my fiance and his family dont appreciate the whole big wedding thing ... his parents went to city hall, his older brother did the city hal thing and chris would RATHER do the city hall thing... but he is FULLy aware i will not go for that lol i wish i could have a wedding like out of Platinum Weddings but , neither of us are rich .. We're paying for this our selves he's given me a budget of 7,000.00 to work with =/ ... but would like if i could stay under 5! he's hilarious!... lol... i'm going to try and do as much DIY stuff as i can ! and we're doing alot of shopping around for the best packages for everything =)

I feel ya! My parents want me to do something smaller since we are paying for it ourselves.

ugh ! it's soo hard b/c everyone is giving their 2 cents yet none of them are putting up any money!.. it's like damn when you pay i'll do it your way but until then i dont want to hear anything negative!

I think you need to say that. My parents were kind enough to give us a little money and then we are paying for most of it ourselves, but his parents (who are giving us nothing) were the ones making all the comments. I finally told them exactly how I feel. The wedding is important to me and I am therefore willing to pay for it...it isn't important to them, so they aren't paying for it and that is fine, but that means they don't get an opinion. That was the end of it. Sometimes you just have to stand up for yourself.

yea if it continues i'm going to definitly say something... because it just puts me in a bad mood and then i re-think everything ! hence the headache! lol

We are totally working along the same budget as you and its gonna be hard to do what I wanna do! Im going to have to get extra creative and do some DIY stuff for sure. Good luck with your planning and budget!
