Monograms DIY
I thought the idea of creating your own monogram would be fun, so here is what I've gotten so far. Remind you, I've only spend an hour on Word so they're not the most beautiful monograms I've ever seen----but I'm still brand new! I think the possibilites are exciting!!
What do you ladies think? Any potential!? It's actually harder than I thought! =)=) PS. I apparently have no idea what I'm doing! I can't seem to figure out how to load a Microsoft Word doc. on here. I thought I could save it like a photo and upload it, but it isn't working. Any thoughts? I should really get more familiar with computers! |

DIY centerpieces I saw online!!
I don't know who originally came up with these, but I LOOOOVE them!
THANK YOU for posting and sharing the pics to everyone who has made them as centerpieces! I've been trying to think of something I haven't seen before, and these are simply adorable! I plan on making 12 of them myself, and I think the only thing I will add/change is maybe adding a couple of black and white carnations to the flowers and also I think it'd be adorable to add one of the little LED lights/candles to the bottom ( I'm going to look for the short ones so you don't really see them, but the light they will be producing. CUTE! ) I found the vases at Michaels for $3.99 each, the 4" styrofoam balls for $2 each, and ribbon already. I haven't found flowers yet, but hope someone will suggest a great silk flower site online. =) I love good deals, and I love details. |

Inspiration Board
B&W Damask & Pink
Okay, so I started off ,
Bright pink, light pink, and white( accenting everything in pearls ) Then I was set on, Cherry blossom themed wedding, soft pinks and browns and ivory However, I've finally decided ( and I'm SO excited about it ) with, Black and white damask, and fuschia! I've always drooled over this pattern/color combo and always thought it was exactly right, but for some strange reason never thought of actually doing it! I have since realized, hey....I can do it! I can be a part of the beautiful damask weddings/receptions ladies. I've already got my eye on the ultra popular, affordable, make 'em my own damask invititations from Michaels. I think I'm going to buy them over the next couple weeks with the % off coupons. QUESTION re PRINTING INVITES! Where do you ladies get them printed? Do you need a certain program on your computer to do them at home? Should I buy a certain software? Are there any links, sites, companies any of you'd reccomend? TIA ( Thanks in advance!! ) |

Wedding Dress
I think he will love it...
Okay, this online picture doesn't do my dress any justice! I don't have any photos of me in it, but found these to post
( Am I supposed to insert something here saying I don't have any rights to these pictures, and they're not my property? ) I'm a newbie when it comes to online communities ( other than FB!! ) so I'm sorry I don't know all the rules! It's an Oleg Cassini dress. I went to David's Bridal ( doesn't sound like there are very many fans of theirs on this site, haha )and I just adore my dress. It made me feel beautiful and that's really neat!! Here are some dress details =) =) It's Strapless, has a satin bodice with beaded embroidery, organza ball gown skirt also with some embroidery work, and chapel train. I put a ballgown skirt under it, and knew right away I had found my dress! I don't think my FH will be expecting a dress like this...I can't wait to show him! I don't know how it happened but it was selling online for $1250.00 (I'm a size 16 so it was a little more than the smaller sizes ). It was on sale at DB for $600. My budget was $500, but because I had felt so great in this gown, the $100 over my budget wasn't going to stop me from having it! And, ....here's the best part! .....when the sales associate rang it up it rang up $350!!!! It was meant to be! =) Now....I better post something in the diet/exercise forum as I've bought this dress almost 2 years ago!!!! Our beautiful 14 month old son added about 50 pounds to my already chubby body!! I've lost 27 pounds since having him, but I can afford another 30! |

Wedding Budget
Sounds like this site will make our dollars stretch! YAY!
Our Budget....Is going to have to do =) =)...We're budgeting $4,000 for our wedding/reception..Because we are paying for this ourselves, we have to be pretty conservative with our wedding budget. We both talked about it and decided that putting our wedding/reception/honeymoon on a credit card is just simply not an option for us. We payed off our last cc in May-ish, and it feels FANTASTIC!!! =) So, having another $7,000-$10,000 in debt a year later sounded awful. I'm not preaching/judging/frowning on ANYONE who pays for their wedding with CC's though, not at all! =) If that's what you have to do, or if that works for your family, then that's awesome! The problem with not charging anything, is we just don't have the budget most people do for their special day...I consider myself to be fairly frugal (I'm a coupon loving momma, and inspired by all the DIYer's too ) so I'm hoping our wedding doesn't reflect the actual amount spent, but will give the feeling of so much more!
Here are a couple of really great deals I've already gotten that should help with the budgeting! *Venue - $350 *Photography Package (friend from high school that just adores us both and our little "love story")...she is giving us 8+ hours, unlimited photos, 2nd photographer for 2 hours -$200 *Dress- normally $1150, but I bought it ( new from DB over a year ago, a month before we found out we were expecting a baby!!! ) for $350! (Because we paid for this last year, we're not including this in our $4000 budget! I will however need all my accessories and alterations done.) So, $550 for venue and photography and dress (yes i paid $350 but it doesn't really count, =).. ) is a pretty good deal if you ask me! The grand room we're renting includes tables, chairs, and a stage (not sure if I'm going to incorporate that into our reception or not, but it's available for us to use ). |

Engagement
Perfect for us, intimate and sweet....
He spent the day carrying the ring box inside his pocket the entire day. That day was like any other day, rather...it started that way.. =) We got back to my apartment a little late, after dinner. I jumped into bed and started my journal entry for the day, and he had said "I just gotta take a shower"and off he went...Finished my entry, picked up my book, and he came into my room staring at me...really really looking at me. At first I thought he was putting on his sexy charm, but after he started telling me how much he loved me, and my daughter, and how we had began to change his life dramatically, and how he wouldn't be who he is or where he is without us, and that he wants to spend the rest of his life making us smile everyday and doing anything and everything he can for us, I put the book down and really started listening! He was speaking from his heart and it melted mine...He was confident in what he was telling me, but his voice was shaky. He was beside my bed, fingers locked in mine declaring his love for our family. As soon as my heart began to race he pulled out the most beautiful box I had ever seen, which just happen to hold the most perfect ring for me. We had never looked/choose any engagement rings and it was exactly what I would have wanted him to get me. I couldn't believe this was happening, although I had dreamed of it many times. You see, Jonny and I went to highschool together and my love for him began Sept 1999, in the 9th grade. I was totally head over heals for this guy, and wanted nothing more than to make him mine. I just wasn't that lucky....he was a jock, very popular, outgoing, dated beautiful cheerleaders, and yadda yadda....BUT this shy, ordinary, quiet but sweet girl wasn't any of those things. I guess I saw something in him, or felt something for him that was true and real. More real than anything either of us had known at the time...I loved him for 2 years, never telling him and eventually accepted "I would never be the one". Fast forward ten years and here we are. Thanks to myspace for us reconnecting end of '07...we began dating officially in March '08, got engaged June '08. Feb 2009 found out we were expecting! May 2009 he adopted "our daughter" ( He is such an amazing daddy to her and always has been ). Oct '09 we had our son..It's been an amazing last few years and so much has changed. Our family has grown, and as cliche as it sounds, so has our love! =) Now, if only I could have told that sweet shy girl from high school what was to come....as long as we're in the cliche mood, "IF only I had known then what I know now"...I wouldn't have spent all those nights wondering why I wasn't good enough....if only. Well, life is funny sometimes. And, hopes and dreams really do come true...sometimes it just takes awhile..... =)
