Wedding Cake
THEEEEE Cake
Ordered this cake... LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Flavor: Two layers are Strawberry Marble with buttercream frosting (she puts almond & orange extract into her buttercream. It is very faint but it is so, so good) and two layers Lemon Poppyseed with lemon cream cheese frosting, mmmmm both covered with fondant, delish! This is the exact cake with the exception of hints of green (celery/chartruse) on the cake (some small dots here, maybe a green swirl there, not too much...) |

Holy Matrimony Batman!
So now it has been almost 5 months since we have been engaged. Who would have ever thought that planning a wedding could be so freaking exhausting! The color, the cake, the flowers, the wedding party, the location and oh, don't let me forget the G.D. Dress! I never thought I would be so particular about a piece of paper or wording or a shade of color, lol!! So help me!
I am doing well though and have a lot checked off, but it's down to the wire now since we are getting married June 6. I didn't think that taking a month off to get through the holidays and starting the new year would light such a fire under my behind! Location, check, Dress, check. Wedding party, check. Invitations and Save the dates check.! You think I would be done by now!!!! Holy Matrimony Batman, is this all it is cracked up to be?? |

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
The Proposal
So I know I haven't been in touch lately with this whole blog thing. After I got engaged, the holidays approached and roared their ugly heads, gag! But, I finally did get engaged, on September 22, to be exact. I was great, but since my fiance' is not the most spontaneous person in the world, I kind of had a hunch :) We went to this wonderful Fusion Japanese place in Park City (where we had our first date might I add) but he didn't do it there, he did it outside, in the rain, under an umbrella, in front of the building where we had our first date), How cute is that? I didn't even realize it was the same place! He asked me to marry him with his great grandmothers wedding ring! It is BEAUTIFUL! I love it! And as you would guess, since I started writing this blog before we even were engaged, I said Yes!!!

Bridesmaids
Could they be any cuter?
I don't mean to toot my own horn but Beep, Beep! I have some georgeous little girl friends that are going to be my bridesmaides! What's even better, is that they are all the sweetest, funniest, fun girls in the world, my world anyways! My little sis is going to be in my wedding party as well, but I haven't got a picture of her at the moment.
Ladies, ya gorgeous!! (to be said outloud in an Brooklyn NY accent!) LOL!! |

Wedding Dress
On The Cheap
So, it's the same day as my first blog post. That's right... I'm still not officially engaged! I do however have my dress! Now, I have had a specific dress in mind forever, not the dress I got! You see, I did a little bargain shopping and found a lady that was hoping to sell her inventory of dress' from her bridal store that she recently closed. Let me tell you, she was wonderful! I traveled up to her house about a month ago with my Aunt Danna and friend Jenny in tow. If you haven't ever visited Park City, UT you have to go, it is absolutely gorgeous! This gal had hundreds of dresses to look at but of course they weren't all my size. As she patiently brought me one dress after another, I found one. It is Ivory, strapless top with intricate crystal like beading that laces up the back a full a-line skirt that has a phenominal train with some beaded detail at the end of it that matches the bodice. What's best... it was a $2500 dress and I got it for $150!!!!! What, what what!?!?! You say... that's right, $150 bucks and couldn't be happier! What a steal!

2 And A Half Years Later!
And still waiting...
This is my frustrated face, lol!! Two and a half years later and I still have not been proposed to! WE have been busy planning, have the date set and almost everything in place but no ring yet! LOL!! I am beginning to think that I am not going to get it until we actually get married. I guess it's not all about the ring though. But it would be nice :)
So may people (at venues, dress shops, etc.) ask "so how'd he do it?" Lol!! He hasn't!!! I know that they are thinking, "she's a little overzealous!" And that I am, but I know that it's going to happen, he's all on board. It's just the actual "token" of engagement that I'm needing... that's all :) I am sure once he does it, I will have an exceptional blog to post. Until then... |
