Final Week...
Last cake for a while
Today I had no last cake decorating class. I am sure no one cares, but I still enjoyed it and like to post them hoping to catch someones attention!
We learned how to make ribbon roses today. I made a couple bad ones before I learned what to do! They are quite simple and I like how mine look :) I am sure that with practice, they will look much better! I am very much looking forward to taking the flowers and cake design classes in a couple months! I should mention that the cake is lemon, with a raspberry filling :) |

That time of the week again!
Well today I had my 3rd cake decorating class! We had to make cupcakes! I filled mine with a marshmallow cream, mmmm. And we learned how to do drop flowers, shaggy mums and some other neat things.
I had so many cupcakes, that I decided to buy some boxes and gift them to my neighbours! Lets just say that the kids might not get any lol! Looking forward to my last class, wondering what kind of cake should I make. What flavour do you think I should make? |

Cake Decorating Classes
Today I had my second cake decorating class. I decided that I would do a Doctor Who cake!
I first started off trying to make a blue velvet cake for the Tardis, but it ended up turquoise when it mixed with he cocoa powder. Oh well it is still yummy! I made a Tardis outline and then transferred it onto the cake using wax paper. I looove it! I am so geeky lol The last picture is the Super Mario cake that I made for my hubby for his birthday in January. Again geeky :) And I posted both pics on reddit.com! |

Wedding Guestbook
So finally 6 months after the wedding, I finally have finished and put together our guestbook! It took me forever to search the internet for a landscape binder. Every binder that I found was either an art presentation binder or an easel binder and they were all like $60+. I just didn't understand why moving from a portrait to landscape for regular paper quadrupled in price for the binder?!?
I had just about given up finding the binder until I came across Paolo Cardelli binders and fell in love! They are made out of 100% post consumer boards for those who are eco conscious and come in a variety of colors and textures. The binder was only $31, and I thought that was a great price for what it is! I had a lot of fun going through the pages looking at what people drew and wrote for us. A little word of advice though for anyone who is using a similar guestbook, I would have an attendant monitor and instruct your guests on what to do. I had these pages at each place setting and some of the older guests thought they were placemats! Overall I am happy with my guestbook! So for anyone interested in my guestbook, or having one specifically designed for your wedding theme, please check out my Etsy Shop to see what I can do for you! And here is the link for the Paolo Cardelli designer binders. ***A word of advice for Canadian Brides, I bought this through Amazon.com because it was shipped via USPS and not UPS. UPS as I am sure some brides have found out that they charge an arm and a leg in brokerage fees and you pay duty on top of that. When I ordered it from Amazon, it was shipped regular parcel mail and I did not have to pay duty when it was delivered to me!*** |

I hope that everyone's new year has started of great! I have been working hard on improving my etsy shop. I have lowered pricing on some items and shipping has gone down too!
My newest creation, that I took from my own wedding are wine bottle labels! My parents make their own wine and had wine labels made for me for our wedding. My husband recently bought some spike your juice kit from thinkgeek.com and he wanted me to make a mario theme label for his "wine" and so it got me thinking of creating some designs!
