This is jojosmama's Purple Wedding!

Our day has come & gone & without the help of our loving family & friends it would not have been so special & amazing. Now it's time to start getting rid of this stuff!!

This project took me a long time to figure out exactly how I wanted my bouquets to look like & also going back & forth on real vs. fake flowers. I finally came across these real to touch calla lilies & fell in love with how real they look & feel. I am absolutely in love with how they came out.

I have been all over the internet getting ideas for our ceremony & vows. I think I am done. Please tell me what you think of it so far.

WEDDING VOWS

OFFICIANT – Friends, we have come here today to celebrate love. We see it in the faces of Carlos and Sheila who stand before us, but we experience it in our own hearts as well. It is a love which is spoken of in all religions, which kindles our souls with hope. Here before us we have two lives, two people, so very different, but yet so similar. Together you stand as one, sharing your future as it comes.

Carlos & Sheila have opened their hearts to one another, and today in just a few moments will share their vows of marriage together. We are deeply grateful to them for opening their hearts to us as well, inviting us to witness and share in this precious moment. To this day they bring the fullness of their being as a treasure to share with one another. Their marriage is being entered into reverently, with the recognition of a true union which has been discovered. For what greater joy is there for two human souls than to join together to strengthen each other in all their endeavors, to support each other through all sorrow, and to share with each other in all gladness.

We hope that the words and spirit of our gathering may be filled with a truth that will deepen with the passing years. We hope, too, that the meaning of the vows that Carlos and Sheila are about to share with one another will deepen as well, as they discover the endless possibilities of this life together. This is a love which need not be tarnished by common events, but which can flower both in deepest adversity and in greatest joy. As the years go by, you will find more and more in one another a loveliness which neither comes nor goes, which neither flowers nor fades, no longer even taking the form of face or hand or words or knowing. Everything in your marriage can partake of this mysterious beauty beyond beauty, until wherever you turn you see reflections of this loveliness.

It is my personal prayer and hopes that those of you who have already taken the vows of marriage will witness the love of these two people, and as you hear them share their vows, we ask that the vision you have of one another be always remembered by that radiant power which first brought you together. Love is stronger than your conflicts, bigger than life’s changes, the miracle always inviting you to learn, to blossom, and to expand. It is to love that you must always return.

Marriage is an act of faith and ever-deepening commitment, as well as a loving union between a man and a woman. It has been described as the best and the most important relationship that two people can share, the creation of a single growing energy of spiritual life. Marriage can be a lifelong unfolding of loving kindness, backed by the will to make it last.


RING VOWS
OFFICIANT – Wedding rings are an outward and visible sign of an inward spiritual grace and the unbroken circle of love, signifying to all the union of this man and this woman in marriage.

GROOM –Sheila today I stand before you with love & passion knowing that today I am marrying my true love, the mother of my children & my best friend. I give to you my unending love and devotion. I promise to be true to you, to cherish you, and to share my thoughts, hopes and dreams with you. I promise to be there when you need me through the good times and the bad, for richer or poorer, and in sickness and in health. May our hearts, body, mind & soul become one as we unite this day. Take and wear this ring as a symbol of my love and all we shall share. I will love you always.

BRIDE – Carlos today I stand before you with love & passion knowing that today I am marrying my true love, the father of my children & my best friend. I give to you my unending love and devotion. TO THE CHILDREN
OFFICIANT – Carlos and Sheila, the rings you have given to one another are symbols of your commitment to one another, but they are also more. For today you are also making a commitment to the children, Cristian and Jocelyn. Today you are pledging your love to them as well, committing to them that you will create a family together. Let the perfect circle of the wedding ring embrace Cristian and Jocelyn, as well as the two of you. For our children are gifts entrusted to us. Consider these words from The Prophet: You may give them your love but not your thoughts, for they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, for they dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, in their innocence, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.

OFFICIANT - Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited, it is never rude or selfish, it does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s faults, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope. It is always ready to endure whatever comes. True love does not come to an end.

OFFICIANT – You have declared before all of us that you will live together in marriage. You have made special promises to each other, which have been symbolized by the joining of hands, taking of vows and the giving and receiving of two ring’s. By the authority vested in me as a Minister in the State of Arizona, I now pronounce you to be husband and wife. Now that the ceremony is over and the experience of living day by day is about to begin, go and meet it gladly.

BRIDE & GROOM – Embrace each other. (Announce Mr. & Mrs. Carlos Renderos to the guests.)

I am only using a purple sash on the white chairs. I bought material to make them myself.

OK so I finally finished my ring bearer pillow & actually redid it from scratch. I used purple velvet instead of the satin & I got my tower this weekend so we added the purple ribbon & bling to the finishing touch.

Finally I found the time to finish my centerpieces for the family tables.
I spray painted the flowers purple, ordered the diamonds off eBay, used damask tape on the vase, added purple ribbon & black bling ribbon. Found the mirrors at dollar tree & got the cross & gems at Michael s.

This weekend I went into Big Lots & came across these white flower girl baskets for $2.50 I figured they were cute, but as I got home I decided to try covering them with my damask fabric & I think they came out GREAT!!!
1 down 2 more to go. Then I got brave and made the ring bearer pillow too, all I need now are some brooches.

I KNOW I'M A SHORTY

I love these dresses...they were very flattering!!

OMG just when I started giving up that I would not find my dream dress.....my bridesmaid found it!!!!
