the caterer, to the lighting guy, to the linen guy...it was just a big headache! FH is ticked (to say the least) at the caterer and so am I. She has been just a complete nightmare to work with! She wants to charge us these extravagant prices just because the venue has exclusive catering and we have no choice but to use them. She never responds to phone calls, emails, etc. And when she does, it's always "Well, the President was in town and I've just been soo busy". (Our venue is the Carter Center-President Carter's Georgia home). Well, my question is: Why offer to host weddings if you're too busy to focus on them? This wedding isn't free and she acts like she's doing US a favor! Uuughhh, just had to vent a little! Hope all is well with everyone! I'm almost at the 100 day mark!! Yaay! |

GuestBook Idea!!
PostCard GuestBook!
I have been wrecking my brain about ways to be creative with our guestbook. I definitely did not want to go with a traditional guestbook and I also wanted to incorporate our engagement photos in some way. So, I browsed through google (as I usually do for wedding ideas) and came across guestbook postcards!
My plan is to have guests write well wishes on the back of the post cards. On the front of the card, I will have an engagement pic. The guests will put their cards in a card box. And throughout the year, my MOH will drop some in the mail so we can be reminded of our wedding day guests. I think it will be a great way for FH and I to relive our wedding day throughout our first year of marriage. As we receive them in the mail, we'll collect them in a postcard album. So, it will serve as an engagement photo book and guestbook. Now our biggest problem is going to be trying to stay patient as the postcards arrive throughout the year. We may just have to take a few on the honeymoon so that we can read them ; ) What are you guys doing for your guestbook?? |

NWR: Getting To Know You!
What's Your Occupation?
Hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful (yet stressful) world of wedding planning! I just wanted to take a break from wedding related posts and pose the question: What's your occupation? And if you're in school right now, what are you in school for?
I'll go first: I recently graduated with my doctorate in physical therapy. Now, I'm a physical therapist at a local hospital. |

Bridal Party Attire
Putting the Look Together ; )
My colors are pink and grey and I decided to go with a blush pink gown from Bari Jay for the BM dresses. My MOH's dress will be in the same color but will differ slightly. The color is really pretty in person. I will have flowers in different shades of pink.
Me and FH went tuxedo viewing yesterday and he looked soo handsome! He tried on a dark grey tux with a white vest and tie. The groomsmen will be wearing a pink vest and tie. We are going back and forth between light grey and dark grey tuxes. My dilemma is that FH likes the light grey tux, but I don't want it to look too "bubble gum" with the light pink BM dresses. But, on the other hand, the dark grey tux may be too dark and show up as black in pictures. Oh, the worries us brides put on ourselves! What are your thoughts on the two grey tuxes?? Like I mentioned FH tried on the dark grey, but now we will be going back to try on the light grey one. I'll post pics when we're done! Happy Planning!! |

Ask a Question
Which Monogram Do You Like Best??
I was set on a monogram but my planner told me that I should tweak it a little. Each monogram is pretty much the same with the exception of the "M". So, my question is, which monogram do you like best?
Note: The difference between 2 and 4 is that there is an "&" on 2 and not on 4. Hope that wasn't confusing : / Hope Everyone Enjoyed Their Thanksgiving Holiday!! Happy Planning Ladies!!! |
