ok, so I have been having a real hard time deciding on the design or style of our wedding cake.
Over the weekend Patrick and I did a lot of searching online, but so far neither one of us have clutched our chests, gasped, and said..."WOW!"
Because we are getting married in the fall, we've toyed around with the idea of playing up the flavor of the cake with something rich and yummy... in our research we've come across a lot to choose from, but I want people to actually EAT the cake not say hmmmm.... carrot cake wedding cake??? kidding- I wouldn't do carrot cake.
We both aren't big fans of icing, neither one of us really eat a lot of chocolate and when it comes down to it, I can't remember ever going to a wedding and raving about anyone's cake... thus the dilemma.
I've heard that rolled fondant doesn't taste too hot but looks beautiful, and colored icing can be really tart or really sweet depending on who is making it..
If you are in the Georgia area around Atlanta, Macon or Savannah and know of a talented cake boss or diva full of talent and creativity, hit me up! I need help in a major way on this one.
Also- Send me pics of your wedding cake and tell me what made you choose your design. I'm going to go paruse some more pics at theknot.com
