I'm having my older sister dawn who will be married by our wedding as maid of honor. And I think Suzie my other sis is going to be my witness!

Katie is our Suzie's best friend but is like a sister to me.

Charlie is my best mate! We worked together for nearly 5 years!

Our venue!

We are having a small family wedding, only 36 at the moment coming.

Here is where Chris' mum had her mini honeymoon 5 years ago. She recommended so we had a look and fell in love!

It's gorg!! Cant wait!

Yes there is 16 month til our wedding and i've already chosen my dress!

I have chosen a Kate Sherford dress, no picture as of yet as it's her new collection, but as soon as I can get one il get it up!!

These are the other dresses I went through!

My dress has a lace bodice with sweet heart neckline. There is a sideways ribbon at the front with silver detail. The back of the top part of the dress is very low, going into a 'v'. With another ribbon that drapes to the floor (edge of skirt).
The skirt is tulle (net) that only has a small/medium trail!

I'd like to know your thoughts on my dilemma. Also my sister has the same dilemma.

Firstly, my sister is getting married Nov this year. This is how it all started.
My mum and dad split about 20 years ago. He was around for us after the split but not as much as most fathers. We went to his house every other weekend. I don't think it's fair if i go too far into the past.

Anyway, my sister is wants my mum to give her away. They are not only mother and daughter, they are very close and are like best friends.
She let my dad know in a nice way. He's taken it very bad! He is blaming my mum, my grandparents, thinks all the family is laughing at him.

My sisters argument is that he doesnt know her as well as my mum does. He doesnt know any of her friends names, not even sure that he would be able to pick them out of a crowd.

Well he isnt talking to her. This started in Nov 2009.

After I booked my venue my dad asked me who was giving me away. That was his 1st question, not whats the venue like etc, just straight to the point, whos giving you away.

Well im very very close to my grandad, alot more than my dad. I visit every week, without failure. He's been there alot more than my dad. No disrespect to my dad.
So yes, I want my grandad, it means alot to me. It's not gone down well again.

And yes, he's now not talking to me. And is blaming everyone but himself.

The split with my mum is not his fault. He's forgotten what type of husbond he was to my mum, how he treat her and us. How he spend the last pennies, saying he earned them, never mind the food shopping that needed doing. My gran and grandad constantly stepped in.

His selfishness apparently carried on throughout the divorce and after when it came to when he should be seeing us. It's all his fault, no her fault.
But it's in the past and we were too little to remember.

Now is important.

Both me and my sister on separate occasions have been to speak to him and explain. He wouldnt listen. It's all about him, whos going to be saying what to him, is it about his nose, money, the past.
Never mind what the bride wants/feels.

I know it is hurtful.

He's not spoken to me since Feb14th when i went to go see him.
I'm not giving in, i have done the hard bit and spoke to him face to face.

Our middle sister has been to speak to him and got the same its all about him speech. She didnt get anywhere.

He's not coming to either wedding. Which shows how selfish he is.

I;m mad and dont want him to come now but i think il regret that in the future.

He's seen his grandson twice, maybe 3 times since November. All because this. He's doing to my nephew what he did to us when he fell out with my mum over the divorce.
You cant take it out on the children.

Oh, iv had a rant now!

We had our engagement part at our fave restaurant! Pino put us on a buffet of italian food! Oh it was gorg!!
We only invited the select few again. We dont like a lot of attention!

We had a family holiday to Melbourne to visit Chris' family. As there were 9 of us staying in one house and we were doing things together every day and night, we decided to book a night in Sydney on our own!

We flew over on the 4th Aug 2009 in the morning. We visited the aquarium that day, wondered around the city and harbour, the sydney opera house! Loved it.

We then went back to our hotel which overlooked the Sydney Opera house. We had a rooftop pool, but it was winter then so there was no chance we were getting in it!! Cold wind!!
We got changed and set off to the revolving restaurant where we were booked for a meal!

We had our meal and went to the cocktail bar so we could sit and enjoy the view of Sydney!

And then he popped the question!! I was over the moon! Obviously said yes!!

The ring is/was my Grans. She passed away in the Jan before we went to Australia. And we asked if we could have the ring and use it for engagement wen Chris was ready. My Grandad kept hold of it from then until August.
Chris had to go and ask him for it!! Bless!!

It is gold, with a platinum clasp holding a black diamond. It was the last ring that my gran received as a present from my grandad.
It means a lot to have it.
