A little sad today I found the photographer that I really liked and love the price for what I get. However we really wanted wedding video as well but its just not happening. The budget is not allowing it to fit in and the prices for video have been pretty high. Especially for a nice quality one. Some that were a little cheaper were horrible they were shaking and just overall bad quality. So we dont want to settle and get something that looks terrible. So unless some miracle happens we have to say good bye to having a videographer. :( Is anyone else just having photography only?
Here's an outside of the box idea - contact a local college or university that has a multimedia or film production major and see if they have any students that would be willing to shoot the wedding. When I was in college (2 years ago) I took several a/v production classes and there were so many of us looking for opportunities to shoot almost any event and edit for class work and credit.
If you go down and find the department head or right professor they could lead you to the right students who have enough experience and tha would do a phenominal job.
My professor would even notify us when companies or individuals would come to him looking for bright new talent at an affordable price.
Just a thought. Good luck!
If you can find people almost ready to graduate or do their internship, they could probably do as good or better than a professional. I'd recommend asking for a group (3-5) so that you are not relying on one student for video. Maybe pay each $75 to film and help with the editing.
@alecia I didnt even think of that I will see who has the equipment and def. utilize it would save me the hassle and keep my funds. :)
I am also saying goodbye to having a viedeomaker.
@flrjohnson It is a great tip I will be speaking to family and friends to see if they have the equipment and if they do that would be great. Since your wedding is not far away let me know how it worked out.
